I live next to these little assh*le dogs who keep chasing my cats. It is so annoying but it's mostly the owners' faults. They shouldn't own any animals if they can't control them.

Dogs. I got a Pit bull mixed with a Rottweiler and a Chihauhau mixed with a Shih Tzu. Way better than a cat.

I used to have a Border Collie named Chip, a German Shepard named Buster, a Chihuahua named Sugarcandy, a Pitbull named Chico, and a little Terrier named Moses. I still have guilt over losing all these animal companions, it's the bad thing about loving animals, most of them die too soon. The only cat I've ever owned (Batman) is still alive after 10+ years so I guess its true that cats live a long time. I like both animals.

I have two cats (from the same litter) who are about eighteen years old now, almost as old as me. Though one is not in good health and the other is definitely showing sign of his age, but still going strong. That's another thing I like about cats is that they often have longer lifespans that most dogs, so they can be around as companions longer. I always hate losing pets, cat or dog.

A long time ago my dad used to have a cat that ate her own babies. She would eat their bodies and cover the rest of them with a blanket so it looked like their heads were sleeping. He took her off to dump her somewhere but kept hearing loud growling noises coming from the trunk of the car lol. That cat was crazy but I know some really bad dogs too. It also depends on how the owner raises them, I believe that animals reflect their humans. (my dad is the nicest person in the world but I think his stray cat had some bad owners or a hard life before)

Oh my god, I've never heard of a cat doing that. Definitely not normal. Years ago, we had a cat that was extremely aggressive, like she was possessed. Later on we found out she had a kidney disease and that was probably why she acted that way, because she was in pain.

Over the years we've taken in some rescue cats, like one that had her tail run over and cigarettes put out on her belly, and someone was her going to feed to their dog (she's still a little wild sometimes, lol) and recently a kitten that was left at the side of the road and was going to be put down. She was very skittish at first, but now she's completely different. I strongly believe animals reflect their environment. If they're treated right they'll make wonderful, loving companions. I feel that you can tell a lot about a person just by how they treat animals.

Aww poor kitty. :( That's so awesome you take in rescued animals, you are truly a good person. <3 Yeah all living creatures are shaped by their environments, I hate people who are cruel to animals. I know some dog-lovers on YouTube who like to hate on cats for no reason. It's like "kitten you!! Just because you like one doesn't mean you have to hate the other". I like all animals no matter the species. They should make a thread for birds, rats, and turtles etc. XD

I've heard of cats living into their twenties and one person told me her cat was 30.

Most of our cats left too soon. One got run over, another we had to put in the shelter along with our dog because we had to move to an apartment, one died young from liver failure, others we found and loved we couldn't keep because of my stepdad's allergies. And then I have my current cat.

Got him as a kitten, knew his mother. She belonged to some people renting from us, but she was rather neglected and handled roughly by their six year old. She ran off to live with my neighbor (can't blame her), got pregnant somewhere along the way. My neighbors raised her kittens, we ended up keeping one. So, I have tons of baby pictures. <3 <3 <3 He's almost two now, hope he lives a long, long time.
