Denim let me change that to a NaruSaku ok. Id rather you do one your comfy with same theme and all jsut naruto and Sakura instead of Scarlet and Snakes.

Eh, fair enough, lol. I remember watching G.I Joe...when I was like...um...young enough laugh.gif

I'll just go NaruSaku I guess, heh. (Although I did always find Snake Eyes to be just plain awesome).

heh yeah he and Scarlet were the two best characters in the series and their relationship was just plain epic. Still torques me off what they did to it in the movie.

Either rate cant wait to see NaruSaku to that premise and plot.

Hi, kids! Remember me? No? Well, I remember all of YOU! biggrin.gif

Yeah, back in college, living in a house across from campus with a few friends I know. We got the internet about a week ago, and I've been doing lots of Biology work lately, so I hope you all understand my lack of updates. I think after this list of requests is all taken care of, I'm going to start doing a few of my own ideas again. I've been having plot bunnies lately, so why not take care of them on here?

Anyway, here's krisk's long overdue drabble request of Night CrawlerxShadowcat (or KurtxKitty). It's a bit less romantic and more unrequited love/friendship side of things. I had a bit of difficulty in molding this one out, so hope it's at least half-way good!

Give it Time --Click here to view--

“Get over it. There's no sense in brooding in the past.”

Kurt Wagner, also known as Nightcralwer, looked to his left to see Logan, otherwise known as Wolverine, leaning against the doorway of the balcony. Turning back around, Kurt just grunted, “I never asked for you to be concerned about me.”

“Was that you talking back to me?” Logan raised an eyebrow, “Yeesh, she must have had a worse effect on you than I thought. You never had a backbone before...”

“Just stop talking about it!” Kurt growled, “Kitty's with them now. That's all there is to say about it! I don't need anyone consoling me.”

Logan shook his head, “Whatever you say, kid.” Pushing himself off the wall, he headed back inside, making a mental note to have Dr. Xavier keep a closer watch over the boy. He was a loose cannon right now with the way things were going.

This recent one-eighty in Kurt's usually cheerful and optimistic mood was due to the leave of Kitty Pryde from the X-Men and joining S.H.I.E.L.D. She joined for a few reasons; helping keep the world safe from fellow superhumans and mutants, maintaining peace in the civilized world...and because Lance Alvars joined as well.

Lance Alvars, or Avalanche, had once been one of X-Men's enemies. Now, he was running around playing the role of hero with S.H.I.E.L.D. Sure, it was a good cause, but Kurt still didn't fully believe that Lance had become a person who would do good. Then again, he never thought Kitty would abandon everyone, especially him, for a guy.

Deciding to get something to eat, Kurt headed down to the dining area of the mansion, grabbing a bit of whatever had been left over from dinner. He ate quietly, intent on keeping to himself.

“Kurt? What are you doing down here by yourself?”

The teleporter looked up from his plate to see Rogue walking into the dining hall as well. Kurt didn't show it, but he was a bit upset with having his dinner interrupted. After all, he still was angry at the unfairness of the world. She had no right to ruin his day by casually asking what he was doing by himself about a half hour after dinner had ended...

...or maybe Kurt was just being immature about everything...

“I'm just eating now. I wasn't hungry earlier.” Kurt replied quietly before returning to his meal.

Rogue seemed to know better though, “Kurt, I know you...cared for Kitty, but she-”

“Not you too.” Kurt grumbled, getting up to leave, “I'm fine, okay? No need to worry!”

Before Rogue could say another word, the teen disappeared in a brief flash and puff of smoke. Rogue sighed, “He's really having a hard time getting over this...”

“Give it time,” came the gruff voice of Logan, who was leaning against a wall in the room facing out to the balcony, “The kid's just got to get over it by himself.”

- - - - -

The months flew by for Kurt. He did the occasional mission with the other X-Men, but aside from that, he wasn't ever around the mansion except to eat or sleep. Then again, he really didn't make an effort for himself to be noticed.

That, or he kept himself shut up in his room.

Kurt was sitting on his bed, head propped on the headboard as he listened to some music with his headphones on.

Knock, knock!

Opening one eye, he sighed before getting up from his bed. He walked over to the door, and opened it, ready to ask whoever it was to leave.

The words never came, though.

“...hey, Kurt.”

The teleporter blinked. He looked at the person standing before him before speaking, his voice barely above a whisper, “Kitty?”

Sure enough, it was her. She had a large duffel bag on either shoulder, and she looked everywhere but at him, “I...I had no where else to go to...”

“Does the Professor know you're here?”

“Of course he does.” Kitty said, “Um...can I come in?”

He nodded, “Uh, yeah, sure.”

The two were soon sitting in Kurt's room, the silence so tense that it was deafening for the two. Kitty took in a deep breath and exhaled, “Rogue told me all about the past couple of weeks for you...”

Kurt rolled his eyes, “Well, whatever they said was probably blown out of proportion...”

“They said you hardly ever show your face around here these days.”

“...why are you back here, Kitty?” the question held no malice. More like...weariness.

“S.H.I.E.L.D. Just wasn't my thing, I guess. I quit, and after that, Lance and I had some differences, so...”

“What did he do?” Kurt asked, his voice rising a bit.

“Nothing, nothing...it was a mutual one this time. We just wanted to call it off before we broke our friendship as well.” Kitty replied, holding up a placating hand, “I just was trying to find a place to stay until I get back on my feet.”

“...so you'll leave again?”

Kitty frowned, “Kurt, please don't act like this. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with myself, to be honest.”

“You sure didn't have a problem letting Lance make up your mind for you.”

“That's not fair, Kurt! It was my choice to start with; he just happened to go to S.H.I.E.L.D as well.” Kitty frowned, “I mean...I'm sorry that I didn't say goodbye, but-”

“That's not the reason why I'm upset, Kitty.” Kurt interrupted, shaking his head, “Forget it.” He looked to her again, “I'm just glad to see you again...how have you been lately?”

“Busy...” She shrugged her shoulders, “Exhausted. Ugh, longest flight I've been on in awhile getting back here.”

“Oh.”

They were again silent, the sound of their breathing the only audible noise in the room.

“So...”

Kurt looked up, “So?”

“How about you? Are you...doing alright?”

“I'm fine.” He said, “Keeping busy with my job at the mall. Helping the other students studying here when I can.”

“That's good to hear.” Kitty replied. She shook her head and sighed, “Kurt, I'll just get to the point; I missed being here.”

Kurt grunted, “I was thinking you'd say that.”

Kitty frowned, “What's that supposed to mean?”

He just laughed, “Oh, nothing...I just can't see you staying away from us for too long.”

Kitty looked down, “Oh.”

“I'm glad you're back.”

“Yeah...me too.”

“I...” Kurt paused, his face screwed up in thought as he spoke, “I would like to try again, Kitty.”

“You mean...us?”

“Yeah. I want to give us,” He made a gesture referring to the two of them, “another shot.”

She scratched her arm, “Kurt...I just broke up recently...I need time.”

“Fair enough...but, if you want to talk, I'll be here.”

Kitty gave a small smile, “I will. I know I can count on you Kurt.”

Kitty got up and said she was going to go to her room and get organized. Kurt shut his door, and sighed.

Who did he think he was? Kitty didn't see him that way...he was like an brother to her. She had clearly stated that once to him before they had broken up almost two years ago. Though he cared about preserving their friendship, sometimes he just wished that she would be able to understand his feelings once and awhile.

Well, at least she trusted him. She was his friend, too. Probably his best friend.

For now, he'd do with just that. He hoped that maybe, just maybe, that they could give the idea of dating a second chance.

Kurt was a patient man though, at least when he needed to be. He would wait for her answer to that question, whenever it came.

Okay, another request fulfilled! Here's the NaruSaku requested by RyrineaHaruno and GnosisMaster. Hope you enjoy it!

The Best Kind of Hospitalization --Click here to view--

Sakura looked down the hall of the west wing of the Konoha Hospital before shutting the door, locking it with a barely audible click. She turned to see the sleeping form of a blond haired man on the bed, bandages wrapped around his head, torso, and pretty much his entire right leg. He was, of course, perfectly fine, but Kakashi-sensei insisted that he get at least three days rest.

After all, it wasn't natural for a person to survive an explosion that cleared a good two acres of bamboo forest. Naruto had been pissed at Kusa for that one, considering he was also a Sage. Damage to nature was always a personal thing to him.

She smiled a bit as he opened his unwrapped and visible eye, blinking the sleep away a few times before giving her a grin, “Sakura? Damn, this is a good start to my morning...”

Sakura gave a giggle, “Shush. I'm not even supposed to be here right now.” She saw him raise an eyebrow before she gave him a smirk, “Not that they'd have anything to say about it if they found me here.”

“So what's up? Here to change my bandages?”

Sakura shrugged, “If you want, sure. I was just stopping here to make sure my fiancé didn't lose a leg or anything.” She frowned as he looked away, “What were you thinking? I was told that your squad knew the area was littered with traps...” Sighing, she looked down at the chart she picked up from the foot of his bed, “Are you okay?”

“Fine. My pride hurts more than anything else for letting Kusa destroying the bamboo forests and whatever else was in the area.” He chuckled a bit, “Although, I am surprised to find that they set that trap up for me specifically.”

Sakura felt a smile tug at her lips once more, “Baka...” She ran a hand over his long locks of blond hair, “You need a haircut.”

“Like hell I do.” Naruto pouted, “Ino gave me one three months ago.”

“She didn't cut it short enough, apparently.”

He folded his arms, “Well, Tenten and Ino say my hair looks fine long.”

Sakura grinned, “I still say that you could stand to cut it once in awhile.”

Naruto gave a grunt of annoyance before Sakura burst into another fit of giggles, “Oh, stop being such a sourpuss. Besides...” she ran the fingers in his hair down to his cheek, then down his neck, “You wouldn't want me to get upset and leave, would you?”

Blue eyes darted to meet emerald, “Sakura...”

Her half-lidded eyes batted seductively, “I've already locked the door...”

“Yeah...but you're a bit of a screamer when we-ow! Okay, okay, sorry.”

Sakura's blush didn't leave her face as she walked to the door and placed a small tag on the door. Folding her hands into a seal, she activated a temporary soundproofing jutsu on the room. Turning back to Naruto, she sighed, “It's been almost a whole month since I really got to see you.”

Naruto had a guilty frown on his face, “Well...I'm sorry. Iwa's been tenacious in their attacks lately, and I'm one of the few with the abilities to take down a whole enemy front in less than an hour. If Rock Lee were helping me, that'd be probably cut to a half hour, but...”

Sakura placed a finger over his lips, “It's okay.” She crawled onto the bed, straddling his hips as she rested her forehead on his, “I'm just glad you come back alive.”

Naruto let out a breath as she undid his bandages, running kisses down her collarbone as she took off her scrubs, “I worry about you all the time out in the field...”

Sakura let out a moan as she felt him nip her neck a little before she looked down to him, “You worry about me?” She gave a cute smile, “I'm safe here in Konoha.”

“Sakura...” He frowned, “We're at war...the village is a prime target.”

She ran a hand down his bare chest, “I know. You're a prime target though, in case you forgot. Sai says the money that Iwa and Oto have placed on you is the highest that any ninja has had in over two decades. Even Kakashi-sensei admits that he never gained so much fame and notoriety with other shinobi villages when he was your age.”

“Heh.” Naruto smirked proudly, “Well, that's because I rock.”

Sakura rolled her eyes, “Regardless, almost all the staff here tries to support me like I'm some helpless girl waiting for her lover to return home from some war overseas. It's like a cliché romance novel or something.”

Naruto and Sakura were no both bare to the world, aside from a little bit bandage that Sakura decided to keep wrapped around his leg, “I missed you.”

Sakura smiled, “Not as much as I missed you.”

Naruto's eyebrows knitted together before he gave her a cheeky grin, “Oh?'

“Yeah. I nearly asked Konohamaru to pose as you with a henge.”

“...”

Sakura laughed, “I'm joking, Naruto.”

“That's not funny.” Naruto said with a childish pout, only to have his wife-to-be to lock lips with him. He groaned as she ran a hand down his unwrapped torso, “Gah...”

Sakura had a special technique she discovered after a little practice. By using a little chakra, she could stimulate muscles to twitch a little. The result was a rather pleasant sensation that Naruto had grown to love. The fact that he continually had tight knots from continuous and rigorous use of his of his body in battle only furthered the wonderful sensation.

“S-Sakura-chan...” Naruto whispered as she stopped on his navel, “S-stop teasing me like that.”

Sakura, despite how polite and well-mannered she acted, had a thing for being the dominant one in their relationship. Naruto, much to her surprise, was just fine with it. He sometimes would fight back, and that was always fun for the rosette. He was both gentle and rough at the same time.

He had become a drug to her. A wonderful, loving, ever-giving drug that she would do anything to spend the rest of her life with...or die for.

Tender caressing soon became more heated. Kisses deepened. Breathes became quicker. Names were spoken in frantic, needy whispers. The air between them was intoxicating for them.

“N-Naruto, I...”

Their bout of passion was interrupted as the sound of the doorknob being jiggled, “What the-?”

“Oh crap.” Sakura spoke, “Naruto, who's been checking up on you?”

“Naruto-kun...? Um, are you awake?”

Sakura looked back to Naruto, and mouthed the words, 'Hinata?', receiving a nod from the blond. Cursing under her breath, Sakura scrambled to pick up her clothes.

“Naruto, I'm unlocking the door. O-okay?”

“Hinata, just a second, I'm getting changed!”

“Naruto, the door is soundproofed, remember?” Sakura spoke.

Naruto grumbled, “Damn!” He threw Sakura her scrubs, pointing towards the closet where he kept his clothes, “Go, I'll try and get her out of here as quickly as possible!”

Sakura practically dove into the closet as the door opened. Hinata looked around the room before seeing Naruto sitting up in his bed, smiling his classic foxy smile, “Heheh, um...hey, Hinata.”

Hinata gave Naruto a disapproving frown, “Naruto-kun, you can't go locking the door to your room. What if you were having a spasm or trying to get our attention and the buzzer stopped working?”

“Sorry, Hinata-chan.” Naruto spoke, “I guess I just wanted some real rest. You know how I am about being woken up all the time.”

Hinata had become an intern at the hospital studying under Sakura's supervision. She gave Naruto a small smile, “I understand. Please don't do that in the future though. It's for your own safety.” She went to the closet, “I have to run some simple tests and take a blood sample. It'll be over in just a few-”

“Ah, Hinata, not that clos-”

The Hyuuga heiress opened the closet, and blinked before taking a step back, “Ah! S-Sakura-san?!”

Sakura, who was still half-undressed with a crimson hue on her cheeks, spoke, “Um...hey, Hinata.”

Hinata put everything together, and her own cheeks heated up, “Oh my...I...” She looked down, “I..I didn't k-know that you were v-visiting N-Naruto-kun. I-if I had known I would have given y-you two some privacy.”

Sakura was thankful that Hinata didn't need anything explained. It still didn't help her embarrassment, “Um...I guess this is payback for walking in on you and Kiba then, heh...”

Hinata went cherry red before looking down, fingers fidgeting, “I won't tell anyone...”

Sakura spoke in a low whisper, “Same, though I have to admit at least you had the decency to keep a 'Do Not Disturb' sign over the door that you stole from the hotel down the street. I thought it was a joke, heheh.”

Hinata quickly left, apologizing profusely and blushing all the while before she practically stumbled out the door.

Naruto looked to Sakura, “Wow...she took that pretty well.”

Sakura grinned, “Don't worry. I have a feeling she's going to pretend this never happened.” She turned to face Naruto again, “So...I'll run the tests she was going to perform.”

Naruto smiled mischievously, “Is that it? We could always call Hinata back and have her help after-”

Sakura smacked Naruto over the head with the clipboard while he laughed, “Pervert.” She went to the closet with the supplies, and turned back to face him, “Although...I can come back later tonight after visiting hours are done...”

The blond just smiled, knowing full well that this would probably be one of his more enjoyable stays in the Konoha hospital.

Alright, cati's request for NaruSaku is done! Phew...hm, I suppose I could have done worse with the theme. Hopefully this will appeal to you, catsi, lol.

Revival of Naruto Uzumaki --Click here to view--

“Sakura, come on! We got to get out of here, now!!!”

Ino tugged on Sakura's arm, although this was about as simple as pushing a mountain for the blond. Sakura was fighting tooth and nail to get back into the underground base where a group of Otogakure shinobi were fighting Naruto. They had planted explosives around the chamber's walls, and in less than two minutes the whole place would be like hell on Earth.

“Let me go! He's still down there! I can't let him stay down there while there's bomb tags all-”

“Sakura, it's too late!” Ino shouted, shaking her best friend a bit, “Naruto gave us the time we need to escape! Don't let that sacrifice of his be in vain!! What would I say to Naruto if you got killed in the explosion after he did everything in his power to make sure you got out of there?! I won't betray his trust like that!”

Sakura stopped fighting, her body not moving as she looked to the opening that lead down into the tunnels, “I...” She looked away, “You're right...”

Ino and Sakura, along with Sai, Kiba, and an unlikely addition, Sasuke Uchiha, ran out of the entrance an into the open air.

“...we need to meet up with the reconnaissance team north of here.” Sasuke spoke, not looking towards the others, “Naruto said that we have twenty minutes to reach them at the rendezvous point before they move onward. If we inform them that we took out the base here, we could save them some unneeded effort in patrol.”

The others nodded, and began to run northward. Sakura took one last look back at the tunnel before running with the rest of the group.

About a minute later, there was a rumbling sensation that ran through the ground, followed by an explosion that echoed through the woods. The five closed their eyes, knowing that their blond teammate was likely still in the base, trying his damned hardest to get out of there while taking out anyone that threatened his friends' safety.

Sakura let out a few silent tears as she continued running.

'Naruto...' She felt something akin to ice dropping into the pit of her stomach. Something told her that he hadn't made it. She desperately wanted to think otherwise, but it was next to impossible for her to do.

- - - - -

Naruto lay near the collapsed entrance of the underground base where Oto-ninja had been meeting for attacks on Fire Country's borders. Despite the fact that he had stayed behind, summoning over thirty clones to fight along with him while the others escaped, a part of him was happy. Sasuke had just killed Kabuto, and then, much to their surprise, tagged along with the group of young ANBU. The Fourth Shinobi War was just full of surprises...

Even more important than that was the fact that Sakura would make it out alive with everyone else. That by itself was worth dying for.

Something was crushing his ribcage. He guessed that by the immense pressure that it was a good half ton of soil, maybe some wooden support beams.

To think that he'd die so...anticlimactically. He just hoped that Kakashi wouldn't blame himself for sending Naruto's squad to take out the enemy. Naruto had volunteered his team, after all.

It was rather dark, now that he took the time to try—key word being try—and look around, he noticed that he was indeed buried by dirt. Hell, he was pretty sure he wasn't breathing...

He closed his eyes, and let out a weak, choked breath. At least he'd died saving his friends. That would definitely be something a Hokage would do...

- - - - -

A shadow walked out from underneath the roots of a tree that was high above most of the soil. The area had been drained not too long ago, seeing as Kabuto wasn't keen on having his base underneath a swamp. The cypress trees however, still retained their roots above the ground. It provided a few secret escapes should the situation arise. As such, a hidden exit was put underneath this particular tree.

Sasuke had, in a sense, killed him. Kabuto, however, had managed to revive himself thanks to his combined power with what remained of Orochimaru's tissue that was fused to him. The current leader of Otogakure was, in a sense, nearly immortal.

The hole in his chest was nearly healed. He adjusted his glasses as he walked towards the collapsed entrance of his base. He had sensed it; the Kyuubi's chakra trying to help get Naruto out of the suffocating soil. Unfortunately for the demon fox, the blond had long lost function of his movements, his spine having been crushed. Now the malevolent chakra was quickly fading.

Kabuto smiled as he went through several hands signs before the soil parted quickly, revealing the unconscious blond. In fact, after the silver haired shinobi placed a hand over the boy's neck, he concluded the blond was clinically dead. No pulse, but he may still have time.

“Hm...this could be a great opportunity for me.” Kabuto mused. His glasses reflected the sunlight as he bent down and set to work with the fallen Jinchuuriki. Yes, he would bring Naruto back, but he'd be far from what he once was.

Kakashi gave the young man across the table from him a stern gaze. Even the ANBU felt a bit on edge as they stood in the corners of the poorly-lit room. It was rare for Kakashi Hatake to leak out killer intent so openly.

The Rokudaime Hokage of Konoha was known for being an rather laid back individual, not worrying too much about problems, and remaining calm when the time called for it.

“Alright, Sasuke, give me one good reason why I shouldn't have you placed in one of the maximum security cells in the ANBU Detention Block.”

Sasuke didn't blink, used to such open hostility in Oto, “I don't have a good reason other than the fact that I helped out the ANBU team sent out to destroy the Otogakure base. That's all I have.”

“I suppose that would be a good enough reason. The problem is that you also betrayed the village you supposedly were allied with, not including the fact that said village was the one you left Konoha for.”

“I don't need to be lectured.”

The sound of the back of a fist meeting flesh run clearly through the room. Sasuke grunted as he hit the floor, Kakashi standing over him with a cold glare on his features, “Take that tone with me again and I'll order your execution, Sasuke. Don't think you're immune to punishment because of your Sharingan.” He pulled the Uchiha to his feet, seeing as the young man was tied by the wrists and ankles, and had chakra restraints on both arms and legs as well, “I lost one of my best ANBU captains, damn it! Not to mention that very captain was like a son to me.”

“It's unbecoming for a Hokage to take personal interest in his shinobi.”

“I take personal interest in all of my shinobi.” Kakashi retorted, taking his seat across from the Uchiha, “Now...” The Rokudaime Hokage fixed his hat a bit as he looked to the now bruised face of Sasuke, “What do propose I do in regards to you being here?”

Sasuke shrugged, “Don't know, entirely. I just had enough of Otogakure. My brother died saving Naruto from Akatsuki a year and a half ago, so I have no need to go and seek revenge on a dead man.”

“I see...” Kakashi folded his hands, trying to decide if he should inform Sasuke about the Uchiha clan's secret involving the reason behind the massacre, “Listen, Sasuke. I don't trust you. I'll let you know that from the start. We're at war with Ame, Iwa, Kusa, Oto, and possibly Kiri. We have the support of Taki, Yumi, and Kumo, but other than that we have our hands tied with this war. If you're willing to provide us with information on Otogakure's outposts, and any intelligence on their plans, I'll be willing to give more trust to you, maybe even give you probationary status in our shinobi community.”

One of the ANBU stepped forward, “Hokage-sama, you can't be-”

“Silence, Kiba.” Kakashi spoke, his voice calm yet firm, “I know you have a personal dislike for him, but I'm willing to let him redeem himself.”

“I...” Kiba sighed, the dog-masked Inuzuka stepping back a bit, “I understand, Hokage-sama.”

Sasuke looked to the Hokage, and then to the four ANBU in the room. He already knew one of them was Kiba. He guessed from appearance that the female in the opposite corner of the Inuzuka was Ino. He didn't know who the other two were, but both appeared to be male.

“Fair enough. I have intelligence on Oto that I'll share with you.” Sasuke replied, “I have no affiliation with them anymore anyway. Not after killing Kabuto.”

Kakashi's visible eyebrow rose, “You killed Kabuto?”

“Yes. I can never be too sure with that man, since he could probably fake his own death if he wanted, but a Chidori to the heart is something few can survive.”

The Rokudaime sighed, “Well, this certainly helps us. Very well. Just start off with whatever you know about Oto's layout, any people that may take command, and anything else you may know about our enemies.”

Sasuke nodded, and began to rattle off everything that came to mind about Oto.

- - - - -

About three months had passed since Naruto had been listed in the KIA list of Konoha. Three months since Sasuke had given vital information to Konoha on Otogakure's plans for the war, and just about everything else valuable for the Hidden Leaf that he could think of.

The Uchiha was now sitting in his single room flat, eating a simple dish of rice, vegetables, and some fish that he had made. He felt the presence of ANBU outside the building, but didn't think much of it. He had no reason to raise his blade to any of them. As of right now, Konoha was his only home.

Kakashi had given him the story of the planned coup d'etat on Konoha. To think that his whole clan had been planning that...

Maybe Itachi wasn't such a sadistic person after all. He did the only thing a responsible shinobi that was loyal to his village would do; eliminate the threat. Sure, there were some sour grapes between Sasuke and the elders, but he let the anger die after he realized he had no reason to dwell in the past. For now, he was focused only on helping end this war, and then maybe try and bring back what little honor he had to his own name.

A knock at his door alerted him to the fact that there were several individuals waiting for him outside his home. He got up, and unlocked the door while looking through the partially opened gap between the door and entrance, “Yeah?”

Three ANBU stood at his door. He easily identified them as Sakura, Kiba, and Sai. The Inuzuka spoke, “Hokage-sama wishes to speak with you. It regards Kabuto.”

Sasuke tilted his head to the side, “Kabuto? I thought he was-”

“Nope. He apparently lived through the attack on the base a few months back.” Sakura added, “Let's go, it's urgent.”

The four made it to the Hokage Tower as quickly as possible. As they entered the office of the Rokudaime Hokage, the silver haired man looked up, his face showing exhaustion from an obvious lack of sleep. As the four walked into the room, Kakashi shuffled some papers into a neat pile before speaking, “Alright, I'm going to forewarn you right now; this news is about as far fetched as it gets.”

“What? Did Orochimaru come back from the dead?”

“Well...” Kakashi sighed, “It's both better and worse than that.”

“How?” Sasuke voiced.

Kakashi decided to cut to the chase, “Naruto apparently is alive, and working for Otogakure.”

The office went completely silent as the words of the Hokage echoed in the minds of the four younger shinobi. First to speak was Sakura, “That's impossible. Naruto died three months ago, and even if he was still alive, he'd never-”

“I know, Sakura. I'd say the same, but apparently there's more to this than I'm aware of. One of our moles within Otogakure found Naruto talking to Kabuto.”

“Who? Who was our mole?” Kiba asked, “Oto's been pretty good at cracking down on our forces lately.”

“It's Karin.” Kakashi sighed, “She's been working close with Kabuto. She came to us about two weeks after Sasuke executed Orochimaru and Kabuto took over.”

Sasuke nodded, “Yeah, I remember her. She was one of the top scientists and researchers in Oto.”

“Yes, and she's been working as a sleeper agent for us for about a year now. She confirmed that Naruto Uzumaki is alive and well, and has been brainwashed by Kabuto. He's now a living weapon for Hidden Sound. We've confirmed that he's killed two Jounin from our village, but we're keeping it tightly under wraps. If word gets out that our war hero and supposed martyr is alive and killing our own ninja...” Kakashi didn't finish his explanation, the four already aware of what would result from this getting out to the public.

“What do you want us to do, Hokage-sama?” Sai asked, seeing as no one else was willing to speak.

Kakashi pulled out a scroll from one of his drawers, and spread it out to reveal a map of Fire Country, “Naruto was reported by Karin to be heading towards this part of Fire Country, near a small lake called Kinu Zassou Lake. I've had a small reconnaissance team scout out the area ahead of you. You're to group up with the team and capture Naruto.”

“Capture Naruto? Hokage-sama, with all due respect, the guy's next to impossible when it comes to capturing.” Kiba replied, “How many people are going on this little mission anyway.”

“Including you four, ten total.”

“Ten?” Sakura repeated, “Kakashi-sensei, I don't think that ten's enough. Naruto can overpower an entire platoon with his Shadow Clones alone.”

“I've sent in our best.” Kakashi spoke, “Including you four, Tenten, Neji, Ino, Yamato, Rock Lee, and Anko will be taking part in this.”

The four knew the mission wasn't up for discussion. Kakashi was addressing them as ANBU, aside from Sasuke. As such, refusal of a mission was a major violation of ANBU conduct in most cases.

- - - - -

Within five hours' time the four were at Kinu Zassou Lake. They met at the rendezvous point with the other six.

“We think Naruto plans on moving towards Konoha. Kabuto is going to use him to try and make a dent in the Hidden Leaf's defenses.” Neji spoke as they sat in a small clearing, “The best option would be to capture him by indirect means.”

Sakura and Ino both were the best in the field of genjutsu, so it was agreed that they would take Naruto out by attacking his weakness in resisting illusions. The others would wait until he was caught up in the genjutsu before disarming him and restraining him properly. Sakura made sure to bring a couple of sealing tags, just in case.

Sakura and Ino moved through a field of conifers north of the lake, halting when they felt the faint ripple of another chakra signature. They recognized it immediately as the blond they were after.

A second later, the sound of steel flying through the air could be heard. The two kunoichi dropped from the branch as a spray of shuriken flew made contact with the branch. The two drew out their ninjato as their opponent stepped out of the shadows. He wore a black jumpsuit, not a shred of any other color visible on the clothing. Blue eyes watched the two ANBU closely, “So, you're Sakura Haruno and Ino Yamanaka...”

The voice was definitely Naruto's but it lacked his usual luster and slightly youthful edge that he had. He pulled out a kunai, and got into a ready stance.

“Naruto...don't you remember us?” Ino spoke up, “We were on the same ANBU platoon together. We helped secure the border in Sunagakure when Iwagakure attacked Wind Country...you can't seriously tell me you forgot that.”

Naruto cocked his head to the side, “You seriously think I'm going to fall for that? I've worked for Kabuto-sama for the past five years as his top assassin.” Naruto spun his kunai around a few times before smirking, “Well, whatever the case, I don't have time for this. I've already sent thirty of my clones to take care of your team, so don't worry about them.” He pulled a small paper with a seal written on it, tying it around the handle of his weapon. Sakura's eyes widened; that was Naruto's signature wind release bomb tags he developed in the first year of the Fourth Shinobi War. Getting close to one of could be lethal!

“Ino, move!”

Naruto chucked the kunai at them, the weapon embedding itself in a tree before the tag ignited. The two kunoichi ran as fast as they could before hitting the dirt as an explosion followed by a gust of wind. The two stayed as close to the ground as they could while winds capable of cutting stone whipped just above their heads. They opened their eyes as blades of grass and locks of their hair fluttered to the ground. Ino let out a shaky breath before getting up and helping Sakura to her feet.

“H-he would never throw...” Ino shook her head, “I guess the reports were true; he really has been brainwashed. Leave it to Kabuto to bring back the dead and manipulate their memories.”

The sound of feet hitting the ground caused them to jump away. A second later the place erupted as Naruto's Rasengan smashed into the ground. The two kunoichi looked to each other before going through hand seals in perfect unison.

Naruto smirked, “That's not going to work!” He clenched a fist before releasing a blast of wind, smashing the condensed blast of air and hitting Ino. She cried out in pain before hitting a tree, knocking her out. Sakura cursed her luck just before having to block a kunai with her small blade.

“Wow, you're as strong as they say, Haruno.” Naruto laughed, “I guess Kabuto was right in warning me not to underestimate you.” He pressed harder against her shortened blade.

Sakura grit her teeth before forcing down the guilt and grabbing Naruto by the wrist. She spun around once before heaving him and slamming him into the earth. He let out a gasp as he made impact, coughing up spittle as an indent of his figure was created.

Sakura cocked back a fist and slammed it into the ground, only to hit a log. She growled in frustration as she caught Naruto's chakra signature and chucked a few kunai towards a tree branch. Naruto's figure blurred into view, catching the kunai that had been intended to intercept him. He grinned foxishly while tossing the kunai away, “Not good enough, pinky.”

Katon: Goukakyuu no Jutsu!!”

Naruto's head whipped around just in time to see a giant fireball roaring towards him. He flipped into the air while going through a few seals. He took in a breath before launching a few blasts of water at the assailant.

Sasuke pulled out his katana and quickly sliced through the water projectiles before spinning around and clashing blades with Naruto. His eyes widened as he took a good look at Naruto's blade. It was a silver blade with a amber-colored handle and guard to it. Intricate designs of leaves blowing along the silver's base could be seen in the faint sunlight that escaped through the canopy of trees.

“Kaze Odoriko?” Sasuke whispered. Naruto's blade was akin to a legend in the shinobi world after the Fourth Shinobi War had started, and this was the first time seeing it. Sakura and a few of the others that talked to him after he returned to Konoha had told him about a blade that Naruto had that could command the winds themselves. Right now, Sasuke's Sharingan could see wind chakra spiraling around the blade, condensing around the tip.

“You've heard of my blade?” Naruto laughed, “Heh, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that a genius like you would, right Uchiha?”

The way Naruto addressed Sasuke just seemed alien to his ears. Naruto never referred to Sasuke by anything other than his first name, “You've really fallen far, Naruto...though I guess it's not your fault.”

“Tch, like you're one to talk. Betraying Konoha, then going and stabbing Kabuto-sama in the back.” Naruto's blade howled as winds began to whip around it, “Don't go calling the kettle black, Uchiha!”

Sasuke was forced to back away as razor winds lashed out at him. He hissed in pain as a few cuts ran down his arm. He channeled electricity through his blade before slamming it into the ground, the current running through the earth and hitting Naruto.

The blond cried out as he was electrocuted, though Sasuke had toned down the power greatly from killing power to stun.

Unfortunately, Naruto seemed to be fighting off the lightning based chakra by releasing wind chakra. The wind power canceled out Sasuke's attack, and Naruto breathed in a few times before smiling, “Damn, I guess I was asking for that. I won't get careless again.”

Sakura jumped over to Sasuke's side. She steeled her gaze as she met Naruto's eyes, “Naruto! You're under a mind control technique! Kabuto's been manipulating you! You're a proud Konoha shinobi, not an Oto-nin! Stop this, please!!”

Naruto was quiet for a moment, his eyes staring off for a moment before he shook his head, “What are you spouting on about, Haruno? I told you already; that crap won't work on me!”

Naruto ran at the two, blade dancing wildly as he attempted to cut the two down. Sakura flipped away while Sasuke parried and dodged what he could. It was hardly successful though, considering for every cut he avoided, small wind blades cut into him.

“Look, I'll make it easy for you two. Give up, and I'll give you wounds that will give you a fifty percent chance of surviving.” Naruto spoke as the two stood on a tree branch opposite of him, “Well?”

Sasuke's Sharingan burned into Naruto's blue eyes. Naruto was still there; he knew it. The bastard was still making jokes and taunting him, but this time there was more malice to him. He needed to reach Naruto. Memory and mind manipulation seals only worked so well. He just needed to force Naruto to remember.

Yet...what would get the old Naruto back?

“Damn, this isn't good, Sasuke. He's fighting just like he used to...” Sakura spoke, pulling out a kunai, “I don't think we can-”

Sasuke grabbed Sakura by the wrist, and she dropped her kunai. Before she could even speak, he restrained her and placed his katana at her neck, “Naruto, stop this now, or I kill Sakura.”

For a moment, Naruto seemed to go silent, his eyes again zoning out. He looked at the Uchiha, his eyes trying to pierce the Sharingan, trying to figure out what he was thinking, “Why should I care about...her?”

Sakura looked panicked, “Sasuke, what are you-?”

“Shut it, Sakura. Your life is in Naruto's hands, now.”

Sakura was shaking a bit. Sasuke's voice wasn't betraying his claim in the least. He pressed the sword against her neck a bit more, and she tried not to move to much.

“You've got a weird way of showing your loyalty, Uchiha. Holding your own allies hostage against the enemy?”

“You don't get it, do you, Naruto?” Sasuke spoke, “Sakura is our teammate. She was the one that believed in you and supported you when times got tough. She once told me that when she had been captured by Kusa-nin that you had stormed the entire base alone just to rescue her.”

“W-what...” Naruto's eye closed, “That's impossible, I've never gone into Kusagakure territor-”

“Fine.” Sasuke spoke, pulling his blade forward a bit, aiming the point at Sakura's throat, “If you won't listen, I'll just end her now.”

“Sasuke, stop!” Sakura spoke.

Naruto's eyes widened. Something in him cracked. He saw the blade heading for Sakura. Wait...Sakura!!!

Clang!

Sasuke smiled as he saw a kunai blocking his blade, directing it away from Sakura's throat. Sasuke dropped the blade handle, letting the sword clatter to the ground.

“You bastard! You were going to kill Sakura-chan?!!” Naruto growled.

“No. I was going to force you to come back to us...” Sasuke replied, “I was taking a risk, but you pulled through, just like I had expected.”

“Wait...what?”

Sakura looked to Sasuke before smiling, “Thanks, Sasuke. I...I shouldn't have doubted you.”

“I don't entirely blame you, Sakura. I betrayed you all once...”

Sakura gave him a sad smile, “I think you've redeemed yourself a bit already.”

“Um...what's going on here?” Naruto spoke, “Did I miss something? Why are we by a lake? Sasuke, are you back with us in Konoha or something?”

Sakura turned to the blond, tears in her eyes. He was back! He was alive! How, she wasn't quite sure...but he was back, and alive!

Naruto's inquiry was cut off as Sakura jumped at him, hugging him until he was pretty sure that he felt a rib crack. He could hear her sob into his chest, and he got worried, “Sakura?”

Her exhaustion was catching up to her. She leaned into his chest and spoke quietly, “I thought I lost you...”

Naruto wasn't anymore aware of the current situation, but held the rosette against him as he tried his best to comfort her.

- - - - -

After Naruto and Sasuke, along with an unconscious Ino and Sakura, met up with the others, the group explained what they knew to Naruto. He was a bit shocked to hear that he had died in a cave-in, and that he had been attacking them. After the seal on his mind was broken, the Shadow Clones that had been attacking the other group were dispelled.

The group decided to take a small break. They were all tired from fighting Naruto clones, and mentally exhausted from the revival of their dear friend.

Sakura lay peacefully in the arms of Naruto as he sat against a tree, cradling her gently. The blond looked over to the Uchiha, who was sitting away from them. He gave his one-time best friend a nod, and the Uchiha smiled a bit before doing the same.

Naruto was still not entirely sure what had happened, but he knew that he had been given a second chance at life. He supposed he owed Kabuto for that. He'd thank the bastard by thrashing him for making him attack his friends.

Right now though, he was more concerned about the girl in his arms. Sakura had been unable to get any decent rest since Naruto's death for the past three months, usually nothing more than five hours a most. For an active medic-ANBU, that was hardly healthy. She needed the rest right now.

“I'm glad to be back, Sakura-chan.” Naruto whispered softly as he rested his head against the tree, drifting off to sleep as well.

Its good Denim. Not quite to your usual standards its missing some of the consistency of your other stories and drabbles. Its my fault I should have specified a little more focus on Sakuras reactions.

It is however an great framework for a solid oneshot or at least a 2 chapter story.

Id definatley love to see you build off that framework and take this to full length, with more details on Sakuras being unable to sleep ((it kind of comes out of nowhere)) and some other things.

Quality job as always Denim and thanks for the story =^__^=

How about a JiraTsu one shot- the day after the Kyuubi attack involving Jiraiya and Tsunade concerned about what's going to happen to baby Naruto (Sarutobi has convinced his reluctant older child, his 19 year old recently married daughter- the future mother of Konohamaru, starting the next day, to care for Naruto while he's a baby and a toddler as practice for when she chooses to have her own children) while a 15 year old Shizune nervously takes care of a newborn (Naruto) in the background. (Shizune's only experience with an infant before that was doing the routine 6 month old checkup for baby Sakura Haruno less than a month before.) Jiraiya and Tsunade leave a even more nervous Shizune alone with Naruto while they go out to talk about the deaths from last night, Orochimaru's recent defection, their sensei having to become Hokage again, etc... as the discussion goes on they get progressively more drunk and hints of their mutual attraction slips out and they end up kissing, but both are so drunk by the time they kiss neither is sure the next day if the kiss was real or just a alcohol fueled dream. (Oh and Jiraiya and Tsunade were 38 years old at that time- still young enough that if they had got together then they could have had a kid or two... maybe have Tsunade drunkly drop some hint about wanting a family...)

Great googly-moogly, what a weekend it's been for me. My birthday on Thursday and Friday I went home to see my folks, an anniversary to celebrate for my friend's grandparents...ugh, I just recently got back to where I could use my laptop, lol.

Well, Vyse, here's my attempt at a crack pairing in a series I have little knowledge about. Thank the high heavens above for Wikipedia and One Piece wiki. Anyway, hope it somewhat appeals to you. I tried, believe me. Nothing against the series, but I know very little about the series. Sorry if this is a little less than what you'd hoped for.

Not So Sadistic --Click here to view--

Luffy opened an eye, wincing as he felt what was likely a bruise twinge in pain from a swollen eye. How did he get here?

Last thing that he remembered was that he was rescuing Ace from Impel Down. He made it through tons of guards, even roughed up a few of the Demon Guards along the way. He was making some good progress through the prison...

...he was drawing a blank. He'd probably be better off not thinking too hard on why the hell he was here in the first place. He'd likely get a headache, and that wouldn't help any.

“Well, finally awake, mmmmm???”

Luffy blinked a few times, his eyes looking ahead to see a blurry figure, obviously woman by the sound of their voice. He groaned a few times before speaking, “Where am I?”

The person walked closer to Luffy, and a bright light was turned on. He squinted before making out the figure of a woman in a style of clothing that would be suited for a dominatrix. Luffy's eyes widened a bit as he suddenly remembered.

Being captured and sent to Level Five, and things had gone down hill from there. Last he heard while in that freezing hell, the others had either failed to escape and rescue Ace or...

Luffy pulled on his restraints that he suddenly became aware of, only to feel what strength he had was gone. He couldn't even stretch his body!

“Don't waste your time, those chains are made with reinforced Seastone! You're Devil Fruit powers are useless here, Luffy D. Monkey!”

Luffy cursed under his breath, and settled for glaring at Chief Guard Sadi-chan, “I'll break out of here, and when I do you'll be the first one who I'm going beat the crap out of! Got it?!”

Sadi-chan laughed, “Oh, is that so?” She brandished a whip, pulling it taut a bit before flicking her hand while a sharp snap was heard throughout the cell.

Luffy grunted in pain, but said nothing more. Sadi-chan frowned, “Hm, a tough guy, mmmm??” She grinned before spinning the tip of the whip around in the air a few times before lashing out again.

The captain of the Straw Hat crew didn't even flinch this time. He just glared with a single open eye, his other one closing from the swelling.

Growling in frustration, the sadistic woman walked straight up to Luffy and decked him clean in the jaw. Blood dribbled down his chin as she stared hard into his eyes, “I'll get you to squirm. I have my methods...”

She left him after that, closing the doors to the cell and turning the lights back down to a dull glow. Luffy hung his head when he was sure that she had left. How the hell did this happen to him? He failed his brother...his friends...everyone!

Luffy was not unaccustomed to getting his hide handed to him, but he also wasn't one to let others get away with doing so to him. For the first time in awhile, Luffy felt helpless. He could even gather enough strength to struggle with the chains.

“Damn it...”

- - - - -

About three days had passed since Luffy had been sent to a personal high-security cell. Impel Down had managed to suppress the riots, and captured most of the prisoners that had escaped. It had been hard, but in the end, the underwater prison had managed to keep it reputation of being practically inescapable.

Sadi-chan had been assigned the personal task of torturing Luffy for the week. Namely because Magellan was so peeved at the fact that the boy had managed to besmirch that amazing record of being impenetrable for twenty years.

Today, Sadi-chan had settled for branding him with hot irons. That got him to scream, but he eventually passed out from the pain. She took personal pride in the fact that prisoners that she passed by when leaving Luffy's cell looked back to the boy's room and winced.

Sitting down in her personal quarters, she worked on filing her nails a bit. That boy was a tough egg to crack. He screamed only so loud, and today had been the first time, too!

“Maybe I'm losing my touch?” She grumbled to herself. Shaking her head, she continued her personal manicure. No, that wasn't possible. She was good at what she did. She'd make that boy know what hell was by the time the week was up. Death would be a walking relief by the time she was finished with him.

- - - - -

Sadi-chan stood there before the boy, unmoving as she threw her salt and lemon juice containers to the floor. Those cuts were fresh, and that salt and lemon juice were top quality. He should be screaming in agony!!

“What are you?” She growled as she took a step closer to him, “What kind of brat walks into the most terrifying prison to supposedly save a high class criminal like Portgas D. Ace? Hmmmm??!”

Luffy just grinned a bit, “A guy who cares about his brother. That's what I am. Portgas would probably be pissed off to find out I got captured and imprisoned for trying to save him, but I don't care. He's family to me.” Luffy winced a bit as some lemon juice fell into his eyes, “This torture isn't working anymore. You can't get me to scream, Sadi-chan. I'm made of tougher stuff that other people.”

Sadi-chan was quiet, but her frown was not as fierce anymore. She cocked her head to the side as she spoke, “You're doing this all to save your brother?”

“Yeah.”

She paused for awhile as she turned around. She mumbled a few things to herself before whirling around, a smirk on her face, “Hmmph. Well, I'm cutting this torture session short, boy. Consider yourself lucky.” She strutted out of the cell while leaving Luffy a little confused.

- - - - -

The fifth day was an odd one for Luffy. Instead of the usual yelling and beatings, Sadi-chan merely smacked him across the head a few times when he referred to her simply as 'Sadi' instead of her full name. She even gave him more food than normal for lunch.

“So, I take it you're a pirate as well.” Sadi-chan asked, receiving a nod from the boy as he engorged the food she handed him.

“Yeah,” he began after inhaling a whole turkey leg, “I have a crew out somewhere. I got separated from them, and I heard that Ace was being imprisoned here. I would have gone looking for my crew, but I wanted to save my brother more, so...” He shrugged, “I just hope that everyone's doing alright.”

Sadi-chan, for once in her life, was unsure what to do. Usually she'd just whip them and torment them for awhile. Although, most prisoners were trying to break out, not break in. This boy had risked his own neck to save a brother of his...though she was pretty sure they weren't even related by blood, if her knowledge on the background of the two was accurate.

“You were pretty stupid to break in here.” Sadi-chan stated as she got up, “It's...a little admirable to see someone going so far for family...” She kicked Luffy in the shin, more for her own pleasure than his, earning a grunt of pain from the boy, “...still stupid though.”

She left, and again, Luffy was unsure what to make of it. Although, he was happy to see that she had left the food with him this time.

- - - - -

The sixth day came and went, Luffy never saw Sadi-chan. He received his food from some nameless prisoner, and otherwise slept and tried to bide his time to gather strength to escape from his cell.

The final day of Sadi-chan's week long torture session started early for Luffy, though not in the way he had imagined. He awoke to the sound of a loud clicking of locks being opened. He opened his eyes and saw his chains fall off his wrists and the ones on his feet snap open. He looked around a bit before he heard the sound of knocking. He turned to the fain bit of light coming out from underneath the door, and saw a note slip into the room through the crack.

Picking up the note, he raised an eyebrow as he read three words on the piece of paper.

Give them hell.

The only other thing written on the paper was the letter S. He scratched his head a bit before smiling. S...

“Thanks, Sadi-chan.” Luffy said to himself. He opened the door a bit, and was happy to see no guards were outside.

Running down the halls of Impel Down's fifth floor, Luffy began to head towards Level Six. He'd find out within fifteen minutes that a few other prisoners were released as well, a massive riot ensuing once again. No one knew of Luffy's escape though, which would buy him the time he needed. Even later on still he'd find that many of the allies he'd made in Impel Down had headed towards Level Six as well.

- - - - -

Sadi-chan walked down the halls of Level Four where she could here the ruckus of the riot just below going on. She smiled a bit, knowing full well that her little mutiny she had caused would help Luffy succeed.

She wasn't entirely sure why she let the boy go. Part of her supposed it was that she felt touched by his dedication to his family. Still, though, it was rather unlike her to show compassion for others. There's was just something about the boy. He wasn't bright, and he certainly wasn't the most charming of males she'd ever seen.

She would wait for him to escape. She'd help eventually. Yes, it'd mean she be made an outlaw, but she didn't really care anymore. Impel Down was getting dull anyway. Maybe she could join that boy's crew. She'd find a niche somehow.

“Now, what to do about getting the riot going on Level Three, mmmm?” Sadi-chan mused as she headed up the steps.

Here's the long overdue NarutoxAyame that was requested by Sakura-Kitsune! I've got a few of my own ideas brewing; maybe when the H&E 5th B-day contest is over, I'll whip something up? Who knows, maybe it'll be sooner! Anyway, enjoy!

Advice from the Ramen Girl --Click here to view--

Ayame smiled as the blond teen of sixteen years struggled to with bringing a giant pot of boiling water from the stove to the counter where an assortment of vegetables was placed. She giggled as he cursed at the lack of space for walking before finally setting the giant container of hot water down.

“Phew, alright, Ayame-neechan, all set!” Naruto gave her a grin as he picked up a cutting knife, “What do you want me to cut up first?”

Ayame took a knife as well, “Let's get the greens cut up first. Then we'll go about cutting up the onions and tomatoes.”

Naruto made a face at the mentioning of vegetables, “Blech. Do we have to put in those vegetables?”

The young woman sighed, “Naruto-kun, the vegetables are probably the most important part of making this stew.”

“I thought the beef was.”

“Just...cut up the vegetables. I'll prepare the meat.”

Naruto cut up the various greens into fine slices and dumped them in as Ayame had instructed, then after pouring in some seasoning and putting in the onions and tomatoes, he helped Ayame with cooking the beef.

“You have to be sure to watch the meat carefully. The color is usually a good indicator; if it's red or pink, then it's not ready. If it's black and charred—which it shouldn't get to—then you overcooked it.”

“Okay, got it.”

- - - - -

Twenty minutes later found Naruto and Ayame cooking the stew over the stove top in the back of the Ichiraku ramen bar. Naruto took a whiff of the fine meal, and let out a content sigh, “Man, that smells really good!”

“Just imagine how good it'll taste.” Ayame grinned. Naruto's stomach growled, indicating that the blond was indeed hungry.

When the stew was finally done, the two took a ladle and two large bowls and served themselves a helping of the tantalizing dish.

“Mmmm! This is delicious!!!” Naruto spoke between spoonfuls, “Ayame-neechan, this is the best food I've had in a long time!”

Ayame laughed, “I can't take all the credit though; you helped make it, remember?”

“Heh, I suppose you're right.”

“You know, you're welcome to come here and eat whenever you want, Naruto.” Ayame spoke, a light blush adorning her face, “Dad's getting up there in years, so I'm usually running the place most of the time now by myself. It's good to have regulars stop by.”

“Ah, yeah, sorry about not stopping by as often. This war is really taking up a lot of my free time, with training and whatnot.” the blond replied quietly.

“I understand. You're helping keep all of us safe.” Ayame sighed, “It's too bad; a boy your age should be dating a pretty girl and such.”

It was Naruto's turn to blush a bit, “Uh, w-well, I'm a shinobi, so I don't have a lot of time for that sort of stuff right-”

“Oh please, Naruto. The way I see it, you're just too scared to date a girl, aren't you?” Ayame teased, causing Naruto to turn beet red.

“N-no.” Naruto stuttered.

Ayame leaned closer, resting a hand on his leg, “I can help you, Naruto...”

“E-eh????” Naruto sputtered, nearly falling off his stool. Ayame laughed, dropping the sultry visage and smacking the boy lightly on the shoulder.

“I'm just kidding around, Naruto.”

Naruto placed a hand over his chest, “Oh, good. I wasn't sure what to do there.”

Ayame laughed, “Well, a smart man would take up the offer in a heartbeat.”

“Ayame-neechan!” Naruto spoke, his face contorted in surprise, “You're sounding like a real pervert right now!”

“Hm. You're old enough, Naruto. I think I can be a bit more upfront with you, don't you think?”

“W-well, yeah, but...” Naruto's shoulders slumped in defeat, “...talking about this kind of stuff is a bit weird. I haven't really ever dated before.”

“What about Sakura? Or Hinata, or Ino?? Surely one of the girls in your little group would go for you, right?”

“M-maybe...” Naruto sighed, “I think I screwed myself over though. They all see me as a bit of a goof. That's what I get for being such a loudmouth when I was younger.”

Ayame shook her head, “I disagree. Especially with Sakura.”

“Huh?” Naruto quirked an eyebrow, “What do you mean?”

“If you must know, Sakura's actually become quite a regular to this place, right up until I left for that little trip around the country. She stopped by a lot when you were away with Jiraiya-sama.” Ayame chuckled, “Oh, you should have heard her talk about you and how much she wished she could be as strong as you.”

“Really?”

Ayame nodded, “Mmhmm. In fact, I'm pretty sure I remember her speaking of how she was looking forward to your return. Low and behold, the day you came back, she was ecstatic. When I came back to Konoha, she was going a mile a minute saying how you've gotten so much stronger, and grown taller.”

Naruto was thunderstruck. He knew that Sakura believed in him, but he never knew that she looked up to him, “Wow...”

“I don't think you realize how many people you've impacted the lives of, Naruto. That includes myself.” Ayame spoke, poking him in the chest, “You're a true hero. The way you've continued to protect our village helps me sleep at night, along with many of the other citizens of the village.”

“Ayame-neechan...”

Ayame pushed back a few of the unruly blond locks of hair, and pressed her lips to his forehead, “Now, that's enough saying you're not good enough to date anyone and such. I'm sure that you could probably get any woman to like you. In fact, I'm pretty sure you've already got a few admirers.” She winked, “You just have to look a bit to notice them. That whole, 'look underneath the underneath', right?”

“Y-yeah. You're right!!” Naruto gulped down the rest of his stew with gusto, and set the bowl down. “Thanks a million, Ayame-neechan! I'm going to go find Sakura-chan and ask her out!”

The blond dashed out of the bar, waving back to Ayame and thanking her again. She chuckled, and let out a sigh.

Truth be told, she was sort of jealous. Yes, he was a bit stubborn at times, and he was a bit of a klutz too. She adored him, though. She, along with probably a good number of women who knew him personally, had fallen for him.

She knew though that he didn't look to her that way. She was a sister to him, a girl he could entrust when he had no idea what to do—especially when it came to 'girl troubles'--and she wouldn't trade that for the world.

It didn't mean she couldn't be a bit selfish and wish he'd ask to date her.

She picked up the bowls of stew, and smiled as she cleaned them out. She could at least take comfort in the fact that she may very well be responsible for helping the future Hokage find a hopeful woman to spend the rest of his life with. Besides, Sakura once stated that she would definitely have Ayame come to her wedding date, whenever that would be.

Probably another two years, given the rate Naruto went about things.

A random idea that came to mind a couple weeks ago. Figured I'd try and mold something out of it, and got this idea for a small one-shot/drabble with Naruto/Bleach.

Guardian Spirit --Click here to view--
“Ichigo, look out!!!”

Ichigo jumped away as a giant foot nearly crushed him to a fine powder. He reappeared by his Vice-captain's side, battered and torn, “Damn it...Rukia, how many more of them are there?”

“I...I think this is the last one. Shunsui-taichou and Kenpachi-taichou managed to decimate the two in the southern Rukongai districts, and Hitsuguya-taichou and Rangiku managed to take out one the one destroying the northern wall of Seireitei...” She gripped her zanpakutou tightly, “Ichigo, we need to fall back until-”

“No.”

Rukia looked to the Thirteenth Division captain standing before her. Fifty years ago, Ichigo had died a natural death, and was granted his teenage body when his powers were at their prime. He had become one of the most admirable Soul Reapers in all of Seireitei, and quickly earned the trust of his entire division. He also gained the reputation of visiting the Fourth Division barracks more often than any of the other captains, being the reckless spirit that he was.

“Ichigo, please...”

“No, Rukia. This is the last of the Vasto Lordes. If I can defeat it now, it will be over and we can rest. All the other captains are too far away or incapacitated at the moment.” Ichigo argued, looking to the dark haired woman.

“Then let me help.” Rukia demanded, “I may not have bankai yet, but I can still fight by your-”

“No. If you get involved, then I'll have to divide my attention between protecting you and-”

“Damn it, Icihgo! I can fight!!! Don't go and do the old 'shoulder the burden by myself' act on me! We've been through this a thousand times!” Rukia was shedding tears, “That Hollow is strong enough to decimate you, and you know it!” She grabbed him by his haori, “Please...let me help you.”

“Rukia, stand back, leave if things get bad.”

“Ichigo-”

“That's an order.”

“I-”

“If not for me, Rukia, then for the baby.”

Rukia bit her lip, placing a hand over her slightly swollen stomach. She shed a few tears and spoke, “Don't die on me.”

Ichigo pulled her into a hug, “I can't die; I'm already dead, remember?”

“....idiot.” She sniffled. Ichigo made to move, but Rukia didn't let go, “I love you.”

“I know.” Ichigo replied, “We're married, remember?”

Rukia watched her husband of forty years now Shunpo into the air. He raised his reiatsu level significantly, getting the attention of the Vasto Lordes.

He was a bit surprised; from what he recalled, Vasto Lordes were relatively smaller than most Hollows, standing at the height of most humans. This one wasn't especially bright, but it was still deadly, “Looking for me, big guy?”

The Vasto Lordes laughed, “There you are, Strawberry. Come to finally admit defeat so I can devour you?”

Ichigo snorted in laughter, “Devour me?” He pointed his sword at the gargantuan beast, “That won't be happening.”

The behemoth roared before charging at Ichigo, a ball of light forming in it's maw. Ichigo smirked before his eyes lit up with blue, “Bankai...”

- - - - -

Orihime and Isane both looked up from their respective wounded that they were healing, and looked up to the sky. A blue light intermingling with black and crimson could be seen. A crippling wave of spiritual pressure hit Seireitei, and Orihime immediately knew who it was, “Isane-taichou...”

Isane shook her head, “Inoue, you need to stay here.”

“B-but Kurosaki-kun is in-”

Isane frowned, her eyes showing the strain this battle was putting on her, “I know, Inoue...but as the Fourth Division Vice-captain, you must tend to the injured first. Ichigo-san is still fighting and doing well. He'll be-”

Her words were interrupted as a massive explosion rocked the entire area around them. There were screams as buildings began to crumble.

Orihime closed her eyes while ignoring her desire to go help Rukia and Ichigo, “Please survive, Kurosaki-kun...”

- - - - -

Grimmjow never really would admit it, but he didn't mind being an ally of Seireitei. It had it's perks; he could travel freely to the mortal world and enjoy the luxuries it had, and he was given the same status as a captain in terms of respect.

Plus, he could fight Ichigo whenever he felt like it.

He growled as an all-too-familiar reiatsu signature exploded in the northern part of Seireitei. He flexed his claws, looking to the giant beam of red and black light as it ascended to the sky, “Damn it, Kurosaki. What are you trying to do now?”

He never expected to find naturally occurring Arrancar attacking Seireitei alongside Vasto Lordes. He was able to dispose of most of them with relative ease, but...

“Grimmjow! Above you!!”

Grimmjow looked up before fading from view as a Cero nearly blasted him into dust. He landed by the person who had warned him, giving a nod, “Thanks, Harribel.”

Harribel said nothing, raising her giant sword like cannon and firing a high pressured blast of water at the Arrancar, “How did they get through so easily? Unohana-sotaichou said that our barriers would hold against most assaults of this caliber.”

“Hell if I know.” Grimmjow shrugged, “Anyway, looks like most of the weaklings are dead. Just a few Arrancar left now.”

“Kurosaki-san is fighting that giant Vasto Lordes though.” Harribel noted, “We should help.”

Grimmjow sighed; she was right. Despite how much of a respectful hatred/admiration he held with Ichigo, he knew when the orange haired captain was reaching his limits. He saw the former Substitute Soul Reaper activate his mask no more than a half hour ago, and he had just activated it again.

“Let's go, I think he's running into trouble.”

“Right.” Harribel replied, and the two were gone in an instant.

- - - - -

Ichigo panted, his mask echoing every breath he took as he glared at the massive beast, “You're a glutton for punishment, you know that?”

The Vasto Lordes just snickered, “Haha! Big talk for a little insect like yourself! Once I crush you, I'll take care of that precious little Lieutenant of yours!”

Now it was personal, “You won't lay one finger on my wife, bastard.”

A deep, rumbling laugh could be heard from the massive Hollow, “You think so?”

Ichigo shook his head, “No. I know so.”

The Vasto Lordes said nothing further, instead raising his hands above his head, and forming a giant ball of spiritual energy that easily dwarfed any explosion Ichigo was capable of creating. Just standing one hundred yards away was causing Ichigo to sweat bullets.

That attack wasn't meant for him. It was meant for all of Seireitei!

Ichigo gripped Tensa Zangetsu, and looked behind him to Rukia. She was watching, hands gripping sword, waiting for the slightest indication that he was revoking his previous order to stand down.

Lifting his mask, Ichigo smiled. His yellow irises reverted to brown for a moment, his gaze soft and loving. Rukia seemed to be able to read his mind at that moment, because she immediately started screaming his name while running to him.

“Ichigo pulled his mask back down, and closed his eyes, “Zangetsu-ossan...I'm sorry, but we're not going to be making it out of this one.”

He felt a hand grip his shoulder, “It was an honor to be by your side for all these years, Ichigo. Don't hold back; I'll give you everything I have for this final attack.”

Ichigo nodded, “Thanks...”

Ichigo shot off towards the giant Vasto Lorde. The Hollow, sensing a further and incredible increase in his opponent's power, prepared to launch the attack.

“Getsuga...!!!”

“Die, Shinigami!!!!”

Ichigo was positively glowing with red light, streaks of black and blue rippling off him, making him appear like a comet, “...Tenshou!!!!!”

Rukia shielded her eyes as the skies erupted in a blaze of light, “Ichigo!!!!!!”

- - - - -
- - - - -
- - - - -

Retsu Unohana stood before the group gathered before them. Some were captains, others Vice Captains, others lower officers, some just residents of Rukongai.

“...for Ichigo Kurosaki, he saw protecting those he cared about not as a duty, but a simple part of life. That belief extended to not only friends and family, but those who were unable to fight, or unwilling.” The now First Division captain lowered her head for a moment before continuing, “I believe that Kurosaki wasn't afraid of death, but acceptant of it. Though, what happens to one who has already died?”

There was a silence that hung in the air as she looked before he group, “There is an old legend I recall back in my earlier years as a captain that states that when a Shinigami dies, there soul will go to another realm of existence that we ourselves cannot reach. It is believed they remain there until the time comes when a force draws them out. That force is the soul of a new Soul Reaper. The soul of the one-time Shinigami and that of the young Shinigami merge. The soul may lie in dormancy for weeks, years, or eons before they finally awaken and speak to their new owner.”

A few of the older Shinigami smiled at this; it was a wise-tale, more than anything, but it had its origins back in the early years of Seireitei. Perhaps there was some truth to it, “Ichigo perhaps will rejoin us soon enough. That is why we must cherish every new soul in Soul Society; that new soul may indeed hold the life of our loved ones within them.”

After her speech, a few others spoke, among them being Orihime, Uryuu, Chad, the reinstated Chief of Research, Kisuke Urahara, Yoruichi, the now retired Jushirou Ukitake, Neliel Tu, and, much to everyone's surprise, Grimmjow. Every one of the remaining former Espada from ages past said a few words to honor the fallen captain and the one man who had defeated Sousuke Aizen years and years ago.

The last one to speak was Rukia Kurosaki, who had adopted the fallen captain's name the day the two exchanged vows in the Kuchiki clan courtyard in front of friends and family.

“Ichigo was, before anything else, a peaceful spirit.” Rukia chuckled while wiping away tears, “He loved the rush of a good fight, but he hated death and unjust killing. I suppose he was always in limbo between acting tough and trying to be sensitive of those around him. For that, I loved him, and still do.” She closed her eyes, “When he asked me to marry him, I was surprised to find that he was willing to resign as captain when I said there would likely be difficulties with me serving as his Vice Captain while also being his wife. He said that he didn't care, and that if they put up that big of a stink he'd switch divisions or just quit all together.”

She placed a gentle hand on her stomach, “When we found out that I was pregnant, he immediately sent word to his two sisters in the human world and informed our father-in-law, who was living in the upper Rukongai. He was so excited that he was going to be a father, and...and now...” She bit her lip before continuing, “...he died to protect both me and our child, as well as all of Seireitei. For that, I will forever be grateful. So please, if you take any of this with you later in life, take that belief Ichigo carried with him. Treasure those you love, and let them know you care. Ichigo showed me this in the ultimate fashion; giving up his own life.”

The funeral pyre was lit, and Rukia was given Ichigo's old haori. It had a few tears on the edges from years of fighting, and smelled of him. She held it close as the flames burned. The cloth wrapped around her deceased husbands body ignited, sending embers of light into the sky along with the smoke. She noted that the sky seemed to open up, as though it was making an opening, taking in Ichigo's soul. It was an odd thought for her; a possible afterlife after dying in the afterlife.

She smiled, and watched the flames burn. It hurt, but she wasn't afraid to go on. Ichigo had long taught her that her happiness was what mattered most to him. He died so she could live on and bring a child into the world. He died so that Seireitei would continue to exist, and protect the living world.

He died so that life would continue.

- - - - -
- - - - -
- - - - -

“Uzumaki, please come forward.”

A blond haired teenager of sixteen years looked up as he was called. He looked nervous as hell, but managed to stand up and walk towards the front of his group of peers.

The dark haired woman with a braided ponytail, who the blond knew as the Commander General of the Gotei Thirteen, handed him a black yakuta and hakama, and the rest of the articles of clothing that all Shinigami typically wore, “Welcome, Naruto Uzumaki, to the Gotei Thirteen.”

With that, the graduating class of Academy Students erupted in cheers. All seventy students, among them being Sakura Haruno, Kiba Inuzuka, Hinata Hyuuga, Gaara, and many other good friends he knew since his days in the Rukongai, stood up as they continued cheering.

- - - - -

“So, the Thirteenth Division, huh?” Kiba asked, giving his blond haired friend a slap on the back, “I hear the captain of that division is pretty cute! Rukia Kurosaki, if I'm right!”

Hinata sighed, “Kiba-kun, try and be serious about this. Naruto-kun is the first of us to get nominated into a division.”

“Well, yeah, but you were nominated to the Fourth Division a day after him! It's not fair that Inoue-fukutaichou and you are on a personal level.”

“I wouldn't worry about that, Kiba. Chances are that you'll be put into the Eleventh Division, seeing that Kenpachi-taichou actually thought you had potential when you openly challenged him...and survived.” Gaara spoke, “I think Kira-taichou said he was going to put word in for me going into the Third, though it may just be wishful thinking.”

Sakura smiled, “Don't worry, Gaara. We're all going to be in a division I'm sure.”

“What about you, Sakura-chan?” Naruto asked, “You hear any word yet on where you're going?”

Sakura grinned, “Yeah, I looks like I'll be in the Fifth Division with Hinamori-fukutaichou and Uryuu-taichou.”

The five continued down the road, chatting away about their hopes on their future as Shinigami.

- - - - -

“Rukia-taichou...what am I doing wrong?”

Rukia smiled, sitting down beside her newest pupil, and likely soon-to-be seated officer, “Naruto, there's nothing 'wrong' with what you're doing. Contacting one's zanpakutou is different for every person.”

“I know, but...Sakura-chan's already heard her zanpakutou's name, and she's not even a decade into her officership.” Naruto sighed, “Maybe I'm just meant to have a zanpakutou that won't talk to me.”

Rukia laughed, “Naruto, have I ever told you about how my husband became a Shinigami?”

“Er...no, but I've heard bits of it from other captains.”

Rukia nodded, “Well, when he first became a Soul Reaper, his powers weren't actually his own...”

- - - - -

Naruto panted heavily as he stood before a B-class Adjuchas Hollow. He had never faced such a ferocious opponent before, and he had been one of the front line people in the District Forty-two Defense two months back. That was a dangerous fight; he almost lost an arm out there, and had Orihime-fukutaichou not been there...

He shook his head, now wasn't the time. He shuffled his feet, and raised his reiatsu as far as it would go. Shikai or not, he would defeat this bastard. He killed two of his fellow officers, but he wouldn't let their deaths go unavenged.

“It's over bastard!!!” Naruto screamed, blood, sweat, and tears mixing with his spit as he screamed. He charged at the beast, hoping above all hope that he'd be able to lay a killing blow on the Hollow before one of its barbed arms impaled him.

He jumped into the air, and...

- - - - -

Naruto found himself at a small waterfall. Looking around, he noted two things about this place; it wasn't in the Rukongai, and it was somewhere he had never been before.

What was oddest of all was that when he looked up, he saw...land? He looked below him to see an infinite sky of stars, a sun, and moon, all in one.

“What the hell? Did I eat something bad before I left for Rukongai?” Naruto mumbled to himself as he walked down what appeared to be a stone path leading to the bottom of the waterfall. Taking a closer look, he noticed the waterfall was actually made of...light. Bits and pieces of light, floating up to the weird land-sky as they fell from the mighty falls.

“Well, about time you showed up.”

Naruto whirled around to see a young man, probably no more than a year or two older than him. He backed away, studying the odd figure. The man wore a large black cloak that flowed behind him a bit. As the cape waved with the apparent wind, Naruto noted the slight change in colors amongst the midnight black color: red, orange, yellow, green, blue. It was like looking at a puddle of gasoline, subtly reflecting all colors off it's surface as it moved in the breeze. Aside from that, the man had a black bandanna around his head, the ends of the headpiece dropping down past his shoulders. He had what appeared to be an red armor of sorts on, and a large katana strapped to his back. Probably the most notable feature though, was his hair. It was a striking orange color.

“Are you...my zanpakutou?”

The man smiled, “Damn straight. Name's Tenkishi.”

“Tenkishi..." Then it dawned upon him, "Hey, I heard your name! Haha!!” Naruto cheered. He looked back to the man and grinned, “Heavenly Knight, huh?”

“Basically.” The man smirked, “So, looks like you need my help.”

Naruto felt an odd sensation envelope his entire being as power flooded into him, “Wh-what-?”

“It's time we show the world our power, Naruto. I'm not about to let you die, and I know what you want to fight for; those you care for." He held out his hand, and continued, "Show them what you're made of, Naruto. My power is now yours." Naruto looked to the man's hand, clasped it, and shook it. Then his world went white.

Naruto's eyes snapped open, and he saw himself plummeting towards the Hollow beneath him. He clenched his sealed zanpakutou tightly, and recited the words his new partner had told him, “Strike down from the star-filled sky, Tenkishi!!!”

Naruto's zanpakutou glowed with a white light, sparks of blue colored lightning and wind manifesting from his blade. The Hollow seemed to suddenly become aware of the danger it was in, but it was too late. Naruto made a slashing motion with his glowing blade and shouted the battle cry that echoed in his mind, “Getsumei Satsu!!!”

The light around Naruto's shikai shot down onto the target, making a clean slice through the middle. Naruto landed before the beast, and with a quick flourish of his blade, severed the monster in half horizontally. The creature screamed out in agony as it was purified.

Naruto looked to his newly awoken zanpakutou, and grinned, “Wow...” He held it in the air, “Tenkishi...definitely the coolest blade I've ever seen.”

Rukia and a few other officers stood a ways off, having arrived just in time to see Naruto Uzumaki just unleash his shikai for the first time upon an Adjuchas. Only Rukia seemed to be smiling though.

Something about that blade just...familiar. The attack Naruto used, the fashion in which it was used...

“Kind of reminds you of Ichigo, doesn't it?”

Rukia turned to see the Vice-captain of the Sixth Squad by her side, “Hey, Renji...” She nodded, “I think that speech Unohana-sotaichou made those years back might hold some truth to it. Getsumei Satsu...Moonlight Slice. It just...” She smiled, “I guess Ichigo wanted to find a soul that would stand out.”

Naruto stood in place, his legs wobbling a bit as he finally settled down. His reiatsu was still a bit unstable from what Rukia could sense, but he seemed to be able to hold onto his shikai well enough.

“We better get him to the Fourth Division barracks.” Renji went on, “The kid looks ready to collapse.”

Rukia nodded, and with a quick flash step appeared by Naruto's side. The blond took note of his commanding officer's presence, and straightened up, “Ah! Rukia-taichou! I didn't know you were here!!!”

Rukia smiled, “It's alright, Naruto.” She placed a hand on Naruto's shoulder, steadying him a bit, “Are you alright?”

“Heh, y-yeah...just a bit dizzy. That's all.” Naruto responded, his sword having reverted back to its sealed state, “...I finally did it.”

Rukia nodded, “You did.” She helped guide her soon-to-be Vice captain—because he was getting that promotion for sure now—and continued, “Naruto, your shikai's attack. I saw it, but...what was the attack called again?”

Naruto smiled, “Getsumei Satsu. It's Tenkishi's special attack. It concentrates my spiritual power into an electrical wind that takes whatever form I need it too. I...need more control, since it was kind of draining just getting it to form a blade and slash that Hollow in half.”

“Tenkishi...is that the name of your zanpakutou?”

“Yeah.”

Rukia bit her lip a little, unsure if she should delve into such things, “If it's not too personal...what does your zanpakutou's spirit look like?”

“Well, he's got a really cool cloak around him and some neat armor. He seems to be a pretty chill sword.”

“Anything else about him?” Rukia asked.

“Oh, he has orange hair. I was a bit surprised; I thought he'd be blond like me, but I'm not complaining.” the blond replied.

Rukia halted in her tracks, and her grip tightened on Naruto's shoulder. He winced a bit, and looked to see Rukia quietly shedding tears, smiling. She looked down to her pupil and spoke softly, “I...I see.” She let out a sigh before chuckling, “Naruto, would you like to be my new Lieutenant? I haven't had a second in command in fifteen years.”

Naruto's eyes lit up, “Seriously???” He caught himself and tried to appear professional, “Er...I mean, it would be an honor, taichou.”

Rukia snorted in laughter, “No need for that right now, Naruto.” She loosened the grip on his shoulder a bit, “I'm glad I have you I my division, Naruto. I think you'll make a great Vice captain.”

“Heh, I sure hope so, Rukia-taichou.”

Rukia watched the blond as he was treated by the Fourth Division officer who had come with them, laughing away as he was bandaged up. Her smile slipped a bit, but she was still happy. Ichigo seemed to have taken to Naruto as a kindred spirit, and was now his zanpakutou. A fitting way for Ichigo to continue on as the spirit of a blade in such a bright and energetic youth.

Later that night found Rukia standing in front of a picture of Ichigo that was placed in her room on the wall.

“Ichigo...I wish you were here...” Rukia thought to herself, “Our little Hisana's growing up so fast...she's taken after you with the her stubborn attitude. Nii-sama loves her though, and while she can be a bit of a pill at times, she's a loving girl at the same time.” She chuckled, “She says she wants to be like me and 'Unohana-obaasan' when she get's older and can become a Shinigami.”

Rukia stroked a hand across the grinning portrait of her deceased husband, “Ichigo...I know that while you're now a part of that boy...a part of you still exists with us too.” She held herself tightly, “Watch over Naruto for us, Ichigo. I'll do everything in my power to insure he becomes everything you would want a boy like him to be.”

Rukia sighed before blowing out the single candle in her room. Tonight had been an emotional night for her. Obviously there was the chance that Naruto's spirit was just one that resembled Ichigo, but...she just seemed to be able to recognize the blond's power right away.

She crawled into her bed, and decided to make the proper preparations for Naruto's promotion tomorrow. As she closed her eyes, she felt a warmth crawl over her being, and for a moment, she swore she felt a hand wrap around her waist gently.

“I love you, Rukia.”

Rukia's eyes snapped open, and she looked around her room. No one was there. No sounds could be heard but her breathing.

She felt a few more tears run down her cheeks, but she smiled. Resting her head against the pillow once more, she whispered back to the voice that seemed to come from somewhere deep within her.

“I love you too, Ichigo.”

Well, let me know what you all think. Random idea is random, I know. tongue.gif

OMNOMNOM DELICIOUS COPYPASTA.

my review/what I thought/wordswordswords for your Give it Time (Kurt/Kitty) wow.png
ARRGH LANCE PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH. AND KITTY TOO. ARRG. She reminds me of those abused chicks who just can't stay away, oh he'll change! It doesn't hurt that much! See I can move it every few minutes! BAH on her face hm.png

I was kinda mixed about this one, tommy. Don't get me wrong, I friggin loved it (you sparked alittle bit of my love for the pairing again after all this time when I've moved on whoo boy) but there were like two things that glared at me, and since you're askin for it, I might as well share all I feel!

I really enjoyed how you jumped right into the plot, BUT when you the characters a mini bio I was alittle turned off by that. I personally know too much about them, so ya don't have to worry about catching me up tongue.gif

and the other thing was the transitions, they were a tiny bit awkward. Like that part where Kurt's all mc broody pants? Well he's suddenly broody and then he "decides to get food" -- Idk, I think I'm just being a Picky Polly, but maybe you could've wedged an intimate detail about how maybe Kurt was like most chicks and felt the need to stuff his face when butthurt -- something like that? I liked the way you incorporated food though, his character really shines when he's stuffing his face hehe. Anyway there's this one and the only other one that bugged me theeee Kitty one. When she left Kurt's room to settle in? Yeah, it was alittle awkward to me. Again maybe I'm being a Picky Polly, but her leaving so abruptly after that full-dialogue scene caught me off guard personally.

BUT thats all that I'm gonna nag about, mister D. heheelq7.png I loved everything else about it (including the faults if that makes sense XD)

I really enjoyed the melancholy feel to it, how you added Logan and Rogue and then finally the arrival of Pryde herself. Also I liked how you stated she joined SHIELD instead of just going off to school or something -- Kitty's a whiz in school and could probably give alot to her profession, but I like to see her stay as a fighter, I dunno I think it just fits. But hey if she can do both I'm all for it; college kid by day, x-man by night and all that. fu.png

OH AND THE REUNION. D'aw awkward silences. In fact, I was pleasantly caught off guard by them already having had a relationship -- i friggin love when relationships have rough, deep, put-some-elbow-grease-innit histories. Best ever.

omg so like thanks tommy, once again. Sorry for takin so long to give you some love, but HERE YA GO DELAYED REACTION TY a_hug.gif

g'dluck on your stories! I'll be waitin on when you're able to take requests, tomtom. pictureem0.gif
