As a big fan of the game (my favorite "Tales of" game), I'm glad to see Abyss get a whole series and not just OVAs like Symphonia and Phantasia. The first episode aired Friday, and so far so good. They stuck pretty close to the opening of the game, with the exception of introducing Natalia before Luke and Tear "meet". The animation quality is really great (it seems Pizza Hut supports more than the rebellion ). They even kept karma as the OP.

It's not that big a surprise they'd introduce her so early since she does have a long standing relationship with Luke and Guy.

I'm not marking the change down as a negative. I'm glad she made her appearance early on to establish that relationship, rather than mirroring the game, where we weren't really introduced to her until after Luke's mini-adventure

You actually beat me to this thread (oh well).
But I still wonder when they're going to release subs.

The 'new' opening's awesome and the ending is just as good.

One thing I am wondering about is if they'll be able to do the whole story in 26 episodes...

Now they just have to release the rest of the Tales of Symphonia OVA so they can start working on Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk anime... then Tales of Vesperia!

They finished the events in Cheagle Woods in episode 2. If the story moves along at this pace, I don't see why they couldn't cover the main story in 26 eps.
