i just wanna believe sawyers probably trolling or going with the popular opinion just to get more views to get more money of this youtube job. first vid i saw of him he was explaining both NS and NH not competitivly just trying to make the viewer understand each of them individually better. he said for NS "romance can blossom through time"

Question!

How did they forced the "NH childhood" thing in this movie again?

I mean the part where Naruto actually like Hinata since they were young but forgot or something.

How did they go on about it again?

I did watched or rather skim parts of the movie when it was fresh but my brain naturally deemed it as useless info and dispose of it.

Reason I'm asking is because a friend came back during the holidays and will be staying for 3 months and we ended talking about our old habits and Naruto ends up to be one of them so she was shocked when i told her how it ended..

actually she was more shocked at how i hated it because she knows i'm a big SS/NH fan but that was like 2007 or so since we last met lol.

I don't want to go through hell and watch the movie again or even dare google anything about Naruto as i'm allergic to the thousands of so-called fans who had lost all reasons.

She isn't much of a pairing fan just a naruto fan in general who wants to see the 'ol lil Naruto happy. So she was confuse on that childhood part but i told her to just watch it herself but refuses to so because it looks "too foreign" to quote her exactly.

They did it when Naruto helped Hinata from bullies (something else shoe-horned in from Sakura's backstory... >_>;;; But anyhow...), which is what the forced childhood thing was about.

Thanks Bryon_Konoha_Ninja

so he helped her from bullies and then? Hinata fell in love or both of them?

if it was so important then how did he forget about it? a forced amnesia? genjutsu? this is a serious question btw. I'm cutting out my opinions of it and just basing things solely on what was presented.

The thinking behind the entire movie… It’s a MANTRA to repeat over and over! :superior:

Hinata MUST always be FIRST in the Last movie because it ‘s HER movie!

  • Hinata is the FIRST woman.
  • Hinata is the FIRST beauty.
  • Hinata is the FIRST princess.
  • Hinata is the FIRST goddess.
  • Hinata is the FIRST hero.
  • Hinata is Naruto’s FIRST friend.
  • Hinata is Naruto’s FIRST fan.
  • Hinata is Naruto’s FIRST LOVE!
  • Hinata is Naruto’s FIRST lady!
  • HINATA IS THE FIRST!

PERIOD! :monocle:

But if anyone here who can tell me the detail of what happened as to how it was presented in the movie without opinion just pure summary...as HARD as it may be as we all know the logic in this movie is completely incomprehensible to any thinking human being.

I wanted to give my friend a good unadulterated summary of it, sans my opinion. as i don't want to rob her off of her enjoyment of the series just because i didn't like it personally.

Also i do know there are plenty of "summary" floating on the web but they are either too general or full of opinions and inserts so i thought i could get a better one here. Anyway she was for some reason only interested in the "childhood" part as that seems to be one of the most "bizarre" thing for her.

I don't want to simply tell her that "YEAH nothing in that movie makes sense and nothing actually connects to the actual story of the manga. its a fanfiction brought to life" as much as i wanted to. because i wanted her to have her own opinion of it. I'm pushing her to watch it but then again she said she feels the need to read the latter half of the manga as she stopped somewhere pre-war.

Altho half of me just wanted to stop her and make her watch other things MORE worthy of her time. but couldn't blame her for being confuse and hang up over in puzzlement.. Hey, afterall we've all been there. lol

Never watched TL. But others said. Naruto and Hinata were trapped in a genjutsy. When the scarf magically started moving and connected the two of them. Naruto then saw all the times Hinata was their for him (before the third, Iruka, team 7 etc etc). Sakura appeared as manifestation of a genyutsy, and guilt tripped Naruto for treating Hinata like that. Naruto then saw memory when he saved Hinata when they were really young (before 1st chapter of manga). When he saved her from bullies with the use of shadow clones. But in the process his scarf got ruined.

So Hinata spends all time in TL making a new scarf for Naruto. But get's jealous when she sees Naruto wearing a scarf Kushina made him. In the end Naruto throws away the scarf Kushina made for him, and takes Hinata's.

Also when Hinata confessed to Naruto in manga. Naruto thought that her love for him, is the same as his love for ramen. Naruto and Sakura also agreed that his love for her (Sakura) was not real, and was in fact a product due to his rivalry with Sasuke.

And that's like 0.1% of stupidity of this movie!

A lot of youtubers during the pain arc era was fine with NS, I believe including Sawyer. But they carried a soft spot for NH. The problem was that Kishi made Sakura unbearable to support being with Naruto when she is still in love with Sasuke. The anime did not help much with Sakuras overall character as well. A lot of people also look at the anime as canon. Sakura was depicted as a shallow kitten in Part 1 that became more caring after Part 2, but the anime didn't give justice of her changing character. I like RtN, but at the beginning I just saw another part 1 Sakura but a tad bit worse. In the end it was all good, but for me the question is why turn her back into her part 1 character? She can still have a better understanding of Naruto without having to regress just for plot! Anyway Kishi didn't help any better either.

Anyway, you have Sakura being all over the place as a heroine from the anime and author, than you have her undying love for Sasuke, and then the worst of her character was smashed into our faces; the five kage arc. Everyone who was ever neutral to her character started to see her in a different light. I didn't like her confession to Naruto, Kishi made it ambiguous to where if NS was canon, the confession would be genuine and raw. But with Hinata in the picture after her sacrificing love confession, she looked shallow and fickle, and her confession looks worse when NH was canon, like she really did manipulate Naruto's feelings. And when she couldn't even stab Sasuke because she still loves him, and her drugging her teammates to chase after him alone...it was cringeworthy to see that in a heroine. I never minded SS, but her character was all over the place when it comes to boys. And it makes it look even worse when you compare her to Hinata, who cared about Naruto for the right reasons until she became obsessed in part 2. But she still have highlighted moments to should have been NS instead of NH. 615, for example. It didn't need to be an NS moment, but it gave light into Hinata love and support for Naruto, and it didn't help in 540 where Sakura still had feelings for Sasuke. Sakura had no huge impact in moments of Narutos vulnerability and self doubt. I don't like NS to have moment like NH, but there could have been another moment like Part 2 scenes with NS and Yamato/ Itachi. Whe had the CPR moment, which was good, but 693 destroyed any significance of it.

Imo, I believe Sawyer would have been fine with NS, but the treatment of Sakura character had fall deep into the point where it's really hard to support NS/ Sakuras character. NS could have blossomed, but not when we still don't have a reason for Sakura undying love for Sasuke, why Sakura couldn't have any significant moment in the manga besides Sasori, which even than was a cheap victory, and the same moment she unlocked her seal, she had to be rescued. Why we had to kno about their parents in a filler movie, have no backstory (it doesn't need to be tragic) and what was her nindo? We have a backstory with Hinata, moments where she shined more than Sakura, and even her own nindo (same as Naruto's I believe). The point is that she's a secondary character who deserves the same amount of time as shikamaru. But she didn't, which was why people began to show more sympathy and support for Hinata even though in Part two she became Naruto obsessed.

Sorry  for ranting it's just disappointing. I watch a lot of Sakura rants on YT, to understand why she is so hated. And a major point out of all of them is how She get secondary character treatment as a heroine of the manga. As well as her overall personally depicted in anime.

Sakura's behaviour and feelings are all over the place because they are NOT the result of a character 'development' or of a 'literary plan'.

They are the result of a marketing plan.

Copy and paste my quote from another thread

Judging from the latest interviews and news I think it happened this way (pretty much):

  • Kishi wants to leave Naruto.
  • SJ doesn’t want let him (too much money lost) but instead plans for a next series (Boruto).
  • The Kishi’s assistant (Hinata’s fanatic – Sakura’s hater) comes forward and takes over on condition that Naruto’s love, in the end, is Hinata *COUGHbeggarCOUGH*.
  • SJ keeps Kishi as counselor (with associated service charges).
  • Kishi says YES and sells Naruto.
  • We (fandom, literary logic, story, characters) are screwed.
  • The end.

I thought movie 7 (Shippuden movie 4) was up there as well, because I remember once the action starts, it never stopped, making it feel like it's a short movie, when in fact lasted normal length, at least to my knowledge. I don't remember much about movie 2 but movie 3, I remember first 30 minutes took long to get it start. Oddly enough, it was the most "deaths" out of them all. For a childish movie, it sure has a lot of deaths.

Yeah, I just mentioned it. I ship SS since part 1, because imho, I sense that Sasuke does have some feelings for Sakura. I wasn't a Sakura supporter though, because my OTP was SNS. I knew they weren't going to be canon, but I was wishy washy with Sakura. I never minded her crush on Sasuke but I dislike her character overall. But this is perhaps my bias speaking because I supported SNS/ Sasuke and Naruto. Anyway for me I was aware with SS in part 1.

Part 2, I was aware of NS/NH. The first half was NS than NH, the problem was the lack of development. For SS I saw negative. I just really wanted a reason for Sakura's love. I know in Japan, enduring love is admirable, which is why SS is popular. But Kishi should have been a least aware of his western fanbase, were we can't really see it.

I always thought Kakashi had a decent amount of character treatment.

Hinata was irrelevant, but her fans made sure she became relevant. They are that large.

Ok so here's what happened. Hinata is being bullied about her eyes by some kids and she starts to cry. Naruto tries to help her with his speech about who he is and that he'll be Hokage. He summons some shadow clones to help him but they are tiny, like super tiny, and he's popped in the nose and knocked out instead. While he's lying on the floor unconscious they step on his scarf and mess it up.

Once he wakes up they are gone and Hinata is holding what's left of his scarf. She shows it to him and says she's sorry, but Naruto is ok with what happened and he tells her she can have it. Naruto starts to leave but Hinata stops him and says thank you. He grins and runs off.

In the next scene they are in class. Iruka gives them an assignment, which is for them to write down the name of who they'd want to spend the day with if it was their last day on Earth. Naruto acts tough, Sakura swoons over Sasuke, and Hinata thinks as she looks at her piece of paper. Then a paper air plane passes by her and out the window. Iruka scolds Naruto, and in turn Naruto tells him he has no family or friends, and that the world is going to end tomorrow. This is when Hinata decides to write Naruto's name on her paper, and that's it.

Those two scenes are the ones that are supposed to be the source for Hinata's feelings towards Naruto, but when you look at it she writes his name down out of pity. Which comes full circle since Naruto loves her back out of pity as well. A perfect relationship based on lies and feeling sorry for one another 😍

I understand this. But Kishi doesn't know how handle his female characters.

Moreover, Sakura in part 1 was a silly 12 years old. She had ample room for growth and change and this made her a interesting character .

In short, to me, she was tolerable because she was not the typical sweet (or tsundere) good girl in love with the protagonist.

It was so refreshing... What a shame it hasn't turned up anything.
