NH is a pairing that need sacrifice / blood to happen. If you think about thats really creepy. I really feel bad for neji, died for something like that, and still not free from his clan curse.

I wonder if Neji really did die for NH. There was another plotpoint that his death closed off as well, he was finally free from his curse. But I always thought he and Hinata would marry to unite the branches and fix the clan with the new Hokage, Naruto. That'd be much better. Fixing the system was such a big deal and Neji should've been a part of it, ensuring that what happened to his father never repeats itself.I just wanted Neji to accomplish something more than feeling peace at the time of his death. He didn't have a reason to feel peace imo. :'c

 

But even after Neji died, we got strong NS moments like the 630 speech, CPR, the whole convo with Minato etc. Maybe Kishi wanted to use the little time he had left, or maybe this was even more of a shortcut decision than we already thought.

Well every time Naruto and Sakura even interact now it makes them look worse, like Sakura's confession and that scene in the Last. In the end, I don't think it would make much of a difference for me.

So they only interact two times?
Make sense since sakura is not the heroine.

I will agree with ss if only sasuke love or show romantic interest with sakura back then in part 1, because ss use shoujo logic. But he didn't do that, because he isn't interest with her until chapter 699.

Neji deserve better, he is a good guy, he should be free from his cursed and like you said married with hinata and unite the branch and head family, with naruto support as hokage. If kishi think that the only way to free neji from his cursed is through death and become cupid for NH, thats just sad, its like NH demands sacrifice and blood. The only one who deserve [its a must in my opinion] death is sasuke, he should be dead and be free from his clan cursed and clean uchiha name, and karin should be reveal pregnant years latter because she inject herself with sasuke DNA. But SP and kishi editor idea is everyone must be paired and have spawn for next gen movie/ new era project.

Poor Neji, he really can't escape fate. He's convinced things are set in stone, yet Naruto convinces him that you choose your own destiny. The guy who said you choose your own destiny turns out to be a child of prophecy who is one half of a reincarnated pair.... and then dies to fulfill the destiny of NH.

Honestly, IMO the only somewhat romantic moment between Sakura and Sasuke came when Sasuke was leaving the village in Part One, when Sasuke says 'Thank you' before knocking Sakura out. I do think that Sasuke was thanking Sakura for caring about him, even though he didn't really deserve it (and I think Sasuke knew this as well). At that moment, Sasuke was still somewhat redeemable because he did feel something for his comrades.

As messed up as the moment was, I would probably count the whole forest of death incident as a somewhat romantic moment because cause of how he genuinely seem to care about her getting beat up by the sound ninjas enough to try to rip that sound ninja's arms off. I can't really think of another moment were they had any real connection other then these two moments.

They couldn't even give the Naruto the dignity of being a big boy about his feelings for Sakura. You know, like they did in Part 1.

Yeah that's something else that bugs me, why couldn't they make in such a way that Naruto acts like a man?

Ok they wanted to make NH canon but why couldn't they try to at least make it believable? Of course no matter what they did it still would've been garbage but at least it would've been believable garbage.

 

For example instead of jumping forward two years for no reason, why not use those two years to develop their pairing in order to make the fans swallow it easier. Or show that Naruto finally meet his match with Sakura in terms of never giving up because Sakura will never give up her love for Sasuke, and Naruto will never give up his love for her. But just like in part 1 Naruto puts aside his own feelings and steps aside and let's Sakura have her happiness. And then he just slowly falls for Hinata.

Yeah it's not great but at least it would be somewhat believable. Or he just discovers that Hinata is the better option. Or anything for that matter.

 

Instead they made sure to ignore and get as far away as possible from the manga. And telling lies and contradictions that anyone with a brain that read the manga know that those things never happened or are plausible in that universe.

None of that is romantic from sasuke side.
All ss moment is purely from sakura side.
All sasuke do at best is a sign of good teammate.
Why do you think kishi struggle to find reasoning for ss to happen?

It's because there's this notion that if Naruto's love for Hinata isn't his first and only love, then it's somehow tainted and not as good. That's why there's this whole subplot about Hinata being upset about Kushina's scarf, because she thinks that Naruto is already taken. That's also why they erased Naruto's love for Sakura and turned it into a rivalry game, because otherwise it would make Hinata seem like a silver medal.

 

Now in order for NS to work, Sakura would first have had to overcome her love for Sasuke. Does this make Naruto a silver medal? Yeah, but so what? Sometimes things just don't work out like that? It's not about whether someone is your first love or your second love or your third love. It's about whether it's good love. Does it make you happy? Does it make you a better person? In regards to SS, the answer is no. When you look at Sakura's development over the course of the series, it's pretty apparent that her love for Sasuke did nothing but bring her sadness. Furthermore it appealed to her worst qualities, making her come off as childish, subservient and insecure.

 

What I'm trying to say is, had NS become canon, Naruto would have been Sakura's silver medal but only in terms of sucession. However when it comes to making her happy and a better a person, Naruto would have definitely been Sakura's gold medal.

 

In a way it's ironic with the way NH was handled in TL. Yes, Hinata got to be Naruto's "gold medal" and "first love" but it only ended up making him a worse person.

What l always found funny with the Goku/Chichi parallels from NH fans is that they don't realize what they're comparing their precious pairing to. The basis of Goku/Chichi is this: when they were 14, Goku patted Chichi on the crotch because he couldn't tell the difference between a girl and a boy just by looking at people so he had to touch to check if she had balls. So after getting patted on the crotch a blushing Chichi decided they should get married, Goku thought she was talking about food and accepted and 5 years later they got engaged. 

 

That's it. That's the pairing. IT'S A BLATANT JOKE. Toriyama was originally a gag mangaka and most people don't know his first big success before Dragonball was a gag manga called Dr Slump (highly recommended if you can find it, it's hilarious) and in Dr Slump Toriyama actually has the honesty to admit he hates romance but his editor forces him to write pairings. So out of spite he just treats them like a joke. 

 

Yet all these NH geniuses have argued this inspired Kishi t. What does it say about NH? And of course let's not mention the irony of them calling NS comic relief...

I'm losing faith in the human race all the time I really am.

Makes the rise of the machines, the zombie Apocalypse, the regular Apocalypse or the Cordyceps fungus from the last of us not look so bad now. Also who do you think Hinata, Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura will fight in death battle, I think Ichigo from Bleach for Naruto and Riku form Kingdom Hearts or Hiei form Yu Yu Hakusko for Sasuke. I hope Naruto, Hinata and Sasuke lose and Sakura wins who ever she will fight. I want those three to lose and Sakura to possibly win again depending on who she fights just to see Naruto and Hinata and Sasuke fans get pissed off especially the Hinata fans like those kittens Forneverworld, Double4Anime and Sawyermage7.
