I did notice the difference when coming home Friday evening hours. The moon was indeed a bit bigger. Not sure if it is 10x bigger now than it was on the evening of the 18th on this late night.

I've seen the moon look much much bigger before. The only real difference I saw tonight between the moon normally and this moon, was the fact that the 'super moon' was bright as hell! I mean super bright. I couldn't look straight at it for too long without having to squint my eyes. It was like having the world's most powerful flashlight shining down from the sky.

"People add words when they want things to sound more important than they really are. "Boarding process." Sounds important; it isn't. It's just a bunch of people getting on an airplane! People like to sound important. Weathermen on television talk about "shower activity". Sounds more important than "showers." I even heard one guy on CNN talk about a "rain event". I swear to God, he said, "Louisiana is expecting a rain event." And I thought, "Holy kitten, I hope I can get tickets to that!"" -The Incomperable George Carlin.

I did notice a full moon last night, but I didn't know about this super-moon thing. It looked like any full moon to me, although I did have experience with bigger. I was just surprised looking at it because it was a full, clear moon, enough that I could make out that full circle shape and it just happened to be in an okay spot outside my window. It's interesting to know that it was closer, but I'm afraid that here in Ontario maybe we didn't get the best effect. Alas, but it was pretty all the same.

The moon would have to be much, much closer than that to have severe catastrophic events across the world. Like the article says, it maybe effects earthquakes by a 1% increase (10% if it's low tides + at the Pacific Northwest). Could it have been related to Japan's situation, or is this a case of cosmic coincedence? I dunno. I'm facsinated how everything in our world is so in place, that the position of the sun and moon are a safe distance, but still enough to have some influence and help us maintain our biosphere.

Nah, that's the direct quote. Only 'kitten' was censored, but that was automatically by the forum's naughty-word system.

Apparently it depended on when and where you were located to *truly* see the 'Supermoon'. I spoke to a couple of my co-workers and the moon they saw was HUGE and *red*. These are a couple images of what tons of other people saw:

Anyone else constantly thinking Sailor Moon whenever Supermoon is mentioned? Just me? D;

That third picture is something a lil like what I saw... Except not as pretty and you couldn't see the details as much. It was bright like that though (not red, more like pale yellow) and I could tell because it was making that cross of light in the sky that it was probably something different that day. Alas, I didn't think to take a picture. The moon is pretty~
