Yeah i know this sad, especially when there wasn't multiple shut-off valves installed and OSHA doesn't even require it for the american oil rigs compared to how strict they are in any other refinery or plant. sleep.gif

Kind of ironic that this happens right after the OK to drill more.
I feel bad for the people and the marine life that live in the area, and grateful for all the helpers trying to clean that mess up.

Fixed for better accuracy!! I don't want to hear the "we are
to blame" tree huggers environmental talk, when this was BP's fault this time for not investing in good safety backups.

This should be a reason to push for more reliable clean energy, like Nuclear Power.

It's our fault for not enforcing stricter regulations on BP.

No, it's everyone's fault for not being enforcers. The MMS was literally in bed with the Industry. Have you seen the reports of officials doing crystal meth and sleeping with lobbyists for the Oil industry? Self-Regulation doesn't work, example one, the banking industry.

BP is at fault for curtailing safety regulations for quicker extraction of profits and the lacking response. For god's sake there were BP industry reps on the rig the day it blew it up to celebrate a spotless safety record.

Let's not forget, Top Hat, Hot Tap, Junk Shot, this is just ridiculous.
