1) Megaman Battle Network/NT Warrior. The manga was freaking awesome. If you want an example of how awesome, read volume seven. Sure, the plot needs work and the characters are a bit shallow, but I will always pick up NT warrior volume 11 before reaching for higher class stuff.
2) Tsubasa Resivor Chronicles. My friend got me into this, and I loved it. I borrowed from her until I started getting my own.
3) Digimon. I can't explain it, but even though it's a little juvinile, it's easily one of the best digitally-based shows out there, outclassing (in my opinion) Reboot and .Hack. For a while, I would hold imaginary battles between my pokemon and my digimon.
4) Robotech: The Macross Saga. Plenty of gigantic transforming Robots, Heavy firepower, awesome, deep characters, love triangles, drama, romance, and science fiction, all blended together to create one of the most perfect anime ever.
5) Transformers. Need I say more?
Honorable mention (Because I don't know if this is Anime or not:)
Code Lyoko. A great show that's fun to watch if you're five or twenty five. Plenty of drama and romance for the older crowd, and lots of fighting in a virtual world against an evil supercomputer. A great anime. If you like Naruto, I advise giving this a try.

Technically, it isn't because although it looks like an anime, the show is created by France, which they are now using anime-style in some of their cartoons (another show which has that anime-style is Totally Spies!, another French-produced cartoon)
Anyways, I like Code Lyoko. I was amazed when watching it. And I want more... damn Cartoon Network, hurry up with CL!
