They could have been at least more imaginative with it. Just saying   that "red string of anihilation " was the most piss poor literary excuse I've ever heard in my life

Well you guys it's that time of year again where I gather the NaruSaku crew for an anniversary resurgence, and this year we talk about rewriting the story of Part 2 entirely.  Unfortunately we weren't able to get MangaReader, JamesSCassidy, and TouKen4life on this anniversary podcast, but they will be on the follow up podcast since they missed out here on this podcast. That being said, asides from me, Chatte, lkmnjh, and BlueStarSaber have shared their perspectives on how we should Rewrite Naruto Part 2, and boy it was a lot of fun!

Been waiting for you to post this Luckychi, now I just gotta find the time to watch as my week will be very busy. 

Anyway I have got a question for everyone here as I have had this thought for a while. We all know that Kishimoto was told that Sakura was hated by the fandom (particularly the western/american fandom), but I wonder was he told the reasons why Sakura hated?

 

As when he talks about this he says his attempts to make her more popular were to make her prettier and I'm wondering if he was misinformed on how he could change that later down the story, so the Studio and editors could make their preferred ending happen. Granted it could just be one of his ridiculous answers for his post ending interviews or him having a very shallowing understanding of how to make female characters more popular.

 

Because I'm pretty sure if any of us were his editors we would of told him in order to make Sakura more popular and less hated, you would have her to get over Sasuke and have her tin a more active role in action scenes or important story events.

As for your question, Blue, I'd say that it's very likely that Kishimoto wasn't told jack and **** about why Sakura was hated.

He was shown youtube videos from what I recall; he mentioned that throughout his interviews and one of them mention that kishi told him that he was actually a fan of his videos. But remember they tried to somewhat hide the fact that they hated her because she didn't put out for Naruto in chapter 3; putting him in the dreaded friend-zone. Instead, talking about how useless, ugly, and unimportant she is and how Hinata is sooo much better.

It's called the Manji, and its what was used a lot in Buddhism before Hitler inverted it for the Nazis' symbol, seeing the Manji as a sign of power when he made it into the swastika.

Hmm, that sounds good it's what I do in all of my Naruto stories, I mean with some of them I still have Naruto think he can change them, but only for him to find out that they are too far gone.

 

I mean I think that it is needed to show Naruto that there are some people that you can't reach.

I can't speak on behalf of the person you're talking about, but for the majority of dedicated Sakura detractors I've seen on YT/other platforms, I seriously can't even fathom the amount of BS spewed. It's beyond ridiculous and most importantly - not true. Like you mentioned at the end of your post, it's one thing to dislike a character based on actual evidence (which they lack, for the most part), but to also pit said main character/female lead against a secondary character who doesn't appear often and argue for the latter is seriously telling on themselves and immediately discredits their arguments.

Hell, they won't give Sakura credit for anything. You know the Sasori fight? Many American fans believe Chiyo did all the work in that fight despite Sasori constantly complimenting Sakura, Chiyo being injured or simply out of commission for the most of the fight, and Sakura inventing the antidote to the poison that even Sasori himself said would be nearly impossible without knowing what ingredients were in to make it.

Kakashi AND Naruto chased after Deidara and actually let him get away from them and this is seen as a victory, but Sakura beating Sasori is simply unrealistic.

No joke, I had someone tell me to read the manga and see how worthless and pathetic Sakura is and that if Chiyo was not there, Sakura would have died, but go back and you see it is actually the other way around.

This is how much hate Sakura gets. You point out ANYTHING she does and they will give some excuse on why it is not as great as you think. Hell, I am surprise they allow Sarada to be Sakura's kid and accept that because if Sarada is better than Bolt, and it seems to me they like her better than Bolt, then they are giving credit to Sakura for it and actually admitting she made something or did something amazing.

I am surprised they don't say "Sarada is definitely Karin's kid because Sakura can't produce such wonderful offspring."

By the way, the guy that said Sakura didn't beat Sasori....I sent him 75 panels each with a description of every single panel what is going on. He has not replied back to me since.
