And Yu-Gi-Oh! has my full undivided attention right now. I can see why it was all the rage back when it first came out on Cartoon Network, but I was never able to get into it when I was younger. Yu-Gi-Oh came on TV when I was in first, second, or maybe third grade, and I just recently found it on Netflix. I'd been putting it off for a while and damn do I regret that decision. It's great! I can already tell I'll be re-watching both seasons for quite some time to come. Also, I can't help but like Yugi and Tea. I kinda stopped paying attention to shipping pairings for a while, but I can't help but like these two.

A bit behind on the times, I know, but I like sharing my thoughts :D

Yugioh certainly had silly elements but the original series did have a certain fun charm to it.

If you want to check out some more older animes, I would recommend

  • Escaflowne (the series and the movie)
  • Great Teacher Onizuka
  • The Samurai X movies (Inspired by the Kenshin series)
  • Flame of Recca
  • Golden Boy
  • Outlaw Star
  • Big-O
  • RahXephon

Those were from the 90s. If you want to see some older series from the older 2000s, I would say

  • Please Teacher
  • The Full Metal Panic series
  • Read or Die (Movie and series)
