I RSVP'd to a 'Maybe Attending' on post-Rapture looting. My RSVP message:

Might be able to squeeze in after things I need to do before the Rapture ends. I might rapture some gifts, maybe rapture up some unfinished business; hell, I might even write a rapture song that can make ever rapturer out there look like a raptured-up prissy.

EDIT: Haha, Shauna. XD Well, if this thing is going to happen, I guess we'd better hope that Kishimoto finishes the rest of Naruto in triple-quick time. tongue.gif

Yup, that's history repeating itself again, i thought we would have learned from the first time some nutty nuterson predicted it, also the rapture...sounds like BS to me, i read what it says...Oh all true believers will go to heaven, and everyone else will stay on Earth to do what? Make it a better place?

American Dad has already made that clear, we'll stay on Earth battling demons for at least 7 long years.

A bevy of entrepreuners hope to capitalize on believers' fear. A website called "Eternal Earth-Bound Pets" is offering to care for believers' furry friends after their masters have been Raptured and can no longer care for them--for a fee, of course. (The site, which claims to be the brainchild of a group of pet-loving atheists, claims it's not a joke, but we're not so sure.) There's also You've Been Left Behind, a kind of high-tech concierge service for the chosen, which will send their digital records to un-Raptured friends or loved ones for the low, low price of $14.95. NPR has rounded up an array of jokes the prediction has sparked on Twitter and other social media sites.

Of course, the joke will be on all of the Rapture-obsessed pranksters if the Apocalypse happens this Saturday. But Pastor Joseph Fuiten of Bothell, Wash., told the Seattle Times that he puts no stock in the prophesying of Camping and his followers. "Unfortunately they have overlooked the obvious words of Jesus: 'You do not know the day or the hour' of such events," he said.

I don't mock people who are privately deeply spiritual (including Christians) and when they speak of their faith it's in the context of what it means to them personally.

I'm a skeptical wiccan myself and that's the context I speak of it on the rare occasions that I do speak of my spirituality to non wiccans - the personal spiritual part of it means a lot to me, but I'm questioning about the various gods and goddesses existence, I'm more on board with a Jungian psychological approach to the divine- a kind of energy that is both masculine and feminine and neither... (it's hard to find words for it)

It is mockable though that some extremist Christians buy into this nonsense, and have done so over the centuries. All because Revelations had a tie breaker vote in the 300's and got included in the official Biblical texts. It was the only book that had that close a vote. It was highly controversial amongst those 4th century Bishops- several outright denounced it as deluded ravings, not the word of God. I can't but think how much less extremism there might have been if the vote had gone the other way and that book wasn't included, and the Gnostic gospel of Mary Magdalene had been included.

I'm a follower of Christianity and it says no where in Revelations about the exact day or hour the world will end. The bible actually says "no man will knoweth of the day or hour i cometh" and a parable that he'll come like a thief in the night meaning it'll be unexpected to everyone except those that already have faith in him. The lord will return on the sound of the "7th" trumpet, he'll move from the East to the West. Alot people will be deceived by the devil on the sound of 6th trumpet thinking it's the messiah when the lord actually comes back on the sound of the 7th trumpet. He also says the end of days can be postponed if people can change.

So i don't believe in any man made prediction. happy.gif

You have to live by faith and trust in his will. Having faith is a practice all forms of religion shares.

Your religion =/= my religion. But that's a story for another day.

One god for you. I have entire pantheon of gods to pray to.

No, not Zeus. Bloody man threw a lightning bolt at me the other day.
