So Boruto is killed? I saw this information but I was just like eh, he'll probably get revived by some miracle jutsu or whatever....

Again, don't follow anything about Boruto but I presume that this Nail character killed Boruto recently?

As for Hinata involvement, if she somehow heard about the news, I guess I understand being upset but still, popping out of no where because banana? I never was a fan of Ikemoto but wow, what the kittening kittens is this?  :err:

Like you said, it really does feels that Ikemoto is being pushed to put Hinata more, regardless if it makes sense or not (which usually almost never make sense with Boruto, with what I see)

Yep. He was killed and almost instantly brought back due to the karma seal, which resolved it before it could transform him into the foe who infected him with it. Think Cyberpunk 2077, or Batman Arkham Knight. He was dead long enough for Shikamaru to question if Naruto was going to forgive Nail for killing him, and Naruto telling him to shut up. Beginning of last year I think. Trust me this story is so slow. Stuff that happened 6 years ago is recent. The last two chapters, which have come out since both the two side manga and poll. Have had more going on and plot progression. Than the manga has had in 6 years.

I will see it at least but again. I see no reason for her to pop in right now story wise. This is involving her for the sake of involving her.

Well, normally I don't comment on spoilers before I do the summaries. But I'll make an exception here. There is no reason for Hinata sudden involvement in the story.

The cast is in a isolated villa so Hime can't use her charm power to control random villagers. It is far too early for them to be going to the village yet, even if they rush it. Which means Hinata must have went there. So she probably learned about how Nail killed Bolt. It is understandable she is upset. However, the thing is Naruto and I think Bolt already forgave him for it. So Hinata as the most devoted of Naruto's followers should follow his example. Anyways, Naruto already decided to suppress this info.

This feels like Ikemoto has been informed that Boruto is on notice. Since, both the side manga are doing better than his manga and Sakura is beating Hinata in the global poll; whose popularity is the foundation of Boruto. So he is getting desperate.

#988392 Naruto: Sasuke's Story-The Uchiha and the Heavenly Stardust: Chapter 6

Posted by Bail o' Lies on 17 January 2023 - 08:33 AM

Seems that without Naruto around, Sakura is utterly devoid of having an actual personality. Might as well be a random villager who happens to be a Sasuke fangirl. SS is so unbelievably boring. :sleepy:

Compare the middle image in the first picture with the right image in the second picture and ask yourself which would make a more interesting story:

1476126_737048496323848_1136045879_n.jpg

1464616_737045672990797_1839389955_n.jpg

Oh hey that's the online comic I mentioned once a few years ago. Where its trying to show how perfect Hinata was and how awful NS was. But I said it also showed Hinata has no standards and therefore Naruto wouldn't put any effort into improving himself. Seem there was more of it then I knew.

The chapter pretty much pauses the story to have them go on about how much they love each other in other couples this would be eye rollingly corny but this couple it just makes you think about all the problems they have.

The Sasuke catching Sakura bit is clearly a call back to when he did that during the Kaguya fight. Which goes to show that his fans think very little of him. As they apparently believe that if Sasuke didn't love her he would just let her fall to the ground, while I think Sasuke isn't that big of a jack ass.

The Sasuke noticing small changes bit after he spent 12 years going all out to avoid them.

Sasuke has complete faith that Sakura would never cheat on him, which means he barely has to put any effort in keeping her and even treats her horribly to the point of abuse because she will always be faithful no matter what or how little he does.

Sakura knows Sasuke completely but she still believes he is the one that complimented her forehead the day they formed team 7.

The knowledge people should have from reading Naruto-Boruto undermines these moments and any others they could have.

#988384 Naruto: Sasuke's Story-The Uchiha and the Heavenly Stardust: Chapter 6

Posted by Bail o' Lies on 16 January 2023 - 05:58 PM

Apparently, this weeks chapter is part two of the last chapter instead of chapter 7. This is the chapter where they get really mushy.

Summary Time: Chapter 6 Part 2.

Cover page is Sasuke and Sakura.

Sasuke tells Sakura to follow him...oh right they are sneaking to the lake. Why there going there Sakura trips but is prevented from falling to the ground by Sasuke. She goes teehee she is a klutz, blushes, and Sasuke sighs. Sakura comments the lake is beautiful Sasuke says, he wishes they could have brought Salad, to a lake by a prison. Sasuke ask if Sakura would want a real ring instead of one he had made in a few seconds, was this in the light novel? 'Cause this feels like someone commented on the ring bit like I did and this is a cover. Instead of fixing the story. She ponders if a real ring would be better, since would it work with her medical procedures. Sasuke smiles and says, "he never worried about her straying from him," again my comment on that ring lands, he doesn't have to work hard or put effort because she will never stray. This might be sweet with other couples but I know their relationship and so do all of you. Apparently, he been coming to the village more frequently, after outright avoiding them for 12 years, and each time he notices the small changes in Sakura and Salad. Sasuke apparently is getting wrinkles now but only when he smiles, handsomely, and Sasuke notes Sakura does not have any wrinkles but he says it fine if she gets some. They end with holding hands while staring at the lake full of stars.

Finally, back to the plot. Sakura pulls out those star cards. On the back of the cards there is a lizard. Sakura points out that it is a dragon/dinosaur and a meteor. Yes, again dinosaur and dragons uses the same kanji. Sasuke puts it all together, but its too late as Sakura was doing the hand seals to reveal the meteor. A big flash of light happens and then a container is in Sakura's hands. And Zansul sends out his dinosaurs which he apparently revive with edo-tensei. Were they not planning on dealing with him and just leaving like thieves in the night? He was clearly up to something dangerous and important.

5/10. Most of the chapter was for a random SS bonding moment. Also, part of the couple moment felt like it was addressing the ring thing.

Hinata is already a lost Battle.

If they keep voting in Hinata only will help Sakura to got #1.

Now Hardcore Hinata stans simply will vote in Minato or Itachi simply to don't let Sakura  win.

Again, if this was some sort of check. Sakura has already won. She is higher than both Hinata and her teammates. When she was stripped of her position of heroine because people spent 6 years telling kishimoto; she was too hated to be the heroine. Now, 8 years later she is: the third most popular Naruto character, the most popular of the female Naruto characters, and the most popular main character in Naruto in the world.

That is what the executives are going to see if they look at the results right now. That is damaging to Boruto because it is built on Hinata being more popular globally than Sakura, to the point she must become the heroine.  As well as, she is so popular, her son would be an instant success as a sequel's main character.

From what i see SasuSaku fandom are massively voting in Sakura and ignoring Sasuke, plus even  others females fandoms are now suporting Sakura because she is the only female with real chances to get #1. (Minus Hinata stans).

It's really impressive she jumped to #9 to #3 surpassing Sasuke, Naruto, Kakashi, Madara, Jiraiya.

(WTF Shisui is doing in top 10?)

This came at a cost: having to focus on her only cost the other side of the  pairing can eve get out of the top 10.

From the side of ss fans, you can call them just sakura fans, sasuke fans or  even fans of both. They are just supporting sakura more now because of the side manga. If we base it on this statement from them: sasuke has been the focus of the franchise + got 3 novels + side manga + 2 novels  adapted in anime probably this can explain why Naruto is in #6 too. Neither Sasuke/Naruto needs this mini manga.

PS: Hinata isn't as popular like Pierrot made Kishimoto think.

Thanks for the info.

The only people who like Hinata at this point are Hinata fans. And the passed 8 years has made everyone else sick of her. No one wants her fans giving her any special position. They don't want her to get a title like Most Popular Female Naruto Character Around the World.

Shisui is the 'good uchiha,' the fans base as always like and obsessed over the 'good uchiha.' They are interested in a nice uchiha, since all the ones we meet in story are cold jackasses. Originally, it was Obito, but then he turned evil. So, when it was revealed the Shisui was the one uchiha that thought their coup would end in disaster and tried to stop it peacefully; he became beloved by the fanbase.

The important thing is the executives are going to see Sakura as the most popular main character years after she was removed as the heroine for the supposedly more popular Hinata.

Seems all of the Sakura hate of the past was simply because she was perceived as "threat" to a rival pairing. Pathetic.

Somewhat. It didn't help that kishimoto wasn't doing much with her.

#47 Kakuzu

#48 Ino

#49 Indra Otsutsuki

#50 Yamato

Well, its good all of the main cast in top ten. Glad Minato won, since he was always in the lead, and Sakura was the most popular Main character. Hinata got 12th place. Neji was 18. Wasn't suppose to be so hated that they just had to kill him so Hinata could end up with Naruto?

Some of these would overlap. For example Obito and Tobi were treated as different characters. The uchiha manga would probably focus on explaining the massacre.

Yeah Asuma was more renowned for his fighting stylw with his trench knives and using wind chakra to sharpen them further. Surprised they didn't go with that. dyon't care too much about Kiba's lovers squabble. overall it was boring but I'll give it points to referecing Asuma and showing Kurenai's specialty in Genjutsu which wasn't done much justice in the series proper.

The one good point is so far that it has done more with genjutsu in 6 chapter than kishimoto could do with 600. He pretty much abandon it very quickly and eventually just used it only for exposition.

The whole ring thing is cringe

The concept is nice and easy for the intended audience to understand. Japan didn't originally use rings to symbolize marriage, they only started doing that after westernizing. So, it both shows the ninja world is modernizing while showing Sasuke cares about Sakura.

Its annoying that it is so focus on, but understandable. But its ruined to me that the ring was just something Sasuke made on a whim, and he did it partially to mark her, so the prisoners would stop hitting on her due to the Guy Code. Its a rock ring with a shiny rock he made from jutsu in a few seconds. The only value is that he made it on his own for her. Beyond that its worthless. Part of the purpose of the ring is to show off the value the husbands puts into his wife and marriage. Care and Cost are both important. If a man just buys a random expensive ring without thinking about his wife. It shows, that he thinks she is 'valuable,' but doesn't care about her as a person. Here, it shows Sasuke 'cares' about her but she isn't worth much. Which makes sense because he got her so easy in the first place, never had to do anything for her.

By the way, long time no see :D , i'm still come here just look at post maybe 3 times this year. Since i think we can all agree that Boruto is real and canon now and any little bits of chance that this entire spawning pool of crap is fake or Mugen Tsukuyomi at this point is just in denial.

Found this shiet when i'm scrolling down tik-tok :

https://www.youtube....rts/cAs24oVAqa4

I was just wake up today .... still sleepy don't want to get out of bed since it's holiday and the last day in 2022. And when i saw that video ... my sleepiness instantly disappear, my eyes wide open, and i get up and was like : HOLLY CRAP ARE THEY REALLY DOING THIS??? RIGHT NOW??. And then i scroll the comment section on that video and look at the captions and re-watching it ... analyzing it and yes i'm sure 95% it was just a fan made. But i have to admit this feeling that i thought was dead that i bury and i'm sure i'm over it long ago since the devastation Kishi drop on 2014 turn out still there ... i'm still deep down wants all of this is just a nightmare or disgusting joke.

I don't know if that video was new .... or maybe a years old video that i happen to see it now. Anyway, as soon as i'm done watching it, i come here and (Expect an uproar / hot discussion and obviously not  ) just want to say this. What do you guys think??

The companies were either going to abandoned Boruto immediately or they weren't. After a year passed, the hope for them to walk back on it was unlikely to the point it was almost impossible. As it means too many executives would have egg on their face for them supporting it in the first place.

However, that could change now for the same corporate reasons. Boruto has been given eight years to stand on its own to be a money maker for them; it hasn't. So they are doing these side manga as well as a popularity poll to decide another side manga to figure out, what is popular in Naruto-Boruto. Sending them a passionate well reason (not unhinged) letter for why they should change back to NS may work, at least better than it would have anytime before now. As they can say, the change is to please the fans.

...Also you couldn't tell immediately that video was fanmade? Naruto has never had his father's hairstyle for one, and also this is just after his final fight with Sasuke; he should only have one arm. I can't get through more then 5 seconds because the animation and song are so off-putting.

The Irony that was. They sold out to a bunch of internet pirates :lmao: They thought Hinata was their ticket to big bucks in the West. My guess personally though, was they thought Selling Hinata to them would actually want to make them buy the products. They were wrong on both accounts. Go figure.

This. I don't dislike Boruto nor do I not give it a chance because there is no focus on the characters I like anymore. I don't give it the time of day because 1. I've moved on from Naruto and 2. it sounds like a boring, unengaging snore fest from your summaries. I'm not wasting my time on it if there is no passion or heart put into the work. Same with the Sasuke novel and Same with the Gaiden right now with Mirai Kakashi and Guy. They have original charcters that (former fans) are familiar with and love but they don't be seem to be doing so hot from what I can tell. Why? because none of the writing is engaging. It is coasting off of Naruto's former popularity and nostalgia for such characters and the authorities are HOPING it sells. They are not trying to make good stories out of these novels.

They didn't think, 'they would start buying the products.' They thought, 'they were already buying them.'

Phantom, we count as, "the acceptable lost." They figured they would lose the NS fans if they abandon it...they just didn't imagine how badly it would cost them. Apparently, being the primary financial support of Naruto and such. So, for the most part Boruto isn't made for us. As doing so, may chase away the customers they have left. I'm talking about the casual fans/viewers.

For one thing people don't really read for fun now a days, they prefer just to watch something. Since, they feel they have to focus to read something. While compared to being able to do other things while passively watching. For some it is a better use of their time. Which is why a major change to anime since streaming took off has been to cut down on the filler. As even if its good, most people don't want to waste their time on something that isn't important to the story, or even completely non-canonical.

Naruto already scares away casual fans because of its infamous amounts of filler. Then, you have Boruto which again, I think Kawaki appears at around episode 175, and then they are back to filler by about 200. So the manga's story was covered in about 25 episodes. I think they are getting close to 300 episodes. Which means they have probably over 250 episode that most viewers will consider filler, counting the Salad gaiden and the movie episodes as canon episodes. That is instantly going to turn people off watching it, if they aren't already invested. Then, you have the actual story. Let's be blunt, even fans of the franchise are bored of it, begging for it to finally get going. So, you have the filler putting viewers off, but also unenthused fans not promoting it to the people around them. Of course its failing. Not because its not Naruto, but because its bad.

Now we have some side manga that are being hyped up because its not Boruto, there isn't any filler, and its better than Boruto has ever been...that pathetically low bar.

#988237 Naruto: Konoha's Story-The Steam Ninja Scrolls: The Manga Chapter 5

Posted by Bail o' Lies on 25 December 2022 - 10:52 PM

The thing is that this is the first change I have found that can be attributed to Naruto or his generation. One) its by Kiba the ignored rival of Naruto, and two) its just better dog food.

Scene Naruto and his friends in a circle

Naruto: We need to reform the ninja system so the tragedies of the past do not happen again.

Me: How are any of you going to do that?

The entire cast sits around stumped until Kiba goes: I know better dog food!

They all applaud as they have nothing else.

Naruto has barely been hokage for 5 years at best has done kitten all.

Sakura opened up a hospital for sick children...no wait they keep forgetting about it. So nothing.

Sasuke just wanders around being Naruto's Danzo.

Sai runs the ANBU.

Shikamaru the one who really runs the village but still does nothing.

Chouji, no clue.

Ino runs the sensory department all she seems to be is a psychic hotline for the cast to use.

Tenten runs a useless weapon shop

Lee had a son.

Hinata raise two spoiled brats did nothing about the hyuuga clan caste system.

Shina became a teacher whose students don't respect.

Kiba better dog food.

This is all I have seen them achieve.

Is it just me or does ns and Sakura seem a bit more popular than I expected I see more merch for sale but now sp is stuck with the ships the manga went with (and apparently endless boruto spinoff)

NS and Sakura were/are popular in Japan. So they have always made merch for it, as it still sells. They went with nH because that's what they thought was popular in the West. If you are in the West, you should know, Hinata has a very vocal fanbase, while Sakura or at least the ones that wanted her with Naruto weren't as vocal. However, Hinata fans don't buy merch that often. So there isn't much because there is no point.

#988220 The Great Naruto Discussion Thread

Posted by Bail o' Lies on 22 December 2022 - 07:18 PM

If they aren't complete amateur and idiots. They probably already know whats makes Naruto Series famous (Sadly isn't NaruSaku):

Old Generation, Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, Uchihas, Sharingan, Team 7, Some shipping tease, Akatsuki, Original and actual Ninja lore...

People wanted more of the Naruto cast, not their kids. It was sad to see so much hype dying out, but it was bound to happen because Boruto the movie was popular because of Naruto and Sasuke, not because of Boruto himself. Gaiden's focus was also Sasuke,Sakura and Naruto not just Sarada.
Naruto ends, and then they immediately show a fanbase that's attached to the old cast a bunch of copies that's meant to be their parents replacements with some alliens and androids. The kids, at least Sarada and Boruto were ok. But Cho Cho, Inojin, Shikadai, Kawaki as Sasuke 2.0 and some random kids are simply trash.  Nobody wanted to see them doing random things outside their parents. Like who tought this was a good idea?

Boruto's cast should have a secondary role in the series like Goten/Trunks in Dragon Ball Super.

Not become the Protagonists of the actual series...

You can't expect to make a 180º turn in a Story  and repeat the sucess.

If they know what made Naruto popular, why are they doing the Mirai manga which you consider pointless and a waste of time? So, they know what they are doing, but they are wasting money on something completely pointless, why?

Here is my stance on Japanese companies, granted more about their gaming companies: "From what I've seen, Japan has always had problems understanding the Western market. When they try to make something appeal to the West they try to make it as "American" as they can, when something does succeeded whether it was intended to or not they don't really understand how/why it was successful, once something is successful they expect it to be constantly successful, milking it with constant sequels, if one of those sequel doesn't meet their expectation they cancel it forever, and often they would hand over IP to their Western branches expecting that they will know what to do with it; often those flop."

So, as it pertains to Naruto. They didn't know what made Naruto so popular in the West or why it stopped being popular. (On Toonami a prime time program with no real competition, and Toonami ending.) So, they went with what was said online and constant fan letters of fans of hating Sakura and loving Hinata wanting her to be with Naruto. Are you going to deny that backfired? So, they sat on Naruto for some reason for years, but are now wanting to get that money again. My guess they got sick of Boruto failing and some of the popular IPs like MHA are ending; so they want that money again. But they don't know what made Naruto popular. So they are putting out feelers like the SS manga, the Mirai manga, and this poll to check. So they can hopefully finally get an idea of at least, what character is popular?

Here is the thing about Boruto. Since I have to vent every once and a while about how stupid it is. The people in my life know I still read Boruto. So every once and a while they will talk about, why they stop reading/watching Boruto. To sum up, the ones who watch/read it they gave it a chance at the start, but nothing happens. So, they got bored and stopped. Others are reluctant to even look at it because they hear that it has Naruto's filler problem in overdrive. Remember Nail (the true main character in Ikemoto's mind) doesn't show up until...was it about episode 100 or 200 of the anime? So no, people did not unanimously around the world declare that they refused to read Boruto because it wasn't focused on the Naruto cast, they aren't reading it because its S H I T.

Also the current Dragon Ball Super Arc is going to be focused on Trunks and Goten because of the success of The Super Heroes Movie. Which showed them characters other than Goku and Vegeta are popular and can stand on their own.

By the way since you don't come here often. I use Italic and Bold and such to emphasize what I'm saying and the important points of the post...unless it the summaries then it is venting my annoyance, pointing out flaws I see in the story, and thoughts I have when reading it. I'm not annoyed or angry at you.
