Well, it was an alright chapter. The hand-to-hand fighting was certainly more interesting than the long range jutsu fighting. I'm not convinced that Sakura's going to interfere and stop Sasuke's final blow, for one Kishi seems to have made it pretty clear (to me, at least) that Sakura has no place or role in this fight, and I don't see how she could make it in time anyway. Unless I'm missing something?  But I guess anything is possible. I really don't want to see her playing Sasuke's punching bag again though.

So I had a thought about today's chapter because it showed Sakura when she was a little girl she was stunned by how Sasuke was going to punch Naruto and then after the next page showed how Sasuke was going to do the finishing blow on Naruto and Sakura had that same shocked face as when she was little.

Let's all chill a bit, alright. Sakura saying Sasuke's name first isn't the end of the world. It probably came to her mind first since he was the last thing she saw before he knocked her out. And the "kun" thing is probably just a form of habit.

 

As for the rest of the chapter, it actually wasn't that bad. This is actually what I've been wanting from Naruto for a long time, back to the basics. Fighting with taijutsu, using tricks up the sleeve, like the shuriken. It was actually a fairly entertaining fight.

setting things up for Sakura to intervene and save Naruto. I mean come on. Sakura wakes up right before Naruto is dealt a deathblow?


In any case now we know the answer to the big question. Sasuke is still stronger than Naruto. Naruto's edge comes in the form of his allies.


Those of you hoping for a grand punch from Sakura to Sasuke will be rewarded next chapter.

I disagree about Sasuke being stronger though.  He stole the chakra that made that last chidori, and that was due to the Rinnegan.  It's not really him that's strong, but his bloodline.

Plot twist, Saskue has been fighting a clone the whole time and the real Naruto has been relaxing enjoying the fight.

Tsunade's arms become engulfed in flames and badly scorched after parrying two of Madara's katons, yet she's fine and dandy afterward despite her regenerative technique canceling right at the moment that she's suffering damage. Fast forward to Sasuke aiming Amaterasu onto Naruto's arm, and now he's unable to heal from the minimal amount of damage that he visibly suffered using the same chakra that once regenerated a hole in his chest.

This is probably just another inconsistency between feats on Kishi's part.

 

Tsunade regenerated the damage right before her chakra ran out. She regnerates that quickly.

I wouldn't put it past Kishi...After all Sakura thinks saving Sasuke from the darkness as her ''duty''.

I'm more curious of why did Sakura had that exact flashback what does it mean exactly ? What effect did that genjutsu had on her ? For now it seems like it didn't had any impact or major effect  of realizing her feelings or something like that  this ending is confusing even if it does end like the OVA  .

 

On the other hand Kurama just stated the obvious that Naruto (unlike Sasuke) has been fighting this entire war and bc of that his chakra was depleted even before they started this was obvious , and Sasuke even with all the asspulls powerups  still can't beat Naruto fair and was kittening all the time for Naruto to give up bc the pressure is to much for Sasuke while Naruto just keeps coming for him like its nothing  so how is Sasuke the winner or stronger then Naruto again ?

There's relevance there no doubt.  Kishimoto is showing Sakura in the flashback for a reason.  I believe there's more to what happen during the flashback that he now plans to show us.

Okay, so we got so many speculations on what may happen-- on 698. 

 

• The one Sasuke will stab turns out to be a bunshin + surprise attack from Naruto 
• Sakura Intervening. (either violently or, pleadingly hugs sasuke, covers up naruto, whatever method)
• Naruto receives the Chidori, loses consciousness Sakura springs into action and heals him.
• Some unknown Sasuke troll moment-- 
• The ever effective talk no jutsu takes into place again.
