Today I learned:

 

Apparently if you go to the Ichiraku Ramen wiki page (I`m having my first ramen on monday) and check the trivia you will find that in some brave new world canon version of events not only did Naruto and Hinata go on several dates there but apparently "Hinata Uzumaki" somehow defeated both Choji and Naruto in their ramen eating contest.

 

I REFUSE TO ACCEPT THIS

 

Sooner will I accept the notion that Sasuke somehow loved Sakura all along than the idea that Naruto took Hinata to his favorite ramen shop, owned by the two people who are arguably at worst the second people to accept Naruto if not the first.

 

This man and his daughter have been there for/with Naruto his entire life. They are so important to him that he made sure they had ample bussiness by using his star power to name drop them to people. This dude is the ramen king of Konoha thanks to Naruto.

 

So am I to understand that this glorious man and his daughter who have seen like 25% of NS development play out (possibly more off panel), just stood there as Naruto dated Hinata and never asked A BUNCH of question about his thing with Sakura which would have been obvious to them.

 

These two are way too MVP for this. (Still some of my favourite characters).

 

For the second issue. Hinata was never seen eating Ramen. And if RtN is a semiaccurate portrayal of Hinatas figure, then she is not far off from Ino in terms of body type. And Ino has been stated (in the anime at least) to be regularly on a diet. So were supposed to assume that this girl defeated two guys who are food consumption gods. The only reason naruto isnt fat and dead is his apparent genetic predesposition to ramen consumption and Choji actually is fat.

 

So what gives?

I said this before: they're merely creating new "facts" about Hinata so that she superficially appears more compatible to Naruto and not a poor rebound girl, which she is no matter what NaruHina and SP want us to believe. I've also suggested that she may not even like ramen, she just eats it so that in the hopes that she would be more appealing to Naruto if she emulated his interests, which is likely considering Hinata's character and pretty pathetic.

Oh it is getting worse, dude. You are having Hinata starting to take on personality traits of Kushina in Boruto just to make it more seem like "She is the girl Kushina was talking about." Hinata is just constently getting focus in no matter how trivial it is. World in danger? Maybe this magical scarf Hinata knitted will save the day.

I also have to agree with the thread.

Hinata and Naruto made sense to me. Hinata has always had feelings for Naruto and was one of the few to respect him and like him while everyone hated him. They just needed more character development because they rarely interacted and Naruto just considered her a friend

 

I HATE these arguments with a passion. You can basically apply this logic to any paring in the series whether canon or not and it is so kitten opinionated rather than factual

Well, Naruto and Sakura made sense to me because Naruto said he loved her since the beginning. End of story. No amount of retcons will change that.

This is worse than than just a mere flashback detail. This is down right right retconning the entire manga down to a T and creating what appears to be two different types of stories. Yeah, flashbacks have changed a few things, but it never changed the characters in the past personality wise. It always just seemed to reveal a small detail that was missed. This is downright changing things to the point that even the characters themselves don't even know what the kitten is going on. All of a sudden Naruto knew Hinata a long time ago? Then how come he expresses how he never knew her and just "saw her" on the first day of class? Now all of a sudden it is winter in Konoha when during the entire story it was never winter? Since when did Kushina knit a scarf? Nowhere in the entire story did Kushina knit a scarf. And so much more.

There is a big difference from "Adding in a detail" to "changing the entire story due to character amnesia." Like, how would you feel if the next Star Wars movie had it where Han Solo blew up the death star with Han just giving Luke all the credit because he didn't like being in the spotlight. How would that make you feel? That's is what Naruto/Boruto is doing.

It's that kind of bullcrap.

There's nothing that screams poor writing better than random flashbacks and/or event insertion flags after the fact to insure pieces of your story, with respect to characterization and plot, fit and "make sense." I can't wait for the SasuSaku date flashbacks where Sasuke shows up with flowers and a box of chocolates outside of Sakura's door while reciting poetry about her beauty. Or the event insertion where Hinata somehow beats Sakura in a spar or is an Otsutsuki reincarnation/descendant 😑

Well we knew that the animators have a thing for her. This is just another one of their "special" moments where they show yet again what they care about.

At the same time, they've tried to shift Hinatata's traits onto Sakura, like the "prone to fainting" crap, even though Sakura has NEVER ONCE fainted throughout the entire manga up to that point.

Although to be fair I expect her (Salad) to get with a guy that emotionally and mentally abuses her plus stabs his hand through her heart as her (possible?) mother did. Hey that's just me, and Bolt should get with the Clone of his mother basically those PEDO CLOWNS at SP don't have any right to be shipping, Hetero NaruXSasu 2.0 anyway since Hinata is all they are really about

Actually there was omake where she did beat naruto in a Ramen eating contest where naruto came in 3rd Yamato in 2nd.

So, this showed up in the Boruto manga?  That's still just as much BS as her being a "scary mom"  considering that she never expressed any type of temper nor was she ever illustrated on being an  enthusiatic eater, let alone of ramen.  And the idea that Naruto would come in third to Yamato is even more ridiculous considering that he inhales the stuff on a daily basis.

Sakura and Syaoran were also planned from the beginning, that is just ONE of the factors on how they are infinitely better
