without jacket + boots + star side-seams on pants (unofficial; fan edit):

http://www.newsarama...ume-100629.html

For now anyways.

This is pretty big, since it's the first time she's had a real costume change in fifteen years; and it's by far the most modest look she's had since the mid 70's "depowered and rolling with I-Ching" days.

Hopefully the general look stays and is tweaked; I always found it kind of hard to take the character seriously with the classic American flag bathing suit look.

Her previous looks:

Updated the first post with an image of Wonder Womans previous looks (of which there's... well, three, with one having numerous little alterations over the years).

Should have put it up in the first place, but forgot to.

You mean the new look?

The only thing I'd drop is the choker; the jacket's a bit too 90's, but I'm alright with it.

mein gott in himmel i saw this on the news XDDDDD

well gotta say that i'm alittle bit disappointed. I have a feeling rumors that this new look sprouting up is to make the transition of the WW movie easier are slightly true. Or something. I dunno I don't follow her comics closely so take what I said with a grain of salt.

Anyway diggin' the gauntlets at least. Miss the boots. Wish that this new look alluded to her origins more -- maybe a sash or something? hm.png

edit:
oh and her jacket reminds me of Superboy. hmm

I have to say that I like this one better than the others. It's unique, plus it still has that whole "America" feeling.

Actually that whole look reminds me of a female version of Kon-El. I'm glad you guys like it. Probably is a nod to the upcoming movie. Just like when the X-Men movies came out the X-Men in the comics retired their colorful spandex for black leathers and jackets.

Wonder Woman in spandex would have been good too.

I like the choker. Goes well with her crown and new hair.

I like her new gauntlets too, better than her old bracelets at least.

Honestly, I like it all except for her new pants and boots.

I tend too agree the new look of Wonder woman makes me think of a female version of super Boy, or super man. tongue.gif But I like the new look I think it looks cool, and more wonder woman I think.

Who knows, it might be. Let's face it, it's kind of tough to find an actress both willing to wear the classic, revealing outfit and who has acting chops. Not really an easy proposition to sell someone on; some actresses even outright slammed her look and the character (Megan Fox is the first one that comes to mind).

QUOTE
oh and her jacket reminds me of Superboy. hmm

Maybe a little. But only because he's one of the first that comes to mind in regards to superheroes who sported a jacket. Animal Man does as well.

QUOTE
Miss the boots.

I do agree that if there's an alteration that should be made over time - assuming the look sticks, which I hope it does - it's the return of visible boots of some kind.

QUOTE

I think so too, my minor issues with it aside.

QUOTE

A bit, yeah. I'm glad it's not so overt anymore though. The whole "America" thing with her costume traces clear back to her origins during World War II, when she came to America from Paradise Island, loved the values and freedom America had and took on a costume in honor. But that origin/reasoning hasn't been around for a long while, so the only reason the look hasn't changed much over the years is because it's the most recognizable.

QUOTE

Ahh yes, under the Morrison/Quitely era of the X-Men.

My favorite look for them, personally.

QUOTE

I guess. I don't know. Something about it just bugs me. Perhaps it'll grow on me.

She looks good...

though I still love the previous "American" designs of her (IMO best is middle, 1st right and 2nd right designs).

My bad. I didn't realize one was missing from that image. I'm not really that knowledgeable about Wonder Woman; as is obvious, my fanboy allegiance lies with the Bat.

Thanks for posting it.

If I had to choose one that's best from the regular America design, it would be the middle one.

But as I said, I find it hard to take the classic look seriously.

I agree with Krisk on this could be related to the movie just like the updated Thor and Captain America looks.

Dude, comparing the two, it's wild.

But getting back to the discussion, I think I'm not lacking the lack of flair the new WW costume has. Granted, I'm not saying that Diana needs to be gallivanting around in a two-piece or a stars and stripes thong, but I'd like to see something a bit flasher for the most famous DC super heroine.

Going over the outfit again, I'd lose the jacket firstly. I like the gauntlets. I like the choker. Tiara is going to be a must anyway. But the leggings thing she has, should go. But if they must keep the leggings, give her some boots instead of that anklet slipper boot things she has on now.

Of course you would rolleyes.gif

Let's stick Superman and Batman in Speedos only, and see how much their core male audience likes them then.

I think my mind just bled from that hideous mental image. I thank you Sakura-sama, if it was possible to scrub my brain with bleach to erase that horrid thought I would.
