he is not retiring. He just quit to have to do with Naruto world anymore after Boruto movie. In the TOC of WSJ He said that writing the spinoff was harder than writing Naruto for 15 years (joking) and he will see us around. He will still continue to draw, probably a seinen.And no one cares about it
