So basically it took several years of being looked down on, over 3 years of being separated and atleast 3 murder attempts for Sakura to (probably) fall out of love with someone she thought was cool when she was like...5

Still good that SS is...kind of sort of dead but not really. He said she still has feelings for him and I guess you could debate about it not being a romantic feeling but whenever someone says something about having feelings for someone else not once do I recall a situation being in which the context wasn't romantic so its slightly confusing.

The way I read it was that sakuras feelings have changed for sasuke in that she doesn't fangitl over him, or want to be with him anymore. She doesn't see him in a romantic light. "You still have feelings for the person that tried to kill you" was like despite sasuke trying to kill you, you still think of him as an important person and no matter how hard she trys to shove away the person she likED, she can't because she has a good heart and wants to save him from darkness. Overall I think sakura's romantic feelings for sasuke are gone and have changed to friendship. She still cares for him obviously but doesn't want to be with him anymore. I don't see how it can be interpreted any other way

I can't tell if this chapter 1-up'd naruaku or pushed it a little down.....

someone wanna help me??

Kakashi all but saiid Sakura no longer loves Sasuke, he all but killed that pairing. She might still like him, but not the way she used to. Considering she was head over heals in love with him. SasuSaku fans must be in Dispair, and SasuKari fans must be doing cartwheels on the road.

Well apart from Obito sending Sakura back to Kakashi's location instead of saving her in the classic method of throwing himself infront of the attack, I can't say I'm all too surprised. The revelation about Rin should be a surprise to no one, seriously it was pretty darn obvious Madara had something to do with it, what were the chances of a the Mist catching the only girl he loved in the time he was recovering and seal the three tails in her to cause havoc? Come on he should have known the plan was odd when he discovered they used the three tails as a suicide mission...Unless the three tails completely destroyed everyone which he should know with Minato, Saratobi, Jiaraya and even Orichimaru still there was highly unlikely, the final result would e Konoha would gain the three tails as a weapon.

How did Obito not click on, even when he found out what Madara had planned with Negato? I am even more convinced now that Madara was the one instrumental in destroying Whirlpool...but if it end up being so crazy to a point that we find out Minato is Madara's son, he had planted in the village and then manipulated the situation so Naruto's parents would fall in love and a super Uchiha/Uzumaki child would be born I'll lose all faith in the manga. I also believe he did so because they were the ones protecting the seal that had the ten-tails body.

I'm still pissed off that Sakura needed to be saved again, but this was the best way it could happen, and seeing team seven properly united is great to see, Ofcourse seeing Sasu/Saku pairing take a major blow is always good. Ofcourse that is how I read it, and both Mangapanda and mangastream were similar so I don't see how both would mistranslate. It was also cool to see Sakura not fawn all over Sasuke and actually be the one who questioned him on hiw words on becoming Hokage, that shows she is thinking level headed and doesn't trust his words on face value.

if you think sakura as a kind girl, you can think when she was trying to damage Obito's rinnegan... She was reluctant to do that because she's not that kinda girl. She is a kinda girl despite her tsundere looking (but she shows that only when Naruto does some stupid stuffes and always towards him above all). Sakura cannot abandon Sasuke at his dark fate, like Naruto... She still hopes that the team 7 can smiles together one day.

Has she? I actually thought he was about to simply state that she has rather than have her do something beyond what Tsunade can do, but he didn't even throw her that bone. I remember thinking with Gai, if Naruto can do that then what happens to Sakura's role? Then we get this. Right in the face.I'd probably feel more than a tad miffed if I were her. While I didn't like the overall treatment of Sakura, the thing that offended me most was Obito. It was horrible. The cursed seal. The Uchiha curse. Itachi being manipulated by designated a**hole #1 and Obito by Designated a**hole #2. Kabuto was the same way. Excuse after excuse after excuse.Sweet merciful crap.Everyone has a built in mitigation excuse. I can't recall every seeing so much shifting of responsibility and minimization.I thought Obito was a bad character before, but geez. It's so hard to take these redemptions seriously when no one has to meaningfully own up to anything.

Maybe Kishi is slowly trying to brainwash the readers with other characters so they can accept it when Sasuke returns to the village in the end with no consequence whatsoever?

It worked with Gaara. It worked with Itachi. It worked with Obito. It HAS to work with Sasuke.

Not sure whether to take the anti SS statement to be good or not because Kishi's constant ambiguity is pissing me off, and I have no idea what the hell this pay off in the end is supposed to lead up to.

Nah, he;s been working Sasuke over the whole time. It's not necessary for that. I think it's because of the conflict involved trying to redeem jerks. Wants the whole dark path, doesn't want the consequences. So let's make it easier to swallow by making it someone else's fault, someone is 100% guaranteed to die and who has otherwise been a giant piece of crap the whole time.

Well, I threw my opinion in on the NF Forums, so here is my opinion here:

Sakura's feelings keep being thrown into our faces every time she and Sasuke are in the same vicinity. This lets us know that Sakura's love for Sasuke had a red flag behind it to begin with. In this chapter, Kishimoto is speaking to us through Kakashi and letting us know that Sakura's feelings for Sasuke have changed. They have changed to a more caring and platonic nature rather than just romantic. In all honesty, I'm getting the vibe that Sakura may be in the process of falling in love with Naruto while out of love with Sasuke. I can guarantee that this entire thing will be resolved by the time we get around to the final battle between Naruto and Sasuke.

No doubt, Sakura cares for and likes Sasuke (platonically now), but I think Naruto will soon be entering the deeper romantic recesses of her heart if he hasn't begun to already.

You're not the only one. I thought he doesn't even fit in team seven. And I'm not the only one saying this. People in Japanese sites were saying that it looks a bit awkward with Sasuke in that last panel. He doesn't fit in his old team anymore. Sai would have fit the panel better.

"Saving him from darkness" ROFLMAO, my reaction everytime Kishi brings this quote.

Sasuke dying would make the series end well at least for me, but i doubt that Naruto is a masou shoujo now and i doubt he would let it happen.
And being honest i'm looking forwards how Sakura is going to hold that on her own since Naruto and Sasuke with their godly powers have difficulties on holding Madara, imagine him at full power.

Kishi couldn't be more obvious...

I really don't understand how SS fans can interpret this another way around.

And I really don't understand how some of you guys still think it's confusing.

I personally think Kishi is really obvious and clear this time because he knows how Sakura were bad understood when she confessed to Naruto back then. Even Sai's explanations weren't enough for the fans to understand.

So IMO, he did all this through Kakashi's eyes for the fans to understand that Sakura is no longer this small girl crazy about Sasuke. It's pretty clear. He explained everything here. He explained why she couldn't kill him back then, and that was exactly what I thought... It's hard to kill, moreover when it's someone you were in love with, or one of your comrades... it's really hard. Could you do that ?

It's not because of romantic feelings that she couldn't kill him. It's something else. The romantic feelings were gone for a long time already.

It's like everything is pulled together. Like a puzzle. Yamato's sentence to Sakura, Sakura's confession to Naruto... everything is crystal clear now.

Sasuke never cared about her in a romantic way.

Kishimoto did it on purpose.

Man do we really share our brains? Like think with the same brain? How can your thoughts be so close to mine or vice versa. You can have it your way, my thoughts being close to yours! Ah! Though I generally agree with everything you say, I say that while killing Sasuke she did have feelings for him and it was when he tried to kill her two times, was when her feelings went for a toss and started waning. About 531, as always, agree and share the same opinion as yours! Regarding the power up, though I believe its gonna be like you said, I am still ambiguous about it. But oh well! I just want to see Sakura chan get a power up. And all the more Naruto giving her that, will make things more sweet(for the pairing that is) :)

Hahaha maybe you are me from  AU like in RTN or i'm you lol . But i think her feelings were wavering even before that but yeah ultimately i agree :)

Yeah i got that feeling as well he looks more natural when he's with Taka now  . And Sai i miss this guy but i guess he was shoved aside because he was Sasuke's replacement it would have been so good if he was with them on that panel , btw where is he ? How much time does it needs to remove those black roods from Hashirama

If Sakura's gonna be a healer in the battle, I'm gonna kill Kishi in my dreams. Let Naruto do it, since he's the best at it.

My prediction for the upcoming battle is that we have a near replay of the bell test. Like for example, when Madara Starts to use Taijutsu, Naruto will say, "Ninja art, number 1. Taijutsu!" and beat Madara, reminiscing Kakashi of when Naruto was the one easily beaten by Taijutsu. Or say, when Madara uses genjutsu, Sakura will say, "Ninja art, number 3. Genjutsu" and dispel it contrary to how she got caught easily before.

It's not because of romantic feelings that she couldn't kill him. It's something else. The romantic feelings were gone for a long time already.

Nope, he explained why Sakura did not abandoned Sasuke after the whole summit, he says it clearly "after he tried to take your life" he's talking after the summit not during or before it.

Her romantic feelings for him had ended after it and if she still likes him are a different feelings now.

It's like everything is pulled together. Like a puzzle. Yamato's sentence to Sakura, Sakura's confession to Naruto... everything is crystal clear now.

Kishimoto did it on purpose.

Sakura's confession to Naruto wasnt "cleared" with Kakashi's sentence, he just pointed out Sakura's feelings after the summit.
What she feels now has no relation with her confession to Naruto.
I can pick your logic and say that her confession to Sasuke on part 1 was a lie.
Kakashi realized that she no longer love Sasuke because she doesnt want to be with him after he tried to take her life away.

If Sakura's gonna be a healer in the battle, I'm gonna kill Kishi in my dreams. Let Naruto do it, since he's the best at it.

Inst stupid to use genjutsu on a guy that has a sharingan or even worse the Sage of Six Paths?
Naruto will pull off a new jutsu rasengan and Sasuke will reveal a new rinnegan since he's hiding his right eye or left i'm not sure.

Just a friendly reminder that we shouldnt declare other pairings are dead, in the spirit of not hurting fellow fans from other shipping fandom.

.

.

.

.

[ziiiiiiiiiiiiiiingg.....]

.

.

.

I CANT HELP BUT KEEP SMILING WITH THIS CHAPTER! Thank you Kishi! Hontou ni arigatou! I was smiling like an idiot during my workday, hahaha :) That's one subtle statement which brings a huge impact in the overall progress of romance subplot. Seriously, if people starts making things up to skew what's already stated clearly in the manga (with regards of Sakura's feeling), well, you've been warned. It doesnt take a genius.

I like the fact that the perspective of Sakura's feeling comes from other people --Yamato, Sai, and now Kakashi. These are the key people she's been interacting with and has been watching her grow over the time. The statement from Kakashi comes with no surprise. But I think I'd like to take off my pairing goggle for a while and look a bit more into the manga (with my limited reading skills).

This is a nice setup chapter for the upcoming battle which will be focusing on Team 7 dynamics. It compares to how Team 7 then, and how it is now. I think other members have already stated it in this thread, so I wont repeat. It's about their growth and their journey. Thereby the comparison with day one of their enrollment.

a) Naruto is on a good track with his growth -- to be acknowledged by others and surpasses the previous hokage. This is the attribute that defines his character. I'm a bit disappointed that he can easily restore Kakashi's eye. It was supposed to be Sakura's job. But given how Shikamaru was treated and how suddenly Naruto can stop Gai from dying, I guess I'll just shrug it off.

Which comes to my next point: Naruto's new ability, which he showed in front of the team, is not meant for Naruto power boost declaration per se. It is meant for the context of Team 7 growth. Remember the day in part 1 where Sasuke is all cool and Sakura was very impressed by Sasuke's skills? Compare that with the panel in this chapter. Sakura was literally impressed with Naruto and she wanted to know how he did it, while at the same time, Sasuke is pretty much getting ignored by the two, and he was like "Guys, I told you not to let your guard down"... and Naruto was like "You never told me so", and Sakura keep insisting to know how Naruto restore Kakashi's eye. I was very much pleased with the portrait. Wow, how things have changed... I keep smiling  when I read that panels and how Kakashi's bored face was depicted with Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke bickering in the background. Priceless.

b) Sakura is on a good track with her growth as well --to overcome her main drawback (which is Sasuke). It's the attribute of her character --her name is associated with 'haru' in japanese language, which means 'spring' (often associated with youth, puberty) so, I'm alright to associate her with love aspect of the story. Though, she's more than just a girl. She's a strong woman!

The fact that Kishi pulled out how fangirly Sakura was (immature and seems like has nothing better to do than being a fangirl) towards Sasuke back then; Versus a calm, collected and cautious (mature, reasonable) Sakura today. What I like is the fact that she didnt rush towards Sasuke, but helping Kakashi instead. Also, when Naruto comes around, she's more astonished to Naruto's ability and more interested to talk to Naruto compared to Sasuke's new eyes. Heck, when Naruto's around she didnt bother that much over Sasuke isnt she? Only when Kakashi brings up the question, she also wanted to know. The best part is, Kakashi comments itself. It can't get any more obvious... come on. Anyways, I wont comment other pairings are dead yet. I'm afraid I'll jinx it...

c) Sasuke was still questionable. The fact that he cant give clear and precise answer means he's hiding something. And based on the facial expression and situationi, it doesnt seems to be a good intention. If I want to stretch a bit, Naruto is the only one not cornering him with a question... probably he knew that Sasuke has a bad intention --he can detect malice and evil intention in that form isnt he? That's why Naruto went like "..." instead of pushing questions to Sasuke. He may not want to corner Sasuke in front of Sakura and Kakashi. It'll bring sadness to them, which I doubt he'll want that.

Ok, so far so good with NS. So, for the past few months, We have the girlfriend comments together with Minato's comparison to Kushina; Sakura being there when Naruto in the verge of dying with an added bonus of CPR, while Hinata fell to the ground. We have Sakura questioning Sasuke for his true motives and Kakashi mentioning that her feelings have changed towards Sasuke (I would assume to become nakama, instead of love)...

All is good, but I would expect the pairing drama to be concluded at the very end. I'll wait patiently, enjoy the story and lower my expectation as always.

PS: I really love how Naruto and Sakura interact with each other. Such an adorable couple people.

Ok first of all:

Kushina in the game: I got a new team member!

Second, regarding on fans commenting on Sakura: well I do like what I'm seeing here. Good to see mostly positive reaction. I believe the reason why this happened is because it's a good chance that this is the last time for Team 7 to be together and later on, well, we have to wait and see if Naruto and Sasuke will go different paths, especially well Team Taka is around. That said well the reason why this needed to be addressed is because Kakashi never got the chance to reevaluate his team, so now it was the perfect time. It make sense to see how much it has changed. Again, Naruto still got his dreams, Sakura still has a kind heart, and Sasuke still has his own agenda. Things changed but parts remain the same.

Now I'm at the moment of "I think we weren't meant to take SS serious." No joke. You can't be afraid of pairing war anymore. Just the fans. Hell, if I were to joke, I would have Karin going "Awesome." In fact, I would do that when I get home.
