Rumor: Lionsgate’s Live-Action Naruto Film Is “A Complete Disaster” With Producers Not Knowing “Anything About The IP”
Guess Kishimoto trusted Hollywood, he is a fan of Hollywood movies, and didn't keep an eye on it like Oda. Problem is most Hollywood hates Japanese entertainment and blame it for them losing viewers. Since they are not going to self reflect.
That would not surprise me at all, I've seen interviews with writers for the Disney/Marvel shows that happened after Endgame, and one of the requirements for getting the job was to know nothing about the source material.
And to those who watched those shows you saw how badly they were.
Hollywood in the last couple of years hired activists instead of people who know how to do the job. Obviously not the whole of Hollywood.
If the movie does see the light of day, I have zero hope for it being even decent, not to mention good.
It's a problem old as time, that people can't take any responsibility for their own screw-ups. What's worse with Hollywood is that they even went as far as attacking the fans.

Oh I know very well what Fink said about forcing behavior. I know also quite a bit about Blackrock and Vanguard and also about what other people have said. If you listen to what some of them say, of what world they envision it's terrifying. And that's only what the say in public, think about what they say and do behind closed doors. I don't like to talk about them because I've noticed people don't like these types of conversations so I usually stay away.
However I'm glad in a way that people started to pay attention to what Blackrock and Vanguard are doing, also that they even get mentioned, just a few years ago they would've flown under the radar without anyone talking about them. Speaking of flying that's where it actually scares me the most, thinking about hiring people who aren't qualified for the job, but fit their agenda is monumentally idiotic. So many lives are now in the hands of people who aren't the best for the job, but because they just happened to be born in or identify as something. But I guess for them it doesn't matter because they will have their private jets and private pilots.
That's what the majority of people do, they just don't buy the product anymore. It's one of the reasons getting the interests from social media isn't a good metric to go by. Something that looked popular might turn out to not be at all. Like NH.
They did that in the latest Spider-man game where they made MJ look like one of the writers. Take a look at the model used for MJ in the first game also used for the second and you'll see in the second they just took like small features but overall it's really modeled after one of the writers. Which sorry to say, but she isn't as attractive as the original model.
I know about the Stellar Blade controversy, I loved how people were complaining that no woman looks like that then developer showed the model.
Yeah that's what I said about One Piece all I've heard is good things, but only from people who never checked the manga or anime.
I had no idea if they liked it because it's actually good or because they're just sick of the modern entertainment. Which is why I asked for those who followed OP if it's indeed good.
I used to watch a lot of movies and shows, one of the reasons I've stopped is partially because of my own personal problems, but also because there hasn't really been anything that interests me in these pasts years. Even now I hear news about some project my first reaction is to dismiss it because I assume it's probably going to be of low quality.
Will the Naruto movie be the thing that will resurrect it? Or if it doesn't resurrect Naruto's dead corpse, at least the movie will be good. I doubt it. It's possible, but I just don't see it. Maybe I became too cynical.
And the reason I don't see it apart from what's going on in the media lately, but also because to me this isn't the right move.
A movie is the right move, but not a live action one. You need to bring back the old fanbase, the ones that made them. Without them they're nothing. Without us back I don't see it succeeding. Sure it might bring in a new fanbase, but they didn't grew up with it, they don't have the memories, the nostalgia of all those years.

I meant who should have died in the war in genreal, not only among the k11
None.
Unless I would go for some specific storyline or outcome.
Why do you want to kill them so much?
I think you need some deaths in for some suspence otherwise the conflict wouldn't look threatening. Heck it could even just be some recurring minor characters like those minor leaf chunin or jonin we see, some of the relatives like hiashi dying to protect neji and hinata or at least maybe knowing because he is old. As for the case with guy would of served the mentor death for Lee to grow and frankly naruto nre healing power made sakura look irrelevant for alot of people.
I do agree we do need some deaths for suspense to make it look real for the audience to tell them that no one is safe, but like Bail said it's not the lack of deaths that's the problem, it's the lack of meaning.
Take a look at Neji's death at how it was talked about. Back then when he was killed off, what were people talking about? Hinata.
Hinata having a moment with Naruto, not Hinata growing as a character, but that she finally touched Naruto's big soft warm hand. That's what they were talking about. Neji's death? Not so much. Not only that his death barely matter to the audience, but even in the story in the next chapter if I remember correctly Naruto and everyone just moves on and apart from a small moment with Lee crying over Neji while holding him, and later on Hinata begging Neji (the dead guy) to save Naruto, everyone just completely forgets about him, even Naruto even though just a few chapters before he said he will not allow anyone to kill his friends. Well one of his real friends(unlike Sasuke) just died saving him (I still hate that moment) and Naruto just fists his chest and says he won't forget about Neji and that's it. Not only going back on his word that he just made minutes ago, but even when one of his friends dies, it doesn't really mean that much. Yes of course one can argue it's war time, so no time, but still it was treated very quickly and we moved on like it wasn't that major of an event.
Again as Bail said before, it's the lack of meaning.

Okay then let me rephrase who should of died in the 4th great ninja war?
None.
Unless I would go for some specific storyline or outcome.
Just because it was a war why would we kill any of them?
As Bail said about how their death would affect the others, killing them off doesn't really add anything to the story apart from shock value.
Like Neji's death. His death even though argued by NH fans was to bring Naruto and Hinata closer, didn't have that effect. In fact according to Hinata's movie Neji's death did nothing for the NH relationship. And even in the manga like 30 minutes later Naruto declares Sakura as his girlfriend to his father. Neji's death served no purpose, either than a small NH moment that means nothing to Naruto after it's over.
Now if your question would be like: "Hey you really need to kill someone or some of them or even all of them in this war arc, who would you kill?" My answer wouldn't be a character or characters, but I would need a reason to kill them off. Again I'm not killing them off for the shock value or just because I want to, there has to be a reason within the story, a purpose to their death.
So what would I do? I would have Sasuke enter the war and kill one or even more of the Konoha 11 to make Naruto understand that Sasuke can't be saved and he can't be left alive or this will continue. That killing Sasuke is the only way to stop him from killing.
That's how I would use one or some of the Konoha 11 characters, to make a point for Naruto to understand what must be done otherwise more people will die. I would use their death to justify Naruto's action of killing Sasuke.

Here is a naruto topic for the thread, if you could kill off one member of the k11 who would it be? Also let's not do it for shipping reasons as that's why we hate neji's death.
None.
Unless I would go for some specific storyline or outcome. Killing off characters just for the sake of killing them (like Neil Druckmann does) or for the shock value is not a good thing in stories. Especially when that character was beloved by the fans. And it has never been received well in any work of fiction. It just pisses off people and alienates them and creates like a cascading event where they tell their friends/family to not bother checking out that work of fiction thus it will lead to losing the audience.
Don't understand that you can't kill off characters, because you can obviously, it just has to be done right. The execution matters. Making it make sense with the story thus far and if it's within the character.

Their are possibly two live action that may be put into production. A Lionsgate movie and a Netflix TV show. Both due to the success of the One Piece adaptation.
The Lionsgate movie has been 'in development' since around the time of the ending. It has been stuck there due to Naruto fall from grace and more importantly sales. If it's gotten out of it, its due to One Piece.
Netflix tend to produce and release the stuff they make regardless of quality. They started I think this year after One Piece was successful.
Both of these will take years to produce before they ever hit any screen.
I see. Thanks.
So the movie is basically in limbo while the show may come to fruition due to the success of the One Piece show.
Yeah I don't really know what to say at this point, Netflix like you said does have that history of releasing stuff regardless of the quality, for them and most streaming platforms it's not about quality it's about quantity. It's about having a big enough catalog to justify the price and to attract people to their platform by having the viewers go "OMG look how much there is here." So a Naruto show might actually exist at one point.
Even if they do let's say a portion of the beginning of the manga, will that be enough to draw in people? Considering that most people who would watch it are old fans and know how the story goes and ends and continues after the ending.
I say it's a tough sell no matter what they do.

I have the impression that Pierrot pays for bots to defend Boruto. This happens because recently there has been a discussion on Twitter that everything in the Boruto anime is canonical, and there are no fillers, based solely on the statements of the writers that everything is endorsed by Kishimoto, which supposedly makes all events canonical. They seem to ignore the fact that Pierrot conveniently erased elements from "The Last" when necessary. Additionally, there is a group of people that appears to be composed of bots, excessively defending the Uchiha family with questionable arguments, and even resorting to using novels that sometimes resemble fanfics.
When I visit the profiles of these individuals, it feels like I've entered a fantasy world, where Sasuke's personality seems to have come out of some generic shoujo anime. The majority of these profiles were created exactly in 2017, the year when the anime came to an end and the couple in question faced a lot of criticism.
Pretty much all corporations and companies use bots. And even governments use them. A simple google search gives you enough places where you can buy bots to use as you wish.
The reason they use bots is because it's a lot cheaper to use them than actual humans. Now why would you do such a thing? Simple, to convince people to buy your product (which works) or in case of politics to convince people that one point of view is the majority so you should go with that point and not oppose it.
It's going to be a lot more difficult starting now to determine what is a bot and who's an actual human due to the rise of "A.I." it's not actual AI it's just a bot that has access to more data. That's really what all these A.I.s are now. For artificial intelligence to exist it needs actual intelligence.
I'm pretty sure most of you have read a review of a product online stores like Amazon or whatever you have in your country or reviews for movies/shows, and those reviews are always like "Best product ever, must buy. Greatest movie of all time, must watch. Product works would recommend. Very good product. Best anime ever. etc." These bots had a very limited database of what to write and do, now with the introduction of ChatGPT (Which is a language bot. It just talks nonsense without having any idea what it's babbling about it) has access to way more data, but it's still just a bot, there's no intelligence. If in its database it has that 2+2=5 then that's what it's going to repeat no matter what. There's no intelligence behind it to realize that 2+2 doesn't add up to 5.
The simple truth is that bots are cheap and profitable and they work to convince people.
Also hi. I'm back... again...again. Hopefully this time for good period. My grandmother decided to fall again and well went through a lot of stress and taking care of her and surgery. Why do people refuse to listen when you just want what's best for them?
Although it's a good thing she did fell because we were able to catch another health problem with her that we wouldn't have discovered/known about if she didn't fell.

I mean even regular fans have started to go the it was all an illusion/dream route.

Kishimoto is at his strongest in short self contained stories.
This comment is what people should always keep in mind when talking about Kishi's writing.
He's only good when it comes to 1 short story that is contained.
