Ok, so this has been bugging the hell out of me for quite some time now.

I've seen this in multiple fics and I think I need to ask:

WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH ITACHI AND POCKY?!?

Not that it's not completely and utterly hilarious, because it is. But does this actually come from canon somewhere (hell if i can remember), or was it just something that started in fanfics and has since been picked up due to its unending amusement value?

I am gonna guess it is not cannon. I don't think I have ever heard of anything relating to him and pocky. I could be wrong, but that really to me seems like something from bad fan fiction.

It's a fanmade belief that Itachi likes pocky.

I think in the databooks he likes Natto or something.

I saw it in about every humorous fanfic. I guess its fanon not canon. But you got to wonder who started...

that's pretty much what i figured.

And I will reassert my belief that this concept is hysterical.

I actually read a scene where there was a major battle going on and Itachi was mysteriously missing. Every few paragraphs, the author would cut to him in a candy story meticulously going through the racks of Pocky and weighing the pros and cons of each type. After most of a chapter of this, he finally selected his box and left the store, only to have it incinerated by a stray Katon jutsu. What followed was one of the worst beatings in the history of mankind.

I laughed my ass off the entire time.

Of course Itachi loves Pocky, who doesn't? I'm sure he massacred his entire clan because they forgot to buy him a box for Christmas. In fact, the 3rd Ninja wars were started because of trade disputes between Rock and Grass over the pocky embargo to Suna. Pocky is such a precious commodity that on the side Akatsuki members use most of their profit to buy it. Why do you think Kakuzu was so stuck-up about making money. Most of their budget went towards buying it. Orochimaru left Konoha because when Yondaime was elected as the new Hokage, the first thing he did was ban Men's Pocky. That didn't settle well with poor Orochimaru and he left the village vowing to destroy it. That's also the reason why Kabuto is his faithful lackey cause he's down with the Men's Pocky as well. As you can see, all the major events in the Naruto world revolve around Pocky so how could you say that it isn't important?
