Grave of the Fireflies 10/10

Seriously this is one of the best anime movies out there! It started with crying and ended with crying, lol, I thank NFFU for that :zaru:
The relationship between the brother and the sister is one of the best relationships I have seen in a anime movie!

Watch this! I really recommend it:D

I've watched it yesterday with my father T_T I didn't cry b/c for some reason I never cry, but it was still a beautiful movie. I give this movie a 9/10. The audio of the Japanese dub lacked a little (well, it's from the 80's), and some of the musical pieces didn't fit in my opinion. The sibling's relationship shined, however, and belongs to one of thr most beautiful I've seen in anime.

Memento: 9.5/10
Christopher Nolan's first significant movie, and let me just say this: Oh My God!!! This neo-noir, psychological movie is brilliantly written. I was absolutely blown away. A marvelous movie shining through its intricate narration method that combines two time sequences- one forward and one backward- to imitate the main protagonist's point of view as he suffers from short term memory and how he tries to cope with it while trying to chase his wife's murderer. Almost a tragedy in my eyes if you ask me.

Recommend this movie to anyone who is a Christopher Nolan fan.

It follows 1/10- it sucks so much it gave me cancer.

Robert 0/10- probably the worst horror movie I have ever seen, it sucks so much more than it follows.

The Great Gatsby 2/10- a movie that made me fall asleep, too much talking crap and drama.

Scream 4 8/10- now I know this movie is a bit old but I finally saw it and I was impressed Wes Kraven did it again and to think this was the last movie he ever did.

The Visit 7.5/10

I have not been a fan of Shammies' for a while. This was good. It was a return to basics for him, which after his last few films was a great way to approach a reset. I have it at a 7.5 instead of an 8 because there are things that happen that really pull me out of the film. Some are cringeworthy. But there are good bits. Good show. I am now looking forward to his next film.

Finally saw The Avengers Age Of Ultron last week.

And I liked it but I liked the trailer more. I was a bit disappointed, it's not a bad movie it's a good movie. But I don't know maybe my expectations were too high. Again don't get me wrong it's not a bad movie, for me it just didn't live up to hype.

Ultron as a villain sorry to say this but I didn't feel any threat coming from him. Loved his lines but didn't see him as a worthy opponent. Scarlet Witch was more of a villain than he was.

Speaking of worthy, can someone explain to me why Vision was able to lift Thor's hammer? Is he really worthy or is like Tony and Cap said he's artificial so the rule doesn't apply to him or is it because of jewel?

Thumbs up a good movie just not great.

Oh I forgot the romance, why is that even there? It was forced and zero chemistry between the actors. Why did we need to see that?

Which I've told you - time and time again - is dangerous! There will never be consensus, son, among those you have helped to ascend. They will all differ in their views of what it means to be free. The peace you so desperately seek does not exist.

These men are united now by a common cause. But when this battle is finished they will fall to fighting amongst themselves about how best to ensure control. In time it will lead to war. You will see.

I just saw Age of Ultron as well. It was fun. Definitely underwhelming.

There were a lot of good ideas, and many of them worked on some level. Base enjoyment was maintained throughout (almost) the entire movie. There were some interesting character ideas... some of which were explored better than others.

Ultron in particular was fantastic. He wasn't particularly menacing, no, but he was very interesting in the way he was written and especially in the way he was acted by James Spader. He definitely deserved a better movie to star in.

This movie had way too many god d*mn jokes. I wouldn't doubt it at all if someone kept count and told me there were over 100 jokes in the film. There were so many in the final battle in particular that any possibility of tension was repeatedly killed over and over. There was no intensity in that climax, and it was heavily because of the absurd amount of jokes.

The romance was also really rushed into. I like the idea of the pairing, and there was potential for it, but they dive-bombed into it so hard and so fast that it was incredibly jarring and strange.

A big criticism I hear about this movie is that it's the same as the first Avengers. That's definitely not true; Age of Ultron is inferior in almost every way. The first Avengers was much more balanced and well-executed, and infinitely rewatchable. Age of Ultron is a fun way to kill 2 and a half hours, and not much more. It certainly wasn't bad, but it could have been so much better, one of Marvel's best.

I guess I'd give it around 6/10.

Same feels here. Safe for Ultron maybe because I don't remember too much of what has happened in the movie that would make him stand out for me in a particular way (but then again, this movie was forgettable after all).

My next concern is now how the development in this movie will affect Captain America 3 as the transition to the next superhero movie basically makes Captain America a mini avengers movie now... Say what you want, but I'd still like the final installment out of the Captain America franchise to retain its own identity, but I'm bit skeptical about this. Captain America 2- Civil Wars was a great a movie in my eyes that had a great dynamic b/w Captain American and Black Widow going on to the point that I just would have wished for them to have actually gone cannon in Age of Ultron (even if it would have been borderline clichee).

Inside Out: 9.5/10

I finally got to watching this movie! Absolutely loved it. While the presentation of the human psychology was oversimplified in here, you still got to understand the importance of memories and the fragility and instability a child's emotions have to deal with. Watching this movie surely evoked some sort of memories back in every watcher, evident in the quiet sobering I heard in the background. Great job Pixars! You did it again.

Goosebumps 2015 film with Jack Black as the lead.

Let's just say it brought back my childhood, as I used to read those books and even wacthed the T.V show that came on at 3:30 on the dot, were I lived in Texas. Slappy the Dummy is the main villain in this film along with the ghouls, the Invisible Boy, and several other Goosebump villains that have escaped into the real world and with one thing in mind destroy their creator before he can trap them in a book again.

Slappy is looking good compared to his old T.V show look; he actually looks like the book covers art drawings of him in the movie.

I give the plot a 7 out of ten as it has the usual Goosbumps feel too it. A mixture of comedy and horror blended nicely in the creation of this flim.
I gave the special effect at least 8/10 with the automation work they did with Slappy in my opinion brought them up in the special effects department.

Musical score:10/10 The music fit perfectly with the feel of the story and plot progression

Acting: 8/10 The acting was done perfectly for the settings and the moments surprisingly well for a kids movie

Over all score: 8/10
Them Duke boys never meant no harm.--------> my childhood.

I saw Bridge of Spies last night. I was really disappointed and would only give it a 6/10. It wasn't a bad movie. Hanks did a fine job acting. It was cool seeing the kicker from Friday Night Lights and Herc from The Wire. But it never kept me on the edge of my seat. There was no real tension despite being billed as a "thriller."

I'm not some young millennial who can't tolerate slow, plot-driven movies. But this just felt like a slow, old-person film. Hanks will probably get nominated for best actor, which would be a shame.

Bridge of Spies 10/10

It was a very good I don't see how people thought this movie was a thriller since it seemed to be a movie based on true events The Powers-Able incident. From, what I have read up on the incident it seem less likely to be a thriller of any kind.

The Martian

Well I expected it to be a decent movie do to its hype and people saying how good it is. Because sometimes that's usually the case when a lot of people say it's good, I don't like it or in reality it's just bad.

However I have to say it was a good movie. But and here comes the but, if you have seen the trailer you already saw the movie.

And I don't mean the trailer spoils bits and pieces of the movie, it just flat out tells you the movie exactly in order. The trailer tells you the movie from start to finish. The trailer for the movie is basically a very short summary of the movie, from the very beginning to the very end. The trailer is the short version of the movie.

So if you've seen the trailer you also saw the movie. My advice either don't watch the trailer or if you did somehow try to forget about it in order to enjoy the movie.

Thumbs up good movie. Just ignore the trailer or don't see it. The trailer I mean.

Minions

I'll start by saying I really liked Despicable Me, didn't like the second one. And the truth is they should've stopped at the first movie because Minions is the third one in the series and it's awful. It's incredibly boring, it's not really funny apart from maybe 3 moments in the entire movie. The plot itself is stupid. This movie is purely done because they saw Despicable Me was successful and people liked the minions so let's use them to grab some money.

Thumbs down this is a movie that shouldn't exist.

A perfect getaway

6.8/10

a couple goes to hawaii for their honeymoon.. and got caught up in an unexpected murder case.

i didn't expect the killers to be who they are, so it did well in that aspect i guess.. but i had to wiki the story to find out exactly how it happened... the movie is too unclear about it.. also the plot twist made the first half of the movie quite redundant...
