I was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica...so that makes me 100% Jamaican! a_dance.gif
But half of my family is from Britain, so I also have that English blood running through my veins tongue.gif

And also because Jamaica was once a British Colony, I was raised to speak the Queen's English, so I have a bit of a British accent happy.gif
And that makes me bilingual...I'm fluent in both Jamaican patois and English! XD

Yeah! a_dance.gif

Well, I was born in Texas and have spend all but three years of my life here (the other three were in Oklahoma). However, my mother is a Canadian citizen, so its probably fair to say I'm 1/2 American 1/2 Canadian

I'm 100% Indian too. Though i must admit Cricket isn't as fascinating to me as it is to Monkey-kun...... Football (Soccer to you guys) is more to my taste.... *shrugs* It comes with being a goan i guess.... Football (Soccer's) in our blood tongue.gif
Even though i'm Indian i can't speak Hindi to save my life. Since Goa was a Portuguese colony once i was brought up to speak portuguese. though i must admit that numerous trips to Brazil in my youth kinda tainted my portuguese a bit. I speak a hybrid version of portuguese thats both traditional and Brazilian. Same goes with my english (that's a mixture between traditional British and American)

It's true. It was one of the conditions of joining the union back in 1846. But from 1836-1846 we were our own counrty. What other state can say that?

There are other Indians?!? Of course, I was born in the U.S., Shreveport, LA to be exact (go LSU TIGERS!). But both my parents immigrated from India. Of course, I don't have a strong love for cricket. I'm more integrated into the American way of life, though I love my culture and religion! MTR, what part of India are you from? My parents are from Punjab.

And Crazy, I don't know much hindi either. Though I'm actually taking the attempt to learn it! It's going pretty well! I can write my name and my parents' and brother's name! Not to mention that I can understand hindi and punjabi pretty well, just can't speak or write, though I did say I'm trying to learn!

California?

It was only its own country for 2 years, but it still had a little bit of independence.

And of course, Hawaii. They were a single kingdom for nearly a hundred years and with a constitution for the last dozen or so.

Oh, and I'm a USA-ican.

OH MY GOD! MORE INDIANS ?!?!?!?!?! I never expected to see so many here lol. Its not a problem of understanding Hindi.... Its a problem that i'm confused due to learning Konkani (native language of Goa) and Hindi simultaneously. As a result i speak a mixture of both languagues (Doesn't help that many words are extremely similar but others extremely different.) I can understand both languages to the point i can understand what other people say. but i can't fo the life of me make a coherent sentence in either language (they come out in a wierd mixture of the 2 lol). It DOES help however that almost everyone (even people who don't speak it) understand english so i manage to get by. tongue.gif
