This was so absolutely ridiculous it isn't even funny.

That moment had me in a limbo. I couldn't defend it at all. So I lost. Looking back, my god, did it really made people pissed beyond belief. It was so bad.

The rip off ones.

 

Naruto shadow clone was clearly a rip off of Tien's multiform. TFS made fun of that.

 

Naruto's rasengan...is clearly a dumb version of Bardock's spirit cannon

 

Naruto's Fuuton Rasenshuriken is a dumb version of Krillin's kienzan

 

The Chidori is a dumb down version of Makan Sala la pakan

 

Shadow clones were not a Tien's attack ripp-off. Ninjas were capable to do that according legends, stories and folklore -needless to say, ninjas gleefully helped to spread them, even if they did not create them-.

 

Most of that list does not sound like "Kishimoto ripped off Toriyama". they sound more like "Kishimoto and Toriyama had the same influences and used the same sources".

 

Let's remember that even if Dragon Ball was HUGELY influential, it did not create most -or any- of tropes that people associates with it (such like calling your attacks. Toriyama actually parodied the trope).

 

You know, this reminds me of someone claiming that the scene where Iruka shielded Naruto from Mizuki's shuriken was a rip-off from a supposedly similar scene of a Mega Man anime. I was tempted to tell that person that if he/she is going to pretend that Kishimoto plagiarized Mega Man, then Mega Man plagiarized Astroboy and Casshern/Casshan (Mega Man's actual influences).

 

On topic... I have no idea. I think that I had stopped caring for power-ups for a long, long time, so I do not remember which of them annoyed me particularly.

That Dragonball-based...err I mean 'Rikudou-blessed' power-up because that was really over-kill, and kyuubi mode since kyuubi' cloak wasn't like the rest of bijuu and it's no fun to me LoL

I always knew naruto will become strong enough to become hokage but I never expected he will get as strong as he did. 

 

The power scales become ridiculous as a result.

 

Sasuke's power ups really pissed me off though. It reached a point where if felt like Kishi just kept pulling powers out of his ass for sasuke. It ruined the uchiha clan for me.

Good point. Sasuke's far more guilty of power-ups that come out of nowhere than Naruto.

I initially focuses on Naruto, but if were talking every character:

Shadow-Clone Training....No built in limit. Kishimoto just kind of ignored it after it's first use, but it really had no practical limit.

 

Izanami: A techniques that made no sense, whose existence also made no sense, was not properly explained, and was never anything more than a cheap ass plot device to reform Kabuto.

 

Susano'o: The epitome of overpowered throughout most of Part 2 and really the point where the Sharingan flew off the rails. And if that wasn't enough there was a perfect version too.

 

Eternal Mangekyou: We'll so much for MS's only limiting principle. It technically had a high cost, but everyone who mattered (besides Itachi) ended up with it anyway. That and the very concept made no sense at all.

 

Chiyo's resurrection: Talk about a fodder character. High costs don't mean much when nobody cares about the person who has to pay it. 

 

Gedo Mazo: because having to face the consequences of your decisions is for suckers. I mean this for both Nagato and Naruto.

 

The Sage powers: I already mentioned these in an earlier. I loathed everything about that plot thread. 

 

Snake Wing: How the hell does it provide any lift?

 

Edo Tensei: Started off cool, but then it turned a mess that cheapened death so bad because it was so horribly abused in the war arc.

I don't like how in Naruto bringing back dead people is not such a big deal. Like I know it's fiction but to completely undermine the relevance of bringing a corpse back to kittening life takes away quality. It seems Kishi has never suffered major death in his life and I don't like how he handles death in Naruto.

Susano'o was the most visible of overpowered for me, but I'd chuck in Bijuu mode as part of the same general problem of part two. Kishimoto lost control of power levels. I liked Naruto originally because it didn't do this at the get go, but Kishimoto fell into the same problem many stories like it do.

It was? I don't see it necessary for anyone. Itachi was the only person who ever seemed desperate (and that was a ruse) to farm other people's eyes because of the MS's problems. I think it'd be more interesting if that problem weren't so easily solved within the story.

And they both sucked. That it was in preparation for one of the manga's low points doesn't save it.

The disappointment was strong in me after both watching the reunion between Sasuke and Naruto, and reading the skill tables of the data books. It was absolutely ridiculous how much stronger Sasuke was. Physical superiority, mental superiority, ninjutsu, genjutsu and Kenjutsu against what? Clones, two types of Rasengan...and a smidge of Kyuubi's chakra...

I don't have the issue with the power-ups Naruto got, my issue is more that after the initial Kurama mode, the power-ups were not earned, they were just given to him, like the power-ups Sasuke got, which had always been my biggest issue with his power-ups as well.

 

It was the timeline in which it happened as well, Kurama and Naruto hated each other around chapter 500, and they were actings like best buddies by the end, which would be fine, except the time difference between Chapter 500 and the end was like three days, Kurama's view on Naruto changed too quickly and dramatically, and the number of power-ups he recieved were also too fast, if we look at the actual time-scale from when Naruto gained Sage mode to the end we are likely looking at under a month actual time, so for years all Naruto had Rasengan and then within a matter of a month, he went from not being Kage level to being God tier. While I didn't have an issue with the power-up, I did have an issue with the manner in which he gained his last two upgrades.

 

I also had an issue with the fact Naruto never got any of the abilities that should have been his birthright, all he got was the Rasengan. I wanted to see him inherit his clans abilities, I wanted him to learn Fuinjutsu, heck I wanted him to learn something that was not Clone or Rasengan related.

Remember this started as a story about a reckless kid who would make his own way in the world, and threw hard effort would eventually prove his worth to everybody.

 

It ended with Naruto being the chosen one, who had the powers of a God placed on him, because he happened to be the reincarnation of some guy who was important in the past, but was never talked about until the moment he showed up in the story.

 

Part 1 Nartuo= I will be Hokage, and prove to the world that every life matters! No matter how small! I will prove that even an orphaned boy like me can work his way to the top and become a great leader that everyone will admire and emulate!

Anything past Sage Mode is annoying aside from the first Nine Tails Chakra Mode as Naruto had to fight Kurama for that and train it somewhat. Everything else, ie Hagaromo Gift Giving Charity, can go die in a hole.
