You know it's possible they are going to do this Thor and Sif stuff in the third Movie, at least that's what Ign thinks in an article.
I think the reason they did this Thor and Jane stuff is because the mainstream audience (the ones not familiar with the comics or the Norse mythology) only really seen Thor and Jane interact in the last movie more so they just stuck with it.
So you only just saw the film? Any besides the shipping stuff did you like the film?
I was kinda let down. The shipping stuff REALLY let me down but so did most of the movie to be fair.
Eccelston was the 9th doctor, a fantastic (see what i did there?) actor. Most of his dialoge was in dark elvish (which in my version of the movie was for some reason subtitled in chineese) so I kinda feel they wasted a brilliant actor on a poorly written villain.
In the comics Thor: God of thunder Malachyte is the current villain and he is just written so damm well. He is scary powerful and smart. Here he`s just this white guy that fails to look like a dark elf.
The movie also promised us two things: Thor and sif and "An ancient enemy that is so powerful that they would require Loki`s assistance"
Instead we got more Jane and some villain that got owned by Thor and even Frigga (which was a total badass in the movie).
Another problem. It was entirely unnecessary to kill Frigga. Sure it gave Loki a motive to help but they could have used something else. Frigga is alive in the comics (as far as I know) so they could have kept her alive.
And is it me or are all the "big name" actors getting kinda wooden? Portman only kinda tried but Hopkins just kinda said kitten it. I hated the way Odin was handled in this movie. Kinda like he got drunk during the avengers and is now passively angry at the world.
What little was there of Sif was awesome, and the same goes for the warrior 3.
Now for my main problem:
Oh my lord, what the kitten Selvig? The mentor figure from Thor 1, the man who kinda developed phase 2 tesaract weaponry for SHIELD, has now been degraded to a nude guy running around stonehenge with his bullsh** impossible equipment (if fury were to see those things he would go balistic) and explaining kitten in prison with a shoe he stole from Stan Lee. Why do this to a good respectable character.
Everytime Darcy gets on screen: bullsh**, New intern: bullsh**, the device they used: bullsh**.
Here`s what happened to me. I was watching the battle. The ship was falling on Thor. And I was waithing to see which one of the awesome ass asgradians would come to save him (my money was on Loki) and instead we get the deus ex machima plot device save. bullsh**.
Also I was so relieved when I saw that pilots managed to get back to our world. God forbit they almost showed us what happened to Sif and the warriors 3 afther they bravely rebelled against Odin for Thor`s sake.... bullsh**
In short: Too much missused comedy, too much plot devices and deus ex machima (even diablos ex machima) moments and a SERIOUS waste of Christopher Eccelston.
