Apparently, DICE announced today that there will be another Battlefield game and once again it's going back to it's roots by releasing another WW 2 game. Here is the first official trailer.
As far as I know, they are using the Frostbite-Engine, which was used in Battlefield: Bad Company. That game (never played it myelf) was as far as I could tell an attempt at trying to gain market share from the Team Fortress 2 (awesome game) players with the semi-comical 3D engine. Clearly, that video release of BF1943 is rendered and I doubt that it shows real ingame footage.
The tanks for example look a little weird, but one plus point I saw was the fact that the vegitation(trees) could finally be damaged.
Oh and apparently it's suppose to be released Summer 2009. And before I forgot, if anyone attends Comic Con this weekend in New York, you are suppose to be able to get a first glimpse at the game there.

I have to say that they could've been more creative than adding one more year to BF:1942
But if they are plannig to use the Engine from BF:BC we can assume they'll keep the destructible enviroment as in BC.
