Since Naruto's ending with two more chapters left and we only have one more week of the shipping war, I feel like this thread is appropriate. It's based off our Naruto prediction thread in the general section because I figured why not make a ship one. We're in our final stretch and now it's time to take a guess until we see what happens.

 

As for myself, I'll say it will probably be a PoaL callback and a Naruto confession. I think the promise to bring Sasuke what was truly solidified the NS relationship and where it actually truly began. Combined with Kishimoto's love to go full circle and use parallels with Naruto mentioning the promise a few chapters earlier, I think this is the most likely choice.

 

So how do you guys think NaruSaku will finally be canon? Place your bets now!

I've just written it in another topic...

If I were Kishimoto, I'd do it this way, but I'm pretty sure he won't give us that much.

 

NS moment can be the opening scene of the next chapter. Everything is black, Naruto is unconscious due to blood loss, but then he hears a voice. "Wake up!" It sounds familiar. "Naruto! Naruto, please..." He can't tell whether it's pleading or really angry. "If you don't, I'll... go there where you are and beat you to your second death". Definitely angry. "I won't forgive you. You said that you would bring Sasuke back, but..." He suddenly doesn't want to open his eyes, because he's just curious. "But I need you to come back. Come back to me..." He smiles and thus blows his cover. "Naruto! You... you litlle..." "Hey, Sakura-chan, don't be so rough. You should have kissed me, you know..." "Huh?" "I'm the injured hero, so kiss me better..." Too smug for his own good. "Idiot!" Sakura is crying, and Naruto is the one to kiss her better. NS confirmed.

Probably like how Ed and Winy became canon (kind of rushed and sandwiched at the end) the problem is that worked with EdxWinry because their feelings for each other were made canon a long time ago and touched upon every now and then. I fear Kishi will screw-up cuz he's been playing this "will they, won't they} crap for 15+ years and giving an ending like that ill be unsatisfactory because how much they cared about each other was never really elaborated upon for the sake of keeping it a mystery till the end.

I meant that if NaruSaku were to become canon, it could happen in any one of those ways, because I can't see it happening any other ways.

 

Personally, I think the most likely scenario would be everything happening off-panel. I'm not sure if I can expect any of those other 4 scenarios happening and if it would definitely make NaruSaku canon if any of them occur, but even without on-panel developments, by just looking at the story as a whole it seems like NaruSaku is the pairing that has been chosen by the author to happen.

For real though, any of the above are satisfactory and worthy of canon fulfilment.

It will happen off panel, but they won't be shown to be married I think. I hate the idea of it being canon off panel, but I think this how it will be, since kishi most likely won't waste pages for NS moments in the manga(also if he does he will lose more than 50% audience which are NH/SS fans) and in the movie I don't think their will be time for much more than subtle hints that they did or did not come together

I think a POAL call back, with flashback of him telling Sai he can't tell her how he feels yet should be there, THEN since Sasuke is back, Naruto can finally confess...he feels worthy enough to confess. (lol like he was ever unworthy, he is so humble!<3)

I couldn't combine those. So I picked Naruto's confession.

I've got a few scenarios in my mind.

 

1. Sakura and Kakashi arrive and Naruto is "dead" Sakura freaks out and starts to do whatever she can to revive him but it doesn't work --- Sasuke or Kakashi is the one to say 'he really loved you', similar to Sai, and Sakura realizes her feelings even more now that Naruto is lying in front of her 'dead'. Naruto then proceeds to wake up and touch her face, similar to the OVA.

 

2. Sasuke and Naruto are both 'dead' and Sakura's choice on who to heal defines who she loves. Naruto then proceeds to wake up and touch her face, similar to the OVA, maybe with a confession now that he's returned Sasuke.

 

For some reason, I really think it'll be a life and death situation that makes Naruto and Sakura confess while he's on the brink of death..

He got Sasuke back, he fulfilled his promise to Sakura, now he can confess his feelings.

I'm actually voting on the bench scene idea. I'm pretty sure that scene was actually pretty relevant, believe it or not.
