First official review from Playstation Magazine from Australia:

"Batman: Arkham City is not only the best superhero game ever made, it's one of the best games ever made full-stop. It takes the already superlative original and gloriously expands on it. It's a deeper game, more complex, more inventive, more mature. It brings the caped crusader's world to life better than any comic, movie or television show before it."

"Presentation: Endlessly creative, perfectly moody, and technically flawless. This is Epic's Unreal engine pushed to its absolute limit."

"Sound: Alternatively foreboding and frantic, the game's orchestral soundtrack matches the on-sccreen action perfectly. Voice acting is brilliant."

"Controls: Complex and initially overwhelming but also logical and responsive. It'll take a while to get used to them, but once you do it feels perfectly natural flinging Batman around."

"Replay Value: Immense. A massive main quest, dozens of side missions, Riddler challenges, secondary game modes, and DLC will keep most people occupied for months."

"VERDICT: We can't imagine how a superhero game could be better than this. Absolutely sublime."

10/10

You know this game is going to be epic now! biggrin.gif

Nolan North's virtually unrecognizable with that Ryan Winstone British gangster accent for Penguin.

This is probably THE free-roaming Batman game I've been waiting for. I've already played Spider-Man's New York, now it's time to play Batman's Gotham City...even if it is only a part of it. Here's hopin' the Batmobile can be playable in future Batman games....

The first downloadable content pack for Batman: Arkham City will hit on November 1, Warner Bros. announced today.

The content includes Nightwing, who has his own arsenal of special gadgets and moves, in addition to two challenge maps: Wayne Manor and Main Hall. Nightwing will be playable in the game's challenge maps. A version of Nightwing from the animated series will also be included.

The publisher also announced the Robin Bundle, which was previously only available through pre-order, will arrive on November 22 for all owners of the game. Both content packs will retail for 560 Microsoft Points or $6.99 on PlayStation Network.

Some other news:

QUOTE
We have some amazing information from Batman: Arkham City for our dear readers. There is a ridiculous amount of content in this game, as most of you already know. But Sefton Hill, game director, Rocksteady studios had a lot to reveal in this fantastic interview with Eurogamer.

He said that Rocksteady wanted to provide a focused story experience to gamers, but it wasn’t possible if they made it completely open-world. But in the game, they managed to create the game in such a way that not only does it feel open-world but gives a lot of freedom as well, and providing a focused story experience in the process.

“When people play this they’ll see it feels like an openworld game, it feels you’ve got the freedom of an openworld game, but still with the crafted characterisation you get from a more story driven game,” he revealed.

He also elaborated on the freedom aspect of the game and said, the game gives a lot of freedom to the player and there are a lot of side-missions in the game, which can be played whenever the player wants.

“I feel with Arkham City we’ve got a game in a nice position between the two. When you play the final game, there’s a huge amount of freedom. You can choose what you’re doing at any given time.

“You can choose which side mission you’re going to do, if you’re going to go after Riddler Trophies, if you’re going to rescue political prisoners who are getting beaten up. At any given moment there’s a hell of a lot of choice in there which you would normally associate with an openworld game.

“But at the same time you still have this focused story you can follow. We’ve got a nice combination of those two gameplay elements,” he said.

Batman: Arkham City is shaping up to be one of the best superhero games ever created. Rocksteady knows what it is doing and hopefully the gamers will do, when the game comes out on October 25th.
More of a open world feel!

QUOTE
It’s no secret that the team over at Rocksteady are masterminds when it comes to foreshadowing future releases, I mean, just look at the Arkham City blueprints they cunningly hid in Arkham Asylum!
In a recent interview, Rocksteady’s lead narrative designer Paul Crocker suggested that this trend will continue with a few easter eggs throughout Arkham City’s vast environment.

“There are elements in the game that you will be able to look for. Whether they’re to do with another game, or just something else, ideas we have, they’re definitely in there. ”

Crocker then hinted towards a challenge for fans looking for these secrets, as he noted that it’s ”worth exploring every nook and cranny of Batman: Arkham City”.

Well! I guess the race is on.. Momentary internet fame to whomever finds the first egg!

Whoo, got the Robin bundle pre-ordered already, so no need to waste the extra 7 bucks. I gotta say, I love the designs for the Bat-clan that Rocksteady did. Nightwing looks badass. Will be interesting if they release a Batgirl design, at least.

I just got my 3D 3 disks Green Lantern movie in the mail. I opened it up because i planned on watching it tonight and WTF!!! I saw Sinestro Corps. Batman skin with downloadable code to the left. I heard rumors of it being only BestBuy but apparently Amazon has it too.

I can't wait to try it out.
