You know what, things like this make me wonder: why not do an alternate universe? It doesn't have to be as long as Shippuden and Boruto, just enough to give the NS fans what they wanted. It could be the Japanese version of Renew Your Vows. Fans get the best (although with Boruto and the Last I wonder if this really is the best they can do with that pairing). Don't like NS? You still got the canon. Like NS? Great. They've got two products they could sell to different audiences and make money. 

 

Clearly Kishimoto does not give a kitten about the series anymore, I doubt this would register with him.

That would make it way too obvious that they did the wrong thing. You have to understand that they did the WRONG thing. They didn't do something controversial or take a risk. It was just wrong what they did. If that becomes obvious to the general populace, they can forget about having even the modest success they have had. Because no one wants a product that is strictly inferior. No one plays sports games that are 3 years old, for instance. People don't want something worse when there is something better. So it would lose them money in the long run if they weren't willing to reboot the series entirely.

I just want to point something out about Renew Your Vows, just because it is well received does not mean they are putting Peter Parker and Mary-Jane Watson back together. They understand that it is popular, and that it what the fans want. So they are fine with using it to boost sales, but they are not putting them back together. From what I understand even RYV even happening was pulling teeth for years by the fans. The reason is; Joe Quesada. He wanted the break up to happen, and the backlash got him remove from EiC but promote to their creative overseer or something like that. Joe before one more day was a hero that restored the comic book industry from ruin after the 90's, and gave a lot of the people working at marvel (especially the higher ups) their jobs as well as the reason they even have job. So him being crucified by the fans enraged them, and they have refuse to bring that pairing back permanently out of spite. They use it to boost sales, and that is it. Well, until probably Disney tells them to officially put them back together.

 

As for Naruto. Beyond not wanting to admit embarrassingly trying to appeal to a mythical foreign fanbase that never showed up? The franchise it making just enough money to stay afloat enough they don't want to rock the boat, SP staff is obsessed with nH so let them do what they want instead of dealing with an giant otaku hissy fit, and kishimoto is done either he wants to leave to do a sci-fi manga but can't, or he become so disinterested he is fine with just remain the editor for boruto.

Why play Naruto when you can play the awesome Spider-Man game? Not finished with it yet but I like that they gave Mary Jane helping Peter.

Just have to address this: That's actually untrue in regards to the Peter x MJ relationship. All that information regarding Marvel digging their heels over restoring the relationship out of gratitude towards Quesada was unfortunately part of the propaganda dispersed by Dan Slott(and eventually parroted in news articles, blogs, forums etc), as he didn't want to revisit the relationship in his Amazing run and kept unilaterally claiming (baselessly and without supportive evidence)that others at Marvel felt the same. In separate interviews with Marvel writers and editors over the years, however, they express fondness over the pairing and stated that they would have no problem with the marriage being restored. Even opposers to the marriage such as Joe Queasada himself reneged on his position on the relationship in recent interviews this year by saying that he likes the pair and it was never Marvel's intention prevent them from getting back together permanently(though he likely stated that under some duress after realizing that the pairing's popularity has survived 10+ years and that his belief that a single Spidey would net more sales was flawed). Nick Spencer's interview in July via the Washington Post exposed that not only were Slott's claims that the anti-Peter/MJ sentiment was pervasive amongst Marvel staff were lies, he also reveals that he fully intends to bring Peter and MJ's relationship back to what it was pre-OMD and that he is spending time having them work through it. He also stated at SSDC that the reconciliation of Pete and MJ is "not going to be a joke" or a red herring, so he isn't intending to break them up for shock value or a misguided idealogy that Spidey having a serious romance somehow makes him "less relatable". And in the issues I've read, he's keeping to his word.

That scene is probably the second most contradictory scene after the H&E bridge scene. Because why would you have her do that if she was supposed to be with Sasuke? To think that an author would do this purposefully is really idiotic. Especially that dumbass panel with Hinata smiling in a way that is not even sad. Even Hinata had no illusions that Sakura wasn't sincerely accepting him. The whole thing is infuriatingly stupid.

That's nice if it is true. But I have seen people get their hopes up about this for years about them getting back together only for it to be dashed. Celebrate when it happens. Don't do it prematurely because they could easily pull the rugs out from under you.

 

As for Joe and Dan.

 

Joe from what I understand at the time was going through a very nasty divorce, in that dark time he decided to lash out, and end any marriage in the Marvel universe he could get his hands on. Now, it has been years so he may regret it, but even if he doesn't from what I understand he has been very hands off those properties since.

 

Dan Slott from what I know of him. He is the creator at marvel that gets into arguments with the fans the most. He also is the longest writer on Spiderman, which from what I hear was just to spite the fans. As for his writing from what I understand it started out fine if you ignore one more day, but hit a problem because Spiderman had nowhere to go character wise or was it no one was willing to take the steps necessary to push him forward in a permanent way. So the story got stuck in a rut. From what I understand, it was pretty much down hill after the superior spider man story line when Dan gave up even pretending to care.

Honestly at first I just did a bit of a search and couldn't find it. Then I searched for the picture specifically and I did find tumblr, facebook and other pages and it does appear to be from the game. Thing is I couldn't find much of this game, I mean I was expecting to find a lot more like with the older games, where information was everywhere, everyone was talking about. This game? Not so much.

only way I'm buying anything Naruto related again is when Kishimoto himself admits he kittened up, then he fixes the ending the way it is supposed to be. Until then, Naruto belong with Superman 64 and the rest of the stuff that I wouldn't even disrespect my trash can with.
