If kishimoto were to come out many many years later and told us the truth of why naruto ended the way it did would you forgive him?

I think I won't care much one way or the other. I've moved on and made my peace with this series as much as I can, so there's really not anything to forgive. What's done is done. Kishimoto made his bed and he can lie in it.

Even if Kishimoto did come out and say that this ending was not the one he wanted, I'm not sure I'd be able to believe he were being truthful and not just trying to save face with an unsatisfied and alienated fan base. Nowadays I take everything he says with a huge grain of salt, he's always contradicting himself and changing his story. I think he never really knew what to do without a good editor at his side because the manga started going downhill when his original editor (whatever his name is) quit, and only ever got worse. In the end, I think he just gave up and stopped caring and decided to just 'give the fans what they want.'

I guess kishi has to make a success with a another idea, but after ruining a reputation like this i don't think thats something thats easy to gain back along with the fandoms trust. As for the another idea how can he make that a long term success if he dosen't know how to plan, characterize characters  with out making them to generic or cliched and try to tell a consistent story? Unless he bring's back the good editor that made naruto successful and keep him until the very end.

No.

It's your work, your creation. Why would you give up on it when your own creation claims that we can achieve anything we fight for and we never have to give up on our dreams? It's kinda contradictory.

You write about a child that never gives up on his goals, and fight 'til the end to make his dreams come true, and you, the autor, give up on it and sell it to a company?

I know that there must be a contract that doesnt allow Kishi to do whatever he wants, but hell, it's your creation, I can't believe that you have no influence on the decissions.

And if I were Kishi, I would try to blow my work up. Make it sink, just for being forced to make something I didnt want to, for changing MY story because of my editors preferences.

In Japan there is this saying, "If everything is accepted with a sorry, we wouldn't need a police".

If I forgave Kishi for playing the fans unnecessarily and betraying their trust so he could be rich with their money, I would be insulting the other honest and hardworking mangakas. That's very unfair to them isn't it? If a dishonest person gets to walk away scottfree what's the point of being honest in the first place?

Nope, not gonna forgive him.

Sorry (not sorry) but I am practicing a Naruto and Kishimoto moral lesson: being (more pretending to be) good, trusting and sympathetic (particularly with the morons) leads to nothing!! :kukuku:

For reference see the Jiraya, Minato, Neji, Naruto, Sakura... etc. etc. etc. final outcome!

And the fact that more aggressive pairing fandoms got what they wanted in this ending. :zaru:

The bolded part- I can argue with that. Korrasami  :hehehe:

But yeah what you've said is pretty much on point. At the end of the day, I would have been more content with him leaving Naruto altogether instead of finishing it out the way the editor's would have liked. Speaking of which, I wonder how Katsura Hoshino's doing? Lol.

I mean you can argue that, but towards the ending of Book 3 I saw Korrasami coming a mile away. :hehehe:

yeah. And he would have to change the ending completely. And sell volume 72 with the new NaruSaku ending. And tie up everything else the way it's supposed to be. And give Sasuke a real damn punishment as well.

To be fair I didn't watch Book 4 since the other books were horrible and I disliked Korra. But I can honestly say that just by book 3 Korrasami was still really underdeveloped. I like the pairing but Lok didn't give it justice. Also Bryke is a known Tumblr user so yeah, I'd be led to believe that he was influenced somewhat by the LoK fandom.

But on topic I don't think I can ever get over my dislike for Kishimoto. Even when Naruto ended I thought I was going to continue reading his new line of work, but now I can't even stand typing his name.

I've really havent talked about the subject much since the ending, just my Naruhina friends all laughing at me cause they all thought I was delusional. The one thing I do truley appreciate about this site is that people saw all the things I did. That Im not only one whos crazy. :P When I first read the manga when I was in 7th grade (Im 24 now) I was no way at all a narusaku supporter I thought. "Oh hey hinata likes him im sure they will end up together."

But as time moved on  and as I got older (plus understanding woment a bit more lol) And I saw the promise of a lifetime line and I thought. Wow he really does love her and hes doing all for her. The one thing I stood by this whole time is the character development between the two that went on to the point where, one would think "this is going to really happen." And then the reveal of Naurtos mom? The Parrallels? It Still hurts to talk about it every now and again I try to forget naruto despite how I grew up with it and that How happy i was Naruto was Hokage but the execution of it was just. Terrible... :/ But I Digress.

Would I forgive Kishi? As a Naruto Fan no. As a Person, yes if he were to truly come clean and admit that Money or w.e played a part in the outcome of the ending. But I've always wondered and I scoured 2ch for info but came up empty handed. And maybe it was anwsered here, but how was the general reaction in Japan about the pairings? I remember that Sakura was a favorite and I know Hinata was somewhat of a favorite here a few years back. Do you guys know?

You sir, has my respects! :)

I don't think so, no.

I've been a fan for too long to forgive him. Not to mention the harassment NS fans have had to endure all these years, especially after the ending.
