Okay, since there's now an NFL thread and a World Series thread (sort of), I see no reason for there not to be a hockey thread. Although, I do expect this thread to die a quick and unfortunate death. Oh well, here goes.
New season of the NHL is a few weeks in, and my Avs have won 3 in a row to pull to a record of 3-3. Our goaltending got off to a shaky start with Peter Budaj, which lead to a few losses (even though the losses weren't entirely his fault). He got three losses in a row (all one goal games) and Andrew Raycroft came in and got two quick wins, then Budaj was put back in and got another solid win. If our goalies could just get a bit more confidence, I actually think they can both be pretty successful. Budaj has been awesome in the past, and Raycroft, despite having a horrible last two seasons, has the potential to be good, as he showed in the first two seasons or so of his career. The Avs can be competitive in the west, but really, the entire conference is a toss up.

Go Wings! I'm from the Detroit Area so yeah I'm a Red Wngs fan. So far so good. 3-1-1. Still early though. We have a great squad with the addition of Hossa and of course Datsuk and Zetterberg. Don't know if the Avs will do much. My eyes are on Dallas and Anaheim to give us trouble as well as the Blues. But its still early. Hopefully we can keep the cup in HockeyTown!!!

I think the Avs will be able to get things done this season, despite the low expectations...especially if we stay healthy. Budaj can do it, he just needs to get his head there.
And ZJ, the Sabres are actually undefeated in regulation so far...XD

Same problem except worse. At least Toronto is a major market and on occasionally. I'm a Calgary Flames fan, they're almost never on.

I feel your pain.
Actually, the only team closer to where I live than Calgary is Vancouver, so I could conceivably get more of their games than Toronto's.
If anyone in my area gave a crap about hockey, anyway. Damn basketball junkies.

Yeah, it's hard to catch an Avs game where I live, but I get to watch some online. I was able to catch the end of last night's game, where we beat the Sabres in a shootout. >D It was awesome.

I've given up on Toronto ever redeeming themselves again.
I'll stick with watching the Flames, since they can actually do some good.
