I wonder how big Sakura fans are taking this.. you know, the way she is being tossed around as useless girl who can't pick the right guy (naruto). Sakura is my 2nd favorite Character because 1/3 the reason i watch Naruto is for NaruSaku!

I don't know exactly where I heard it from, I heard it somewhere, maybe around Tumblr, Youtube, a random comment that I seen that just embedded its self in my mind. I'm not really sure to be honest. All I know is I seen it somewhere. Hell, it could of been here.

XD I know but if Kishi did say it, (which we really have no proof of at the moment,) I think it's a pretty good hint Plus with Irukas all heaven and earth, thing.

did Kishi really say that Sakura and Naruto were the first characters he created? I thought it was only Naruto >__<

I can't remember where I heard it, but I heard that Kishi created Sakura and Naruto first, and then the plot was going nowhere, so he added Sasuke as a rival in the picture. I was thinking, what if he had everything planned out then - and needed Sasuke for the plot development for both, to make it interesting, and to spice up Sakura's love interests. Maybe he already had Naruto/Sakura paired off in the end, but needed Sasuke to make it a bit more interesting on the back burner.

Again i would of posted this on the debate thread but i didn't want to double post.

Sorry, but this rumor is wrong. Kishi created Naruto and Kakashi first. The editors wanted more characters so he made Sasuke and Sakura after that.

Also, you could edit your post in the debate thread and add your questions rather than creating new threads :3

Kakashi being a first, wow! Thats pretty wierd... why would he think of mask guy first... O_o

I know what you are referring to but I understood it as Sakura being the afterthought, not Sasuke. Kakashi may have been conceived early too but that is also misguided. Naruto and Sasuke were the original two characters the series was based off of. Sakura of course has proved a crucial character, and that is why she was probably added at the editor's suggestion. But the fact is there is no story to tell without Sasuke. The addition of Sakura was for Dynamic's sake. Although this is no reason to not take NaruSaku seriously.

Although plausible, remember kishi adding an additional character like described could still simply be fan speculation.

Well.. Sasuke isn't all the background, Madara is a big background character.. he is the reason Naruto's parents died.. thus causing Naruto to basically be what he is today instead of somebody else...

I don't know much about the origins of the characters, but apparently one of the data/fan-books states that Sakura was actually an original creation by Kishimoto that he created after Naruto and Kakashi, as he personally decided he needed a heroine. Sasuke, from what I gather, was a suggestion from Kishi's editor to give the manga a typical shounen rival character.

I'm not too sure on that though. I'd recommend reading this thread. The thread's been closed, but there's some interesting stuff there regarding character origins. In any case, I don't really think it has to mean anything pairing-related, since Sakura's creation as a love interest could be taken for either Naruto or Sasuke. I don't think it's the latter, based on the course the manga's taken, but it does work as a counter-point.
