I figured they weren't going after the archie sonic comics scandals with Ken penders and they added all those rules including no romance

 

 

To be specific, they never stated that romance itself was prohibited. Only that the characters weren't allowed to be *too* overt in expressing romantic affection and that they couldn't date(as we've seen in the IDW comics and Boom). Personally, I think Sega is just ready to move on from that debacle at this point, especially since it's been well over a decade since they created that mandate.  I also wouldn't be surprised if Flynn himself may have had a hand in convincing them.

 

I don't think SEGA is moving on from that because they knew that if they decided to make SonAmy to be canon, in games and in other media, they will pissed off Sonic X Sally shipping fans badly (not mention of the fact they are not returning to any of the SatAM cast and elements due to not only licensing but also nostalgic reasons -and also $$$-). It is at best for them to do teases for now that may lead to dates but mix it with their adventures. I could see this as the current route for Sonic and Amy now in the IDW comics. 

 

Right now, the mandates are staying, despite messing up Shadow's characterization in IDW. One thing I loved that Sonic mentioned Tangle, so it looks like she, Whisper and the rest (such as new "villains" Surge and Kit) are officially canon-immigrants to the franchise.

KiriSuna (Kirito x Asuna) -  Sword Art Online 

 

 

I recently talked about my thoughts on where things have been with me in the Rebirth and Renewal thread,  and I've been re-exploring a lot of these series that mean a lot to me, and being a light novel reader... Sword Art Online was obviously the first one I ever had my hands on especially when it came to Sword Art Online Progressive -  the story that only focuses on Aincrad in greater detail.  I've mentioned it here and there throughout the years, but Kirito and Asuna are honestly like in my top 3 canon couples.

 

I wouldn't exactly say it was perfect if we were just going off the anime for Season 1. However, so much more gets explored in the progressive light novels and you get to really see the early stages of their bond prior to them becoming a couple and it just really elevated my love for these two so much more than I initially thought.    Recently, the movie Sword Art Online:  Progressive - Aria of a Starless Night hit crunchyroll and I saw it last night which...  It was so nostalgic diving back into the world of SAO since Alicization ended, and I couldn't help but get hit right in the heart with a lot of Kirito and Asuna's innocence.  Especially when it was like super early Aincrad when they were still for the most part green.

 

 

This movie I will say reminded me why I fell in love with Kirito and Asuna's love story and it's really taking me on a nostalgia trip with Sword Art Online. It's even motivating me to get back into re-reading the light novels again.

IzuOcha (Izuku x Ochako (Deku x Uravity))  

 

 

I have been a longtime shipper of IzuOcha when My Hero Academia was only on Chapter 3, and seeing the continuing growth in their relationship has been one of my favorite aspects about this series.  Honestly, I can't wait to see the day Izuku and Ochako become a couple, or at the very least heavily implied that they got together.

Honestly,  this one should not come as any surprise because I've always talked about my love for Rave Master, and my current immersion with Edens Zero as well. 

 

 

 

NaLu (Natsu x Lucy) - Fairy Tail/100 Years Quest 

 

 

 

I've always liked the idea of Natsu and Lucy as a romantic pair, but one thing I was never like super big on it because compared to HarLie (Haru x Elie) from Rave Master I didn't feel like a lot of their moments felt as intimate as they should've been in terms of romantic chemistry....  Their dynamic as a whole I've always really appreciated throughout the main series. 

 

 

I do wanna say this though,    Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest has completely turned that perspective around for me a lot when it comes to Natsu x Lucy as a romantic couple together.  It's even really helped me and appreciating the moments they have a lot more in the original series too. 

 

The moment I'm sharing is from 100 Years Quest, and that is my ultimate NaLu moment right there!

AsaDen (Asa x Denji) - Chainsaw Man

 

*Sighs* Dammit, he got me. After reading Chapter 115, Fujimoto's got me. I'm at the point where I am passively supporting the developing relationship between Asa and Denji in Chainsaw Man. And I'm reluctant to ship them, not because I think they're a bad pairing - the exact opposite, in fact.  I love the discordant resonance between their personalities and the chemistry that they have together; it's hilarious and endearing. But this is bloody Chainsaw Man, so I am fully expecting this to end in tragedy.

Kagomaru, I know exactly how you feel about AsaDen (or DenAsa)  when it comes to the Chainsaw Man series. When Part 2 started I noticed some similarities between Denji and Asa, but I wasn't at a point where I was like it's definitely a possibility that they'll get together. Truth be told,  since it is Chainsaw Man I am not exactly having super high expectations on this actually coming to fruition, but I do love the interactions that they have together. 

 

But since this Fujimoto, we should definitely keep our guard up!

And Im gone get back into it. I support the whole waiting until the end for Natsu to get the girl thing or in Fairy Tails case, Lucy to get the boy. I support that kind of thing in general. Hiro is doing it right.
