The steady beat of rain hitting the rooftop of the old monastery set an uneasy tone in the background as the inhabitants are awoken to the sound of a shrill...

"Father, Father!...Come quickly, there has been a murder, and the princess is gone!" screamed the priestess. Slowly the main foyer is lit by it's gas light system and there is seen the armored escort of the princess laying on his face with a sword in his back, blood pooling on the ground around him. The Priest arrives from his room still dressed in his night robes holding a small dagger in hand. Raising a hand he places it on the priestess' shoulder and tells her to wake the guests and ready the messenger to summon Lord Fernan. She nods and does as he bids her do...

"These cold stone walls, seem a bit colder now.." he said as he looked down upon the corpse of the young boy.."

The night was dark, and Tori blinks as she sees the lights flicker on. It must be around 3 AM or so. Letting out a yawn and slipping on a pair of sandals She'd only decided to stay here for the night, and crap like this has happened?

It was a monastery, not a city. With a sigh, brushing a blonde lock of hair out of dark green eyes, she throws on a coat, and heads outside.

"What on earth has happened here..?" Her voice was quiet, unnecessarily so. It was way too late for this sort of stuff.

The old hunched priest turned to see his guest awake and asking questions. "Much trouble, very much trouble.." he answered. His fluffy white eyebrows stood out a bit as he furrowed his brow. "The Princess has been taken and the her guard slain.." His eyes travel back up the mosaic built upon the wall above the pulpit. "May the Goddess be with us.." his long white robes ruffled as he knelt to give homage. As he did so, the Priestess returned with word.."Holy father, the chocobos were taken as well, the barn has been ransacked, as well the messenger killed." "This is grave news indeed." he replied. He stood again and turned to the young lady there.."I'm sorry to ask this of you, a traveler..But this is something more than just coincidence. The Goddess Freya has given you to us this night." He took in a deep breath, "Would you take a letter to the castle and bid Lord Fernan come?"

[Yoko]

Another blink. She stares at the priest. What did he say? A letter? What? All she had wanted was a night's sleep, then she'd be on her way. "A letter?"

Tori's lips form into a frown. "Why me?" There was a questioning look on her face. Despite staying in a place like this, she really wasn't religious. It had just happened to be raining, and she needed a place to stay.

She sighs and clutches her coat tightly to her body. It was cold, but she stayed and looked up at the priest, waiting for his reply.

"Yes, a letter containing the word of what has transpired here tonight." he said. He looked at her seeing that she was slightly apprehensive to this suggestion. "Like it or not young lady you're witness to a conspiracy...You're in this now. Please, Send for Lord Fernan, and If he releases you, then you are free to go." With that he ordered the writing, sealing, and reading of the letter to be sent. He stood awaiting her reply.

[Yoko]

With another sigh and a slight shiver as a cold breeze blew by, Tori nods. She obviously doesn't really have a choice in the matter, because what the old man spoke was the truth, despite the fact that she really didn't want to believe him.

"Very well. If I must..." She really wasn't happy with this sudden task.. "At the very least, I'm going to at least get changed." It was cold, dammit.

Turning to walk back to her room, she grumbles a little. "Sure as hell not getting back to sleep.."

The priest smiled once again and made his way to his office to find the priestess finishing the letter. "It is done father." "Very good my child, I shall ready the traveler a map and some potions. Please take the letter to her room at once." "Yes, father." The young priestess finished sealing the letter and made her way for Tori's room...

[Tsunade]

Ceres whistled as she kicked a stone waiting outside of the Monastery.

"Why did something stupid like this have to happen now? All I wanted was so sleep" She yawned leaning against the gate, "Where is that Tori? I am expected to escort her..."

[Yoko]

Tori, having always been one to get ready quickly, was heading out the door when she nearly ran into the priestess. With a quick, quietly murmured thank you, she takes the letter of what was apparently the utmost importance. She was just a traveler. Not really used to things like this.

She shares a few words with the priest. Tucking the letter and the map in a pouch attached to her belt she heads out to the gate.

"Ceres?" A blink, and a small smile brightens up her face in the dark night. "Long time no see. You're to escort me, correct?"

[Tsunade]

Ceres nodded, "I am to escort you to the Lord's place?"

Ceres then muttered, "Why is it that The Lord is always cut into my sleep pattern..." and turned back to Tori, "Shall we leave yes? It's not that far..."

Flip-flopping could be heard in the halls. The young man rushed though the doors with agility. " Sir Fernan! I know where the traitors were! I tracked them down! I swear! " The young man grunted and growled as he was being pulled away by guards. " Please listen to me! I want to help! They're going to my homeland! I swear to you! By my honor and my blade! " He chanted as he struggled though the guards. His left hand , made of steel gasped to grab the lord as he was being dragged away. " My name is Dastan! I come from the Southern lands! I saw them! Don't let this opportunity slip! " He charged on trying to make his point across.

The heavily armored Judge stood at then of the hall, standing in the open doorway facing his would be assassin.

"Lord Fernan, We captured this man entering the castle gates. And he's fought us this entire way here." The captain of the guard informed.

"Let him go Lavian. If he meant me any harm he would have done so already."

"As you wish Mi'lord." The dark skinned, and quite beautiful elvaan knight answered. Lavian sheathed her sword and ordered the other knights to release the Blue mage.

Fernan turned on his heel, dragging the long black cape with him as he stepped back into his office. He then raised up his hand waving the young man in.

[Yakatsu]

Dastan, walked forward , bowing down lightly. " My name is Dastan. I come from the Southern Lands. I saw the traitors. I saw them carrying the princess with them. I managed to track them down...until I lost them. " Chanted the boy as he scratched the back of his head. Which is covered by scarfs. " ...Please , Lord Fernan , we need troops! Let me lead them! I know all the corners of the my homeland, we'll be able to find them! " He chanted closing his fists.

Lord Fernan meant no offense of course but what Dastan had told him sounded ridiculous. His only reaction was to laugh, and he did so, out loud. Fernan's armor shook as he laughed and clasped his hand to his chest, and preceded to reveal the face of an older man by the removal of his helm. By this time Lavian had made her way over to him and Fernan handed the helm over to her. She nodded and held it in her hands as she stood beside him. "I'm sorry young Dastan, but your country and mine have been at peace for many years...What sort of proof do you have?" he asked pleasantly.

Honestly, Tori didn't care much for rulers. She was... A wanderer, really. She was a mercenary, and as such, never stayed in one place for long. Looking at Ceres, she offers a small smile and a nod. "Yeah, to the Lord whatshisface's place." Tori stifled a yawn.

".... I want a nap after this is done. Way too early for this shit.." She adjusts her belt, a short blade and some other supplies attached to it. "So, which way is it?"

[Sakura Blossoms]

I crouched in the upper branches of the threes surrounding the monastery, and watched the two young females leave in what seemed to be a hurry. I tucked a stray strand of bright red hair behind my Elvaan ear, and narrowed my jade green eyes at the pair, as they hurried along their path. I imagined that if the ever saw me, I would probably get the usual questions that I usually received, like how was that my hair and eye colour didn't match the rest of my race, with their varying shades of fair, blond, or silver hair. Or their piercing blue or green eyes. Well, I had the eye colour down, but way back in my particular linage, one of my ancestors went astray, and had an affair with a human woman with bright flaming hair, and intense green eyes.

Thus how I came to be.

But that was not my worry right now. Right now those two hurried away from the monastery with what looked like a very important letter, clutched in the hand of the fair-haired, green-eyed woman. And there appeared to have been a murder that took place within the monastery itself, from all the commotion going on inside that I was able to observe happening, from my perch high in the treetops.

I sat undecided for a few seconds, trying to decide if I wanted to get closer to the monastery to find out more about what was going on, or if I should follow the two women, as they moved further along the path which would eventually lead them to the castle, and it's surrounding town.

"We are here with a urgent message from the monastery." she announce firmly and the guards opened the gates. The two walked in and Ceres lead Tori into the castle and into the hall which seemed to be in use. Fernan and a young male seemed to be having a conversation.

"We bring a urgent message from the monastery my Lord."

It was a silent walk for the two of them on the wet cobblestone streets. Ceres said nothing until they reached Lord Fernan castle.

I had to go almost deathly silent, as one of the young women before me on the path, cocked her head back towards my hiding place in the trees, and I had to quickly stop moving.

I would have to be more careful. These were obviously alert females whom I was trailing.

They finally made it to the castle, and as nimble as a cat I quickly followed along, jumping onto a ledge on the side of the stone castle wall, and slipping over the top while the guards were distracted by the two young women.

Fernan acknowledges her presence and waves her in. "What news have you from our esteemed Father Kennedy?" he asks plainly.

"My lord," Tori begins. "I bring the news of the Princess' capture." The mercenary steps forward, one pale hand grasping the letter. She offers the piece of parchment, hoping she can just go back to wandering to the next city. She really didn't want to be involved in things like this.

For a moment, she frowns. Someone was following them, but who? Tori sighed and shook her head, ash-blonde strands swaying slightly with the motion. Looking back at Fernan.

"More details are in the letter, my lord." Tori hated formalities...
