I think out of all the new mangas that have come out like Love Rush, Promise Neverland, and Red Sprite. The one's that really got my attention is Sahara The Flower Samurai, a monthly series, that is being done by debut mangaka Yusaku Shibata, the editor or assistant of Oda the creator One Piece and Kohei Horikoshi the creator of My Hero Academia. Knowing the fact this guy had worked with these two amazing mangaka got me pretty curious as to how his first manga was gonna turn out. I will say two chapters into this series It's definitely fascinating l in terms of the world that's set up, and the characters are kinda interesting. I will say the two main characters, Sahara and Yae have defintely peaked my interest, and for the time being I'm curious to seeing where they go down the road.

It feels like a short series from the first two chapters, unless the third chapter will reveal something that will set the two on a new journey that will start them on a long adventure, but as it is right now, the MC seems OP already compared to everyone else we've et so far and he appears to hold the key to the world rebuilding itself.

 

You can see the influence of the Oda Sensie and Kohei Sensie, though I haven't read Academia, the look of the manga does appear similar to his first work. The MC sort of has sort of a Luffy vibe with his carefree attitude and above average strength. Also his allergies to plant life is almost as ironic as a pirate being allergic to water. The two leads have decent interaction, though it doesn't feel as natural as other similar combo's so far, feels a bit forced which I feel stems more from the male MC being a oddball character that hard to grasp,

 

As it is I can't see the manga lasting long, though that could change next chapter, however this could just be an experiment to get the mangaka experience in the industry while he comes up with ideas for his or hers real hit.

This definitely has a good potential with its universe. It may take a bit while to get to the actual meal but I think it will pay off greatly.

This might just be me, but I'm actually liking the direction of the story.. I can't quite remember if I've seen a series make me feel invested in the main characters within the first three chapters... I guess for now I'll say it's great, and it still has potential to be better. 

 

Can't wait to see what happens next month.

I read this about a week and a half, two weeks ago. Thought it was pretty good. Interested to see where it leads.

Wow I am left speechless at what i just read..   This shocking final chapter was perfect it's everything I wanted to see in a manga series from start to finish to have a great ending.  

 

 

In less than 4 chapters a story was told, and man it was executed brilliantly.  I will certainly say as far as ending goes yes it's a tad bit rushed, but I feel its right up there if not close to the ending quality that Assassination Classroom and Nisekoi had.   

 

 

Not sure if they made an official release here in the US, but I think it would be cool  cause it's only 1 volume long plain and simple instead of a Big 3 situation with 50+ volumes. 

 

 

What I also really liked was how integral Yae was in the story alongside Sahara. They are both loveable characters that I feel you can grow attach to in the short amount of chapters they are.    

 

 

You know as short as this series was, I will say it's worth reading, I mean sure it had the potential to be long series, but I feel like if it did then the quality may've dropped over time but then again he was Oda's assistant.    

 

 

 

One thing is for sure,  In 4 Chapters =  Sahara the Flower Samurai told a better story than Naruto,  and Naruto Gaiden. 

 

Yusaku Shibata I will easily say that this is personally one of my favorites, and I look forward to seeing what you've got next.

Well now that the series is done what is everyone's conscience on it?

 

 

Like I said, I personally think for how the story was told in only a span of 4 chapters, even with a few tiny details that could be expanded upon. It's got an interesting concept that is executed greatly,   and two main characters that I personally believe you'll grow to love up to the ending of this series.  

 

 

So overall I give Sahara The Flower Samurai, an Amazing which = a 6 of 7 for me.

Also, really? Amazing usually means near perfect or 4.5 out of 5. 3.25 sounds more like pretty good than amazing. What's 5 out of 5? Super Godly Awesomely Magnificently Gloriously Pure Perfection? Lol.

And 3.25 out of 5 is about the same thing, but at the same time if doesn't feel like amazing when you look at that way. Which is why I developed the 1 to 7 rating scale.

So 7 in this case would be Perfection.

There is an 8th but it's rare, Break the Scale. Lol.

As for the series, it was pretty solid. There were rushed moments but knowing the time he had, I don't blame him. Wished to explore more but for what it needed to accomplish, it was really good.

So I don't think it's just Sahara.

But it still told an amazing story in its short span.
