Pretty much. Ideally he is suppose to be a reformist, but how he acts in Boruto is just another cog in the machine that has changed very little.

Has anyone seen that animated Transformers Movie One last year. In it Optimus Prime was optimistic if a bit dim miner-bot that wanted to fix the problem their planet was having by trying to find the matrix of leadership, and prove their caste system wrong. Megatron was a loyal obedient miner-bot that worship their leader and though they should not question the system. Both were of the low caste cogless miner bots that entered a race only transformers were allowed to enter, a slighted transformer sent them to the lowest level which kickstart their adventure to discover the truth about the world. All the problem inflecting their world was their leaders fault: he betrayed their world to the enemy, killed all the primes, Primus shut down energon production in response to his actions, and he removed the transformation cog from certain cybertronians to create a caste to mine the energon that was left. Optimus was largely unaffected by the revelations because he already thought the system was unjust and needed to be changed. It broke Megatron he wanted to get revenge and even killed Optimus to get to him. Then Optimus revive with the matrix of leadership, defeated then banished Megatron, and then fixed the system. Megatron refusing to work with Optimus despite him fixing the problem Megatron had with the system due to both refusing to admit Optimus who he thought was a fool was right, and out of guilt for killing him in anger.

While not the same it is similar to and somewhat Naruto and Sasuke should've been. Naruto always somewhat hated the system for treating people like weapons and wanting to change it. Sasuke was content with the system as he wanted to fashion himself into a tool for revenge. No revelation truly broke Naruto because he always had a problem with the system. While learning the truth about his brother broke Sasuke. The problem with Naruto is Kishimoto never laid out what problems Naruto had with the system and how he was going to fix them. So when he became Hokage it was meaningless because what did he accomplish? Did he do anything as Hokage?

In Topic: Bail o' Lies Nickname of Boruto's character for the summaries.

Due to how long that original post is and also its part two I decided to make it a new post. It going to be about the change that have happened to the characters in part 2.

The big change from part one is they seem to want to use more of their very large cast. In part one it was pretty much Naruto, Sasuke, Boruto and any Ikemoto character with the most important being Kawaki and Amado. 3/5 of Neo-Team 7 barely existed or were even relevant in the story in part one. In part two they try to make them part of the story. How successful is it...

Main Cast:

Neo-Team 7

Konohamaru is the team sensei. In part one, he barely existed and was replaced in importance by Sasuke as a mentor for Boruto. The team also rarely went on mission and he was almost never involved when they got into a fight. In part two, they try to make him more involved by making Moegi become one of the first tree people. He does not come off as either strong or competent when he should be one of the strongest ninja in the village.

Boruto Osutsuki is Bolt. At the end of part one he had his life swapped with Kawaki/Nail by Eida/Hime's power of omnipotence. So he has been on the run for the past three year training first with Sasuke then with Clone Jiraiya. He is no longer an annoying spoiled brat but is tried to be portrayed as a somber solemn serious cool character, but to me it clear they are trying to hard to make him cool and he just comes off as lame. After Sasuke got stuck in a tree he started working with Clone Jiraiya who warned him of the future and trained him using his future sight to make it the most effective. So he has been trained to the point no one can stand up to him in a fight, save the big bad. He barely tell his friends any info they need to know.

What he learned over the time skip was sword play from Sasuke and two powers from Clone Jiraiya. Flying Thunder God, no not his grandfather signature jutsu, but pretty much the same power with extra steps which makes you wonder why didn't they just teach him seals? Uzuhiko his overhyped ultimate attack a shinjutsu which is powered by the rotation of the earth he need both his feet on the ground to charge it. At low power it gives people vertigo. At high power its a spirit bomb rasengan.

Momoshiki Otsutsuki is Femmy. The antagonist from the movie that implanted his karma seal on Boruto to take over his body. After Boruto nearly died he had to use up the rest of his seal to save him preventing him from being transformed into Femmy, and is now a voice in Boruto's head trying to take over. He has not appeared so far in part two. So either he has been completely absorb by Bolt's psyche or they consider him a distraction and haven't used him yet.

Sarada Uchiha is Salad. One of the few people that is immune to Omnipotence for some reason. She spent the last three years trying to explain to the village what happened at the end of part one to no success. She should be one of or the most important character in the story as Boruto's goal is to support her in the shadows once she becomes Hokage. That is still barely ever focused on and instead they decided to double down on her being the love interest for Boruto. They understand she needs to be important to the plot but they don't understand how.

Eventually they decided that her Mangekyo Sharingan would make her powerful enough to stand up the tree people. One of her powers is to make Black holes/gravity balls.

Mitsuki is Cups. Orochimaru's son. He barely existed like the rest of Team 7 besides Bolt & Nail in part one. to the point that they didn't even address Boruto being his sun till the start of part two. Hasn't changed that much.

Kawaki Uzumaki is Nail. Ikemoto's self insert. He and Bolt switched places due to Hime's omnipotence at the end of part one. Clearly, someone made it clear to the staff, that he is not popular as he has been turned into a joke at the start of Part two. This eventually had to be explained so he can receive a power up so he can actually be a threat to Boruto instead of a nuisance. He didn't change that much, its more the story stopped worshiping the ground he walked on.

Kashin Koji is Clone Jiraiya formerly Barbarian Hair. He disappeared midway into part one. Turns out before he was killed his power of future-sight awakened and he was in hiding to prepare for what is to come in part two. He works with Boruto to defeat the tree people.

Shikamaru Nara is the not Eighth Hokage. He is in charge since Naruto is gone and they didn't want to make Konohamaru or someone else in charge instead. His role hasn't really change as the beleaguered lesser intelligent manager who can only obey and follow the plans of any brilliant Ikemoto character he talks to.

Supporting Cast:

Sumire Kakei-Shigaraki is the Clone. Studio Pierrot's Clone of Hinata who they want as the love interest for Boruto. She is Sarada's friend and they talk because they are both immune to omnipotence. She is somewhat upset that Sarada is clearly in the lead in the person who will end up with Boruto.

Himawari Uzumaki is the daughter. For some reason, was never trained at the academy, in the manga. Kurama was reborn inside of her to give her a power up. So she can go toe to toe with the tree people. She is a better Jinchuriki than her father. She has healing powers so they don't need a medic.

Neo Team 10

Moegi Kazamatsuri. Ikemoto's favorite character. She was turned into one of the tree people to make her important to the plot. She is the love interest of Konohamaru.

Shikadai Nara is Shikamaru's son. Hasn't really done much.

Inojin Yammanaka is Blond Sai. Was nearly killed. His mother is honestly more important to the plot than him as the psychic phone line and likely Ikemoto's second favorite character.

Chocho Akimichi is Fat Filler. Barely done anything.

Neo Sand Siblings: Three kids Gaara adotped.

Shinki is Eye-Run Sand. Was from the movie, obsessed with his father, has the power of Iron sand, and was turned into a tree person.

Yodo is Blond-D. In love with Shinki. Died so Sarada can use a power she had already unlocked.

Araya is Mix Master Fold. In love with Yodo, was given a sword by Shinki that can controlled Iron Sand.

Amado Sanzu is Madoc. He hasn't been as omnipresent as he was in part one, thankfully. He seems to mainly exist to give Nail power ups so he can stand up to Bolt.

Delta is Mustard. Still around.

Eida is Hime. Is aligned herself with several groups. Kawaki because she helped him with the Omnipotence. The village some times by informing them what is happening too late to matter. And with Clone jiraiya who she seems to have the best working relationship. She tends to just lounge around her room commenting on events or giving people the play by plays.

Daemon is Moe. Barely changed, barely has done anything. Hell, he doesn't even seem to be doing anything with the daughter.

Antagonist:

Code is Punk. He was hyped up as a big threat at the end of part one but was quickly reduced to a joke. Probably because he wasn't popular. He created the nudist from the the ten tails which led to the creation of the tree people.

Divine Tree/Tree People. Its suppose to play on the Trope of turning love ones into evil minions that need to be freed by defeating their evil copies. But they reveal the cure almost immediately so there is no drama in how to save them. The only issues is dealing with their absurd power levels.

Jura is Tree-Jenga. He is supposedly a new character created by the tree. But let's be real, he is pretty much the Kara leader from part one. He is the Big Bad so he is the strongest character. He is hungry for knowledge and ponders the meaning and importance of love. He wants to eat Naruto.

Hidari is Tree-Sasuke. He has no memory of Sasuke but he wants to eat Sarada.

Matsuri is Tree-Moegi. Which allows Ikemoto to draw his favorite character in a skin tight leather/metal outfit. She wants to eat Konohamaru.

Mamushi is Tree-Bug. Some lackey that hanged around punk was eaten by a tree. He wants to eat Hime.

Ryu is Tree-Shinki. He can use Iron sand powers to form attacks from what his outfit is made of. He wants to eat Gaara.

So Gunko/Army Child had a bit of a flashback when the kids started crying about father and had a flashback about Brook. Who comments she looks like someone he once knew. Implying Brook is her father. There are a few theories. Here are the top three:

1. Brook is just straight up her father.

2. His old captain of the Rumbar Pirates Yorki is her father.

3. Brook was once a captain of a battle convoy of a certain kingdom in the West Blue, it where he was taught his fencing style before becoming a pirate. God Valley was in the West Blue. Brook died 52 years ago. God Valley Incident was 38 years ago. So 14 years after Brook died. Its possible that Gunko was the former princess of the kingdom Brook served, he knew her when she was young. Then when the World Noble "conquered" the kingdom she was part of the spoils and was turned into a God's Knight.

She is the only God's Knight we have met that has not been called a Saint, the title of a world noble, nor had her last name revealed.

Oh Clarkson's Farm is having its 4th season come out this Friday.

Summary Time: Chapter 22. Jura...Tree-Jenga.

....BiiiBHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Cover Page is Bolt in a blue t-shirt hand in pants pocket trying to look cool...it is not a good thing when I look at a character and think, "God that looks lame."

With Salad out, there is only Mix Master Fold and Cups up, surrounded by nudists. With Eye-Run Sand's (I should probably update the nickname topic soon) Soul Bulb hanging in the air. Cups tells Fold to take the soul bulb and run to free Eye-Run...isn't he stuck in a tree at the villain's base? How he suppose to get there?! Or did they fight Tree-Moegi somewhere else? Out of a Nudist pops Tree-Jenga. He makes note of Salad and then ignores the Soul Bulb because he wants to deal with Bolt.

Konohamaru notes that Bolt took down a tree person with one attack. Bolt and the writer tries to justify this by saying she was already damage or it wouldn't have been that easy...this is again to deal with last chapter "cool moment" for Bolt screwing with the power scales...again. Else Bolt can pretty much deal with all the Tree-People save Tree-Jenga (and maybe Tree-Sasuke) by himself in under a minute. Who would have to be so strong that no one can really fight him with how much a boost in power Bolt got since... pretty much Ikemoto became the mangaka. Tree-Jenga tries to snipe Bolt like he did before, then flies off to confront him. Moegi's bulb forms and Konohamaru ask how is it suppose to free her? Granted Bolt doesn't have time to explain, though he should have explained that before, hell make a shadow clone to both escort him out of the area, while also telling him how to cure people stuck in the trees, then dispel it so he is at full power for fight Tree-Jenga, and orders "Master" to go back to the area the team met up with the Neo-Sand Siblings...when has he ever called Konohamaru 'Master?' Hell, when has he ever shown Konohamaru any sort of respect? Is it a translation of Sensei?

Konohamaru gets the message after he is saved by Bolt from an attack by Tree-Jenga and books it. So, Bolt hits Tree-Jenga with a rasengan...has he ever used his invisible rasengan since it was introduced in the movie/ first ten chapters? If he not going to use that can he at least upgrade to elemental rasengans? They fight. Tree-Jenga compliments Bolt's ability and calls his attack the Flying Thunder God...How does he know that? It not the same, and it was named "in honor" of his Grandfather's jutsu, He should be calling it a move similar to it, not uses its name. Like how does he know its called that? Just have Bolt learns seal and used the original if you have this problem.

Hime and Clone Jiraiya chat. CJ confirms that Bolt stands no chance against Tree-Jenga and its difficult to escape due to his FTG requiring to sense and focus on his metal pins, it difficult the farther away they are, and he won't have time to focus with someone as powerful as Tree-Jenga fighting him. Also, he knows that Bolt's plans to hold out to allow his friends to escape with the bulbs.

Tree-Jenga has Bolt's back to some standing rock asks him some general questions as well as his spiel about love. Bolt decides he needs to use that useless Uzuhiko again...the thing he needs to stand still with both feet on the ground to charge? He uses the time Tree-Jenga monologue to charge it to the vertigo level. Tree-Jenga after feeling the effects notices that its similar to the Biju Bombs he uses so he was able to nullify it...so the most useful aspect of that over hype attack is now useless.

Also remember, that the Rasengan is based off the Biju Bombs, but was able to hurt Tree-Jenga. While Uzuhiko is Shinjutsu that uses Natural Chakra of the Planet (or some Semantic bs) which was one of the few thing the Ten Tail was weak against as they were immune to normal jutsu powered by charka but can be hurt by Sage mode or Taijutsu. Yet, Tree-Jenga can neutralize it after feeling its effects for a few seconds. Granted at best the weaker Vertigo one not the spinning spirit bomb he used against Tree-Sasuke.

Apparently, Boruto fans sent a pipe bomb to Chibi Reviews over his opinions on Boruto. Apparently, he needed to get both Homeland Security and the FBI involved.
