Is there any real evidence that "SS is popular in Japan"?  From what I've seen SN is popular in Japan, not that it's anymore "moral" in that regard, beyond the fact that Naruto will stand up to Sasuke and punch him in his arrogant face, well Sakura will just cower in the corner and cry that "Sasuke-Kun" doesn't value her.

one of the recent surveys showed it was the most popular het pairing by motives we already said here , ns close as second

Yeah on pixiv ( the last time I checked) it was number 1 in most viewed pairings, getting about 99 k views a day.

Yup. A way to get Sakura out of the way for NH.
