Hmm, I think Whedon is trying too hard for the "feminism aspect" of the movie. And I'm all for feminism for sure, but that kind of plot just looks awful and having a guy being a kitten to a woman to "empower" her is very old fashioned thinking :superior:

That's weird of you to say because the script(and JW) is very sexist+anti feminist, and it's not even subtle. The real script is written by a woman and feels a lot more empowering to me.

Saw it a couple of weeks ago. It was good, not necessarily great. I felt that people tried to hype it to be better than it was in large part to push a social agenda, rather than actually reflecting the accurate quality of the movie.

I'm stuck wondering when the next solo batman movie comes out lol

No, I actually thought it was great, objectively speaking. there is nothing hidden for me liking it to the extent I did I just do like it that much but of course not everyone feels the same

Well I know that JW is supposedly a feminist, not sure on how true that is or if everyone sees that. Anyway from what I saw of the script maybe the idea is for the sexism and anti-faminism to empower Wonderwoman, but as you say it's giving the opposite effect. I actually really liked the actual script too

Wasn't singling you out specifically, just thought it was a good not great movie. In general, the quality doesn't seem to match what the people on social media were trying to prop it up as.

It was good, just not the be all end all it was made out to be.

I thought so too and no one is paying me to say "I like the movie" ha ha. It has a different vibe than any other recent superhero movies or action/adventure movies with female leads. I'm not sure if gender plays role here (I'm a woman btw), but what I like the most is women in this movie are depicted as strong and elegant characters in the right amount. Not over-depicted and over exaggerated.

The women (or men) not objectified in any ways. Both plays equal part in the movie, just in a different ways. There wasn't any particular shot that promote their "assets"..I noticed this on my second viewing. The women are depicted as warriors, not as (God forbid) damsel-in-distress, or fashionistas trying to kick ass.

The costume/armor was functional --my friend sent me a twitter link which explains some design aspect of it, I think it explains why the costume was pleasant to see. The fight sequence was good. I'm not really into fighting and punching movies, but I thought seeing a women march into a battle field and get all the hits so that her team behind can advance was very entertaining.

You can tell that a movie was very good when you left the theaters, but keep thinking about it in the next one day or two.

Anyways, go and see it for yourself. Come with a low expectation and avoid to see any trailers.

"What? What are you saying?"

"It's okay, this is what I came here to do. I can save today, but you... you can save the world."
