As you can see I have a question about FF.net.. Does story alert mean that if you add it to your story alert,you get the latest automatic update of the story you're currently reading?

Pretty much yeah. If the author updates the story in anyway you get an update email.

Yeah, when the story is updated with a new chapter you'll automatically receive a notice of it. Sometimes if the author is really good and you enjoy his/her stories in the general sense I just put them on Author Alert.

Well, as far as I know I've never had a problem. I guess if it ever did fail to notify me of something I wouldn't really know, would I?
I set my own stories to my alert list so I can make sure the alert goes out when I post a new chapter.

I get all of my chapter/author/story/review alerts just fine
Maybe FFnet really does just ignore you

I have never had a problem with the story alert or any alert, really. If you have another email address, try changing it to that and see if you get your alerts there.
