But then again, as much as Disney today, they bringing back the animation classics we fell in love with The Princess and the Frog. I hope that will be a blockbuster...

What I can't stand about Disney today, are all the unnecessary flops sequels to all the classic animated movies they started creating. I mean come on now, Cinderella 3 - Cinderella goes back in time err.gif
Or the Little Mermaid 2 and 3. Or The Lion King 1 and A HALF DX

And all the other ridiculous sequels that they created, that just makes a mockery of the original movies that Walt created.

I honestly don't see what all this negativity is about. I see this more as a breaking new ground for both franchises. Seriously think about it.

Anyone up for a X-men reboot?
Though to be honest, Prosfessor Xavier and the Seven Mutants would be cooler...

Forget Kingdom Hearts 3. Now we could have Marvel Hearts!!
Sora: "Thanks for helping us defeat the Heartless and rescuing my friend Kairi, but now we must return to our own worlds"
Hulk: "NO! HULK NO LEAVE. HULK SAD"
Sora: "Don't worry Hulk we'll always be together...in our hearts..."

And oh my God how could I forget the possibility of
DISNEY vs. MARVEL?!?!

Actually, most sequels weren't worthless and they were called "Direct-to-Video" sequel in the first place. Let's start with Aladdin, which had the first movie sequel of the Disney classics. It became so much of a hit, many people wanted more for it to continue, so you can see why Aladdin and Jasmine weren't married yet until The King of Thieves. The Lion King had sequels because after it became a smash hit, Disney began eleborating the series like crazy (trust me, go find those 6 New Adventure Books) before 2 was in production (and it was following a "Shakespearen" formula). Then we had some that needed to be more eleborated like Pocahontas (since some of us know the story, people wanted to see how she came to England in a child's mind).

Now... others like Lady and the Tramp, Cinderella, Fox and the Hound, Bambi... those weren't need to be continued. And that came toward this reason why they are stopping making sequels.

What's Happening with the Naruto series as of now!

John Lasseter felt the same way and they've since stopped making those, in case you didn't know.

Also, random thought: They should so make Darkwing Duck an Avenger. fu.png

I dislike Disney for the same reason I dislike Wal-Mart. They control and own far too much in our country. I don't think Marvel will change too much but I hate to see this juggernaut own this company. (Pun intended. :X)

Well, here is to massive monopoly control. kruemelmonsteryn0.gif

On the plus side, Marvel now has the backing of a large corporation. Which means they won't need to be quite so ruthless in dropping lower selling titles. Had this occurred a couple months ago, Captain Britain and the MI13 might still be in publication.

Unfortunately for everyone : It's not gonna happen.

It's like Pixar with Disney. Disney helps, doesn't butt in. Everyone is happy. Marvel is Marvel and there's no Kingdom Marvel or anything of the sort.

....Thankfully.

Me too, but after initial panic, I'm trying to look on the bright side of things. If this means Marvel won't be so quick to jettison lower selling series, that would definitely be a positive. DC has this sort of thing; the backing of Time Warner and their deep pockets has allowed them to take chances and nurture series in the past. Take Jonah Hex, for instance, which has sold low but consistently and yet still gone on long enough to be creeping up on it's 50th issue; DC can afford to do that but Marvel really couldn't beforehand unless it was a pet series of an editor in a high position.
