For real. I'd ALMOST say I nearly got PTSD from the Naruto ending. Though, in reality, I was in a very bad place in my life when that trash ending came out. So it affected me way more than I'd like. I wish I could move on like many of the NaruSaku fans did. But my gosh...if I stay on the subject of Naruto *too* long, it's like the snap of a twig; I become extremely angry.

It's not healthy and I hate that the ending did this to me.

 
I hear yah.  I gave up on shipping  in stories. Writing NS in my original helped me move on and healed the pain in my heart. The pain is gone, but my heart will forever be scarred for life.

...Wasn't Naruto favorite food ramen...you know the cheap crap noodles in a bag/cup that college students have to exist on? That's not really an expensive food. His favorite restaurant was a stand that sold the stuff, and that's the only restaurant we know he visited frequently...or at all. Also, I recall once Naruto had all his money in his toad wallet that Jiraya spent on call girls and in shippuden at the start he was out of money to the point he couldn't get Sakura to have a date with him. Also, now that I remember it, in that one-shot for the Last where Naruto was taking Hinata out to dinner. He tried to take her to an expensive restaurant but couldn't go because the prices were too expensive to the point that Hinata had to instead suggest the ramen stand after checking out how much money he had. So even at the end of the manga when he is the acknowledge son of the fourth hokage, the head of the Uzumaki clan in Konoha, and the clear next in line for the title of Hokage he still didn't have that much money.

 

The most valuable item he had throughout the series was Tsunade's necklace which could buy three gold mines...but he would have to sell in order to actually have said money.

 your lucky I have ptsd from that ending in 2014 I was depressed for a damn month, though the ending give me ideas to info it and do more with the ending and by that make hinata super evil.

If Kishimoto ever did a reboot and NaruSaku ended up canon, I'd have to say; I'd at least expect him to confess that NH/SS wasn't the intended pairing in the original story. He'd have to yuck up the truth and apologize for it.

Though, frankly, I'd just prefer he did a reboot of the ending. For all I know, an entire reboot of Naruto would still have the horny boys for Hinata interfering and they would straight up make Hinata the heroine and push Sakura to the side. I can't trust them NOT to. In fact, I'd expect it.

And I am not waiting or wasting another 10 years of my life to see how that goes. How Naruto ended forever turned me off of ongoing series. If horny editors/studios have THAT MUCH say in how a series ends, I can't trust it to not happen again. I'm pretty much disillusioned with the anime industry and am now extremely selective about what I watch/read. 
On top of all that, I now I have a strong resistance/dislike for moeblobs who have nothing going for them suddenly becoming a mary-sue and are only defined by their feelings for a guy. But everyone loves them because "AWWW KAWAIIIIII <3333 SO CUTE. U GO GURL. UR A GODDESS. GET UR MAN". Forget about actually having a personality. Forget character development. Moeblobs nearly need to steal oxygen from everyone else to become a fan favorite. Happened to Naruto. Happened to another series I love. Burn all the moeblob trash. Literally a cancer in story telling of any kind.

Thanks for turning me into this bitter of a person when it comes to anime and manga, Kishimoto and Studio Pierrot. 

 

Which is why I've moved on from Naruto. And I'm never going back to it, unless there is genuine effort put into the story and there is also no signs of swaying the structure of the plot, just to please a group of idiotic fans that never supported it in the first place nor are they ever satisfied with the outcome either way.

 

On the other hand I've seen some series that I've totally invested my time in and I won't say that I have half a mind that they may end up in the same kitten circumstances. But I've tried to balance being optimistic with being realistic ,in that I will wait and see where it gores and hope for the best but expect the worst. And trust me the feeling of Naruto never goes away for me either because I get the same unease when I see the same scenario in another series that I following right now. I won't delve into it , but it's there

 

Now the real problem, if you ask me, with these over simplified, trashy moe characters is that fans obsess over them for no other reason other than satisfy their own deluded fantasies. And because of that, no one can ever look at these characters objectively and give a genuine opinion of them except their own head canon, plus take offence to the slightest criticism of that character like it is a verbal assault on their own ego and beliefs.  Which is why I never try to have civilized conversations with these fans because I already know there's no point in trying. Just saying. I can understand liking a moe character, but I will NEVER understand worshiping them like a religion, threatening to set anyone on fire that does not view them like you do or making up in your head facts and and personality traits they simply do not have, and can not see except what you want to see in that character

 

 

You and me both. Hinata Hyuga and her fandom have given me such a shellshock in anime that I become extremely anxious every time I see a character that even remotely resembles Hinata and her moe-gunk. I am like "Oh here we go again. How is this kitten going to do nothing and get all the rewards now?"

Naruto...has really stressed me as of late and I am having a hard time pulling away from it.

Worse still when I see these "Naruto fans" say how great Hinata is ALL they f-n remember is the damn Pein Arc scene. 15 years, 13,728 pages, and that is ALL they remember?

It is insulting. It is just so insulting.

 

Insulting AND HILARIOUS if you ask me. THEY are the ones that proved what genuine fans are not. THEY are the ones that got rewarded in the end for all of their obsession for a crack pairing. AND NOW, THEY ARE THE ONES reaping the consequences for their own hubris. Their divine couple is not having the happily ever after marriage and perfect family life that all these nut cases were dreaming of and now they even MORE salty than when there was the threat of their crack pairing losing. Those that STILL BOTHER to defend Boruto, use such flimsy and pathetic excuses that you would genuinely believe they are trying to convince themselves that they have not wasted their time on it for nothing. OH? Naruto and Boruto's dynamic adds meaningful drama to the series?  Yeah tell me that when Boruto stops showing wangst about his father's neglect and Nardo stops showing his hypocrisy on loneliness, isolation and not even having any parents for his whole god damned life. And if they get heated and start bashing us for criticizing  Boruto? "Calm down, It's just a story!" Isn't that what you were telling us when your crack pairing became canon?

 

Honestly I am RELISHING in their hypocrisy and salt right now. Because they can't accept that the series went into the gutter right now and is basically milking the skeleton of a cash cow because it died years ago. Now they know how we feel. They WASTED their time. The couple that they wanted to happen so badly that they threatened violence and the notion to  to not support the series anymore does not have their fairy tale married life that these "fans" were hoping for and the divine couple's kids are "dysfunctional brats" that have to be remade to purity-sues to not have more fans leaving the series. They can't accept that for their crack pairing to happen, the MC had to throw all of his character development, personality and emotional intelligence out the window for their "moe princess" to even get a shot with him.  And they can't accept Boruto exists now because Naruto NARDO became a hypocrite to his beliefs and goals of bringing world peace and ending conflict so there are no more orphans suffering that can turn into megalomaniacs. So once again  THIS IS my only reaction........................................

No kidding guys. I also hesitate doing any shipping for stuff I watch all because some writers wanna be different or wrack something established to make what they want happen. But I also worry about how SJWs just wanna ruin stuff and then the insane fans out there, like what you said here, James.

It is not even clever at this point. It is literally the most basic form of cliche. Doing something for the sake of "look how random I am" is not doing something genius, it is just cheap thrills. It is so bad.

Imagine someone rewriting Romeo and Juliet and at the end Romeo is walking up to Juliet's "corpse" and being like "Oh well, the kitten is dead. Hey, Rosaline, where are you my air-brushed beauty?" Or even better, take "The notebook" and at the point where he goes to the hospital and he sees her and she doesn't remember him, he goes."I'm free. Later suckers. BTW, I am gay" and that's the end of the story. What kind of crap is that? "Look how progressive and spontaneous I am." This is especially true with all the "woke" stuff now. If you see a movie with predominate female casting, chances are it is going to be "Men are bad; Women power; I hate Trump" kind of deal. (Terminator Dark Fate, Charlie's Angels Reboot number 69, Ghostbusters 2016, Star Wars, and even the new James Bond.) And don't get me wrong. If that's what you want to make, then make it, but the fact is that it doesn't mean you are a writing genius and it doesn't mean people HAVE to see it.

No, NS is NOT a red herring. I know some writing scholars like to say "Red herrings can be unintentional," but I call massive kitten on this since 1. we know that the love rivalry between Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura was intentional and 2. Kishimoto expressed that Hinata was pushed more forward due to popularity rather than him just writing scenes unintentionally. So obviously, I don't think this is the case. I also want to say that an "unintentional red herring" is what I call a "serendipitous situations." I don't believe red herrings can be unintentional because you purposely made characters similar for a reason.

How can Minato asking Sakura if she is Naruto's girlfriend and comparing her to Kushina is a red herring? That is just garbage and if they do want to classify it as a red herring, then Kishimoto is NOT good at it. That's like having a murder mystery happen where the cop arrest someone for being the murder because "he looks like he could be the murderer not based on fact, but of gut feeling." Cops would never arrest someone on a gut feeling. They would investigate. Unless you are Sledge Hammer and it was played up for laughs.. (Look it up)

A true red herring would be like
"Naruto and Hinata should be together. You should support this because the Hyuga clan was part of the Konoha and Naruto wants to be the leader of Konoha."
All of the facts are true on why, but it has no relevance to the point.

Calling NS a red herring is basically Kishimoto saying: "Naruto and Hinata was always going to happen and everything else is irrelevant to Naruto's  story as a whole. From Sasuke's point of leaving to Naruto fighting to bring Sasuke back is completely and totally irrelevant."

Saying "NS was a red herring" is itself a red herring because Kishimoto is saying that 15 years of story is irrelevant to the ending of Naruto. All the relationships, bonds, and more mean NOTHING because the whole point was to put Naruto and Hinata together. I don't know if Kishimoto is just plain stupid or is so smart that he basically telling everyone that "the studio wants you to abandon my entire story for this."

NS is not the red herring....the entire plot of Naruto is the red herring. I really wonder if this is code for something.

 I can handle the fanbase for too long. They make my brain hurt.

No joke, I was discussing more with an NH fan and they asked "What did Sakura do that was so useful?" So I listed off everything like the time she cured Kankuro of Sasori's poison, the time she saved kids from Peins animal summons that were too much for most the village, the time she kept Naruto alive, etc. I didn't read his entire response, but the FIRST SENTENCE started with

"Sakura curing the poison was no big deal..."

I stopped right there. No big deal? Chiyo thought it was a big deal. Sasori was impressed and thought it was a big deal. Naruto himself thought it was a big deal. How can it NOT be a big deal? This is when I knew...that it is not what Sakura has or has not done...no, it is what they are willing to give Sakura true credit for. Hell, they think Sakura punching Kaguya was "no big deal."

These same people who think that Hinata throwing herself into Pain and nearly dying is "ground-breaking achievement," but Sakura taking on Sasori and doing things that even the most skilled medical ninja could not do...is "no bog deal."

I just lost it. THAT is how bad their bias is and the worse part is...I don't know whether they realize what they are doing. I wonder if they think Kakashi taking on Pain and dying is "no big deal," but then again, Naruto wasn't in love with Kakashi so I guess he gets a pass.

Do you have any OTPs that you liked happen? If you do, you got one more than me. My OTPs either will not be canonized persay, but not debunked either, will never come to light either or worse never happened. If there is an OTP I liked that came together, it was usually pretty obvious to everyone even before so I don't count them.

My OTPs
NaruSaku - didn't happen
Takashi and Saeko (HOTD) - the series is basically dead in the water, but more than likely Takashi would end up with Rei because "she was the first girl."
Saitama and Fubuki (OPM) - I highly doubt any pairing will be canon in this series, but meh. (Still interesting that Mob looks like a kid that Saitama and Fubuki would have.)

I never had one OTP be canonized and ever since Naruto I stopped having OTPs all together because that way I can never be disappointed again. Although, I am currently supporting BorutoXSalad, not because I want them to be together, but because I want SP to pull the switcharoo again and have Boruto be with Sumire.

The ONLY OTP that I ever got canon was Jaune and Pyrrah of RWBY and.....she dies 5 minutes after it became canon.
Now I kind of want Ruby and Jaune to get together by the end of the series, but since everyone wants her to be a lesbian...well....off to the races we go. I have no hope for RWBY anymore.

Hinata can do no wrong. She is the golden child. Whatever she does it is excused and I seen this kitten.

Sakura could cure cancer, which she might as well did, and they are like "Well, she is a medic ninja. That is her job." I am not kidding, I have heard people say this. Hinata can do no wrong in there eyes. Always the poor golden child that got abused and Naruto was the only one who could understand her pain.

She is the daughter of the leader of the Hyuga, she actually is rich, and her father ends up praising her for no reason at al by the end of the series all because she married Naruto...a celebrity?

If anything Hinata is the better representation of the "rich, privileged, white girl" strawman people loving throwing around. I know she is not white, but I am saying in the context of things. I may be gaslighting this, but still. Boruto and Himawari are more like the "rich, privileged, white kid" trope too seeing how they are the children of the Hokage, they win everything because their father makes it happen, everyone seems to like Boruto and Himawari, and they get powers of the wazoo.

Hinata has SO much parental favoritism that when it comes to explaining Boruto's bad behavior that they rather blame Naruto even before considering Hinata being the issue here.

It is VERY sad. It would be a funny joke too....if I haven't experienced it in my life for real.

It's worse. The Hero Hei video I posted has comments like
"Naruto is so powerful that in the light novels they say him just existing is bending space time."

I am not sure where this came from, but my gawd we are reaching levels of absurdity that may just be on par with Dragonball Super.

Agreed James this Fandom is so toxic not us specifically but in general.
Yes mostly in video games, anime one are Gohan x videl, Ed and winry and the fairy tail couple like Natsu and Lucy and gray and juvia since it's pretty much confirm they are canon, nate and Elena I love those two in uncharted. Rwby it's hard.
Same with bolt and sarada mostly for that last minute pull bs again.

For real. I'd ALMOST say I nearly got PTSD from the Naruto ending. Though, in reality, I was in a very bad place in my life when that trash ending came out. So it affected me way more than I'd like. I wish I could move on like many of the NaruSaku fans did. But my gosh...if I stay on the subject of Naruto *too* long, it's like the snap of a twig; I become extremely angry.

It's not healthy and I hate that the ending did this to me.

Eh,I'm gonna give my two cents and reiterate a statement I made about couplings awhile ago: I have a long list of anime couples over the years that were never realized in canon, so I can understand the fear and reluctance to continue that practice. But y'know what? As many times as I've been disappointed, I've also had my faith rewarded. For every NaruSaku, Taiora and IchiRuki resolution that was taken away from me, I was given a Touken, NaLu, SoMa,etc. So, even though I've been burned, it has done little to stymie my optimism when it comes to my personal couplings.  So, I'm still holding onto hope, because realistically, not every author or creator is going to pull a Kishimoto.

Do you have any OTPs that you liked happen? If you do, you got one more than me. My OTPs either will not be canonized persay, but not debunked either, will never come to light either or worse never happened. If there is an OTP I liked that came together, it was usually pretty obvious to everyone even before so I don't count them.

My OTPs
NaruSaku - didn't happen
Takashi and Saeko (HOTD) - the series is basically dead in the water, but more than likely Takashi would end up with Rei because "she was the first girl."
Saitama and Fubuki (OPM) - I highly doubt any pairing will be canon in this series, but meh. (Still interesting that Mob looks like a kid that Saitama and Fubuki would have.)

I never had one OTP be canonized and ever since Naruto I stopped having OTPs all together because that way I can never be disappointed again. Although, I am currently supporting BorutoXSalad, not because I want them to be together, but because I want SP to pull the switcharoo again and have Boruto be with Sumire.

The ONLY OTP that I ever got canon was Jaune and Pyrrah of RWBY and.....she dies 5 minutes after it became canon.
Now I kind of want Ruby and Jaune to get together by the end of the series, but since everyone wants her to be a lesbian...well....off to the races we go. I have no hope for RWBY anymore.

I have a few OTPs and...well, none of them ever seem to happen in the most traditional sense. Or they just don't. 
NaruSaku was my favorite OTP, but of course, they didn't happen.
The other ones I have are like...one didn't happen before another pair happened with one of the characters first. One is still a WIP. Another barely had the chance to happen since it was confirmed, but one of them are dead. Another is in a game where no pairing is canon because you can choose who goes with who. Another one happened, but one died shortly after. One keeps getting teased, but never fully confirmed. 

All kind of in weird places, really. But I think I've had all of these except 2, before the heap of garbage that's the Naruto ending, happened. I don't let myself get OTPs much anymore or even ship much unless the series is finished.

The problem with Naruhina's fans is they didn't understand the naruto's message; if you were a completely looser, the girl that you wanted think you are a annoying person, you don't have friends, or something like that, you can turn it in your favor if you work hard enough. They just wanted a couple because they like how it look. That's why boruto is selling bad the real fandom were who understand it and now Boruto just give a damn, because of they destroy the message. And Kishimoto Don't give a damn, after all he's rich right now. But I'm sure he's gonna paid for what he has done
