#985368 The Great Naruto Discussion Thread

Posted by Moon_Girl on 29 September 2021 - 07:28 AM

I half expect neither of them to die simply because Naruto has already been killed due to bad writing and more bad writing wouldn't phase me anymore.

Or maybe killing Naruto would be a mercy kill so he doesn't have to deal with his crap family anymore-
Burrito dying would be a mercy kill for the readers.

Plot twist Hinata and Mop (the female crotch goblin of Hinata's) die instead to save us all. Including Naruto.
(Yeah, don't we wish.)

Regardless, the series can't be saved anyways.

Those would be "extra appeal points", if anything. Post time skip, sure. But she had vocal supporters even when she was 12 with the body of a twelve year old, and still had those fans saying she deserves a chance with Naruto. No, It was always her devotion to the social pariah that fans loved about her above all else first, and the "stacked, super model body" came after.

EhhHHH, kind of? Hinata got a lot of "oh she's cute" "AWWW she has a crush!!" focus. People loved her because they could relate to her in a way.
The ~hot bod~ hit her 12 year old self too. But not in the manga. Any of you remember the infamous waterfall filler episode? Where, for no reason, she was dancing naked in front of the waterfall and Naruto was just ~oh so enchanted by her~. SP had the hots for her even when she was 12.

Question... where were you when you first saw the ending?

Here...and the Narutofan forums.

Its her devotion to Naruto they like, not her personality; as long as she has that, nothing else matters.

Don't be silly. There's also the bewbs and ~hot bod~.  :fu:

People loved the NaruSaku dynamic. So they're trying to bring back the people who loved that by turning Hinata into Sakura.
They really think we're that stupid, huh?

#984938 Crunchyroll and funimation are merging

Posted by Moon_Girl on 11 August 2021 - 07:58 AM

I don't know how Crunchyroll is doing their subtitles. But that doesn't sound good. Funimation is infamous for changing the translations to reflect Western SJW talking points. To the point that it's even pissed Japan off and they passive aggressively clapped back. I can't blame them. They're taking the creator's original messages, meanings and story and twisting it into something it's not. It's extremely disrespectful and I wouldn't be surprised if it got to a point where anime studios won't want to do business with funimation anymore.

I kind of lost respect for funimation when they started throwing in pop culture references that most certainly was not a part of the original script. I just want a translation of the script. No changes aside from making it sound more natural in English at the very most.
I just want the original script. No cultural changes, no pop culture references, no SJW talking points, no politics from any side, no nonsense.

It's very frustrating since I like to buy the physical copies to support the creators.

At least they look their normal selves, who the f is that balding sad old man in burrito anyway

NH fans can have that one and we can have the normal nardoxD

Oh, and Moongirl, I just read a boruto movie overview and now Im even more convinced. Naruto is even worse a dad than I thought, I thought he was just neglectful like Sas. But hes worse, hes downright abusive and spends all his time in his office to purposely avoid his family. There are good SNS moments, mild anti nh/ss, but Naruto barely smiles and looks depressed most of the time. Its like a dystopian whatif verse.

The boruto manga actually has some happy family moments, but its not written by Kishi, until now.

Yeah, pretty much. Anything that isn't written by Kishimoto makes NH look like the happiest and most perfect family. (Though these are the same people who tried to turn Hinata's personality into Sakura/Kushina. Yeah, BS. Studio Pierrot and his editors and some of his assistants love Hinata. But he obviously doesn't.)
But when Kishimoto gets his hands on it, he makes it way more honest and truthful. Naruto isn't happy. He chose the wrong girl in the end. It cost him his happiness, distanced his bond with Team 7 and his hokage inauguration day. All he has is a pushover wife who can't raise children and cares more about him than their kids and two snotty, ugly children that are huge brats. He really doesn't like his family.

Kishimoto has done a new sketch for a tennis player at the Olympics with naruto and sakura https://twitter.com/...3763030018?s=19

Good try, Kishimoto. But no. Also lmfao at everyone thinking this is SS because it was revealed on Sasuke's birthday. How delusional can you get? Sasuke isn't even in the fukin picture. And considering how badly Kishimoto has treated SS, I really don't think he had SS in mind at all. You know. Considering he more than likely hates the ship.

Is there a way for Kishi to redeem himself?

I've said it before and I'll say it again; The ONLY way I would see him redeeming himself is to spill the truth, confess he fuked up, disown the ending and burrito and then do something about it. Make a new canon ending. (Didn't the Shaman King author do something like that?)

Maybe he would actually regain at least some of the fans he lost and possibly regain the respect he once had.  :zaru: But the truth is that some people will never trust him again after this and never respect him as they once did. Even if he did so.
But he might actually have a chance again if he did.

We all know, however, that the rabid shipping fans, the rabid hinatards in Studio Pierrot and his editors all have him by the nads. So it'll probably never happen. That would require him to have a backbone. Which we know he didn't have for the ending. Plus the longer he waits, the less impact it'll have. As I mentioned before, we're almost on 10 years of this BS ending. 10 years is a bit late to beg for forgiveness. Would be way better than nothing though. It would at least show he might have grown as a person or maybe *gasp* grew something of a backbone.

I've seen some people hope that the end of burrito is just Hinata waking up from infinite tsukuyomi. As hilarious as that would be, I def would not hold my breath. It would certainly out her to be even more of a horrible person than we thought since her 'dream' would include Sakura being put into an abusive relationship and a horrible situation as a debt ridden single mother(Who may not actually be the actual mother of her child and is just raising the child of her 'loved one' and another woman?) who apparently no longer has any contact with her ""closer than family friend, Naruto"". Yet cheerfully supports and ships Naruto and Hinata.

Not to mention her unhappy family. Maybe even she knows Naruto wouldn't be happy with her.  :chuckle:

As for Naomi, I don't know anything about her except for what you guys just shared. Kind of strange Kishimoto drew a picture for her if she's disliked in Japan.
Unlike the West, Japan is pretty dang conservative and hate the kind of social justice you see on the internet. Despite Japan loving to use twitter, they often avoid Westerners for a ton of reasons. Partly because of the SJW situation and because Westerners have zero respect for their work. Turns out Japanese folk really hate it when people use their art or repost their art without their permission. Or share pages of the doujinshi they make online. Ect ect. They deem it extremely disrespectful and a general distrust of Westerners have formed because of it. They also really frown upon what a lot of Westerners tend to do; pirate anime/manga/video games instead of buying it and supporting the studios/creators.
As long as you don't check off any of those boxes, then they'll often give you a chance/be cool with you. As a fanartist myself, I do understand their feelings on the matter.

Anyways, it does make me wonder what the circumstances are behind Kishimoto drawing a picture for her. Maybe she's a huge Naruto fan and her favorite characters are Naruto and Sakura? Either way, putting Naruto and Sakura in the same picture isn't going to appease what's left of the NaruSaku fandom. Nothing romantic about the picture either, so why should it?

#984907 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by Moon_Girl on 08 August 2021 - 10:33 AM

I always felt like Kishi was very bitter about his ending. Would explain Himawari knocking her dad out on his most important day, Narutos treatment of Hinatas bento etc.

Kishimoto being bitter about the ending seems pretty obvious. For the reasons you stated, plus the suddenly shoving Hinatata's into the heroine spotlight and dropping false praise onto her for being the 'byakugan princess' and 'oh so stronk'. The interviews of Hinatata being supportive from the shadows kind of heroine and Sasuke being like a drug to Sakura.

Not to mention, how horribad the SS ''marriage'' is. Sasuke never kissing Sakura, but apparently knocked her up?? Never being around despite Naruto saying he should be. Leaving Sakura to try and manage a crippling debt and raising a child all by herself. To top it all off, Sasuke should know how important parents are to a child. Just like Naruto has no excuse for ditching his kids other than he may just dislike them.

The "who is the real mother" gaiden chapter was pretty obviously another jab at it all. There's so many little holes you could poke into that chapter. Naruto actually believed that Sasuke could have knocked Karin up and she was Salad's real mother. What does this tell us?
That Naruto and Sakura never see each other anymore apparently. Out of nine months of pregnancy, he never saw Sakura pregnant? Did anyone see her pregnant?? That could have helped a bunch.
Kishimoto saying "the read decides the mother" was probably just his way of avoiding hate from the SS crowd. Any sane person would not look at that chapter and go; "Oh yeah, Sakura is the real mother." without question.

With how bad SS marriage is and Gaiden highlighting that (Sakura not remembering if Sasuke ever had glasses?? How???? If she was so obsessed with him her whole dang life. The photo she shoved herself in when it was actually a photo of him with other team, Sasuke not being around for Salad's birth and first 12 dang years of life at all, Sakura's single motherhood and crippling debt, never having kissed, over working herself and she apparently has had bad health that makes her faint, for a while??, Sasuke and Sakura never giving Salad a straight answer, Karin having the umbilical cord despite that right belonging to the birth mother, Salad needing glasses and the glasses were a gift from Karin...)

Like, c'mon. A giant clusterfk. I really don't doubt that Kishimoto was doing it all on purpose. He's not happy with the ending. But he's realizing now that it's forever going to be stuck to him. He can't get away from it. (Hence his cut short new manga and returning to Burrito)
He gave the shippers their horribad ships and tried to make them train wreaks without overtly doing so. He failed to realize how delusional shippers are. Some will worship their OTP no matter how bad it gets and romanticize everything. Even if it's bad. Sasuke could murder Sakura in cold blood and they'd STILL find a way to say that their ship is perfection all while making it some kind of Romeo and Juliet tragic romance. I 10000% guarantee it.

And Hinata is doing exactly what Kishimoto wrote her to be. A plain, boring, personalitiless, bend-over-backwards, cardboard, long retired ninja who gave up on her clan, selfish af, anything for nawooto-koon, housewife who can't even raise their children right. (Studio Perriot's attempt to turn her into Kushina/Sakura is something I deem non-canon. The only canon that shows her motherly skills is when she let Burrito walk all over her till she cried and her ignoring the safety of her own fukin children, kids 12 and under, over Naruto, the fking hokage. How deranged do you have to be to have no faith in your 'most powerful ninja of the village' husband but think your literal 12 and under children are a-okay? And then, like history repeating itself, needed to be saved by Sakura.) A waste of space, ink, time and resources.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Regardless of Kishimoto being bitter or not, I still place the blame on him. Along with his horny editors and horny studio perriot. He didn't stand his ground and caved into the pressure. A few loud fans got what they wanted and the silent majority disappeared. He made his bed and he can lay on it.
I really hope his wife still gives him crap about the ending. I really, really do. Because he deserves it.

#984905 Boruto: The NeverEnding Prologue Chapter 60

Posted by Moon_Girl on 08 August 2021 - 10:06 AM

Also seem the boruto is an infinite tsukuyomi theory has popped up again.

As much as I'd love for the horrid ending/burrito to be fake this whole time, I highly doubt it. We're inching towards 10 years since then. At this point, I don't think pulling an infinite tsukuyomi would bring the fans back. Way, way WAY too much damage has been done and it would be like putting a band aid on someone who lost all their limbs.
Plus we'd need some actual, legit evidence.

Wishing it was an infinite tsukuyomi isn't much of a theory as it is just wishful thinking.

On the one hand it explains so much so thans for the info. On the other hand one must really re-evaluate what is canon then. but lucky for us official NH artwork is non existent or was never popular enough to actually take off. And even if NaruSaku official artwork is just "Fanservice", the story was giving them moments anyway. Yay us!!! lol

This can be applied to manga chapter covers. Remember the Fantasy themed Naruto chapter cover and the western chapter cover?
Certainly don't remember those happening in the main series.

#984366 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by Moon_Girl on 28 May 2021 - 08:02 AM

Moon_Girl just posted something on the general thread.

SS appeal is they are the standard Shoujo pairing. I mentioned this years ago but if your were to make Sakura the main character the dynamic between her and her teammates are very common in Shoujo manga. Sakura is the plain average quirky girl with some self esteem issues that wants to find love. Sasuke is the rich mysterious bad boy that secretly harbors feeling for main girl despite often pretending not to care. Naruto is the friendly energetic guy that clearly likes main girl but isn't going to get with her because he isn't as sexy as dreamy bad boy.

Read The Class President is a Maid as an example.

Sasuke is the cool dreamy bad boy the girls want to fix. Sakura is their insert character. Sasuke is popular in Japan.

Though like Moon_Girl says they like SS but they knew it shouldn't have happened because everyone over there knew NS was the story's pairing. They are continuing to watch Boruto because the anime feeds them scenes of their pairing every once and awhile when they need money.

At least Maid-Sama's couple was mutually in love and not abusive.  :fan:

But yeah, SS/Team 7 love triangle is very 'shojo' cliché gone wrong. At least in shojos, the man actually cares for and loves the girl, unlike SS.
When I started Naruto, I was a big Shojo nut and not even I supported SS. Leave the shojo to the shojo authors/artists.

SS was popular because it hit the mark for shojo lovers and girls who found the sauce to be 'hawt'. But I don't think people expected it to happen. Just because a ship is popular doesn't always mean they want or expect it to happen in canon, either. Sometimes they just enjoy a pairing in their own fantasy mind. Looking back on early SS fanart and such, this was very much it.
I mean, geez, they should at least be in somewhat touch of how fandoms work if they're going to try and base things off the fandoms. And not BE a part of the fandom, due to bias. (See the editors and anime studio Hinatards that are at least 50% to blame for this crapshoot of an ending)
I mean, people will ship anything and everything. Not exaggerating and I'm sure a lot of you are aware as well of this. People who HATE each other guts usually end up the top (or among the top) ship for a lot of fandoms.
People who have never met could be top ships. People who are horrible for each other. Who are boring ships. Bad ships. Cross over ships. Illegal ships. Ect. Doesn't matter, people will ship.

Considering how little they get from international sales, I wonder if the new editors and anime studio Hinatards only used Hinatata's popularity in the West as a reason to back up their own selfish desires.

#984342 The Great Naruto Discussion Thread

Posted by Moon_Girl on 24 May 2021 - 03:00 AM

SS has always been the most popular of the big three in Japan. But even so, the fans were expecting NaruSaku to happen. They know they can milk the pathetic SS fans for all their money because they're still a big portion of the Naruto shipping fandom compared to NH. And they can get away with it because SS is non-existent in the main story. So they'll grab at any tiny morsels that they can.
Naruto disappointed everyone in Japan, so they can't milk him or NH from the Japanese fandom anymore. They would be making way more bank, not just in Japan, if they didn't circle jerk Hinatatas for the unholy amount of Hinatards in the West. It doesn't help that NH was the least popular of the big 3 in Japan.

That user thinks they're flexing on Naruto for SS being more expensive than the main character, but in reality, they're getting taken advantage of and japed for their money. There's a thing called 'character tax' in Japan. Where you can jack up the price on something because it's a popular character and they know that stupid fans will happily pay the royalties for the item. No matter what their place is, in the series they're from.
A good example would be Artoria (Saber) from the Fate series. Because she's so popular, fans are wiling to pay 10 times the original retail amount for her. This poster cost $20 originally? It's now $200.
Yes, people will pay for it.
This goes for ships too.

I've come to find over the years that a lot of 'official' artwork for a series isn't even canon. It's all fanservice. Even if the studio provided the artwork, unless it's an actual scene from the series/source, it's not canon. It's fanservice. Never happened. They do this to push hype, push characters and even push ships that may or may not have a presence in the series/source.
So they're willing to pay premium for non-canon official postcards. Even IF the scene in that SS post card is possible, it's still rather pathetic. Sakura focusing on Sasuke while he doesn't even look at her. BUT THAT SMILE MEANS HE LIKES HER RIGHT??
Sure it makes it more positive. But geez, he's still not even facing her. That's what you want in a relationship??? For $19, you can have that loveless relationship on a postcard that never happened in canon.  :chuckle:

#984223 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by Moon_Girl on 09 May 2021 - 03:28 AM

I recall someone believed that marketing and the people whose job was to know the figures of what sells thought this was a bad idea. Which is why the Last ads hinted a NS ending at least until pre-sale tickets were sold and the manga ended.

Oh gosh, that whole debacle. That was a horrible thing they did. Purposely teased Team 7 AND NaruSaku, zero Hinata to be seen, to get the pre-sale tickets and then go 'sike!" and refuse refunds. Aside from getting their reputation dragged through the mud, they really should have gotten some sort of punishment for that. I really wish they did. That was seriously awful.
I still remember the teasing line: "Sakura has really become more beautiful. Surely Naruto..."
I'd love to give whoever thought of deceiving everyone a taste of my fist. And if there was more than one, they can line up for it.

#984204 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by Moon_Girl on 07 May 2021 - 01:04 PM

I think they mean how a lot of Hinata merch suddenly popped up after the ending. Not just in America.
She got new figures, a nendoroid, ect ect.

They probably think she sells when a lot of the current fans don't even give two craps about her. They're just here for the fights and cool ninja techniques and couldn't care less about pairings. Even though they tend to agree that the endgame pairings were absolute piles of dung along with Hinatatas.

The crazy Hinatards are apparently frowned upon in the Naruto/Burrito community. At least from what I last saw on the Naruto subreddit a couple of years ago.
They downvoted all the Hinatards and dissed her + them.

funny i saw a shirt in hot topic yestersay of team 7 and it was naruto sakura yamato and sai

And yet Hot Topic was guilty of selling a NaruHina shirt shortly after the ending. It was an anime version of the manga cover of Naruto and Hinata holding hands. (Neji who in the background?)
