naruto would then not be a bad father or bad family man, he wouldn't miss his hokage ceremony either. but still

peace wasn't truly achieved, orochimaru is still running around nonchalant with eveyrone, naruto still felt like he got the hokage title because kakashi said so. i still hate his canon adult design.

An open ending would have been way more satisfying than the trash we got. Kishi should have just left the pairings to the readers imaginations. Also, instead of making The Last they could have just made a movie about Team 7 with them actually having bonding time or about how Naruto is going to change the ninja system. That would have been a better tie in with the manga and no characters get's trashed in the process.

Say Naruto ended without any pairings becoming canon and just with Naruto possibly becoming Hokage or in the process of becoming one. This could lead to a potential part 3 without kids or just have had a complete ending.

Would you have been okay with that?

15 to open ending? Thank's, but no. But to compared to what we got? YES.

Yes, I'd have accepted it considering it's a shonen manga, but it'd always leave me wondering what could've been

Nope, I prefer to have an ending. The only reason I calmed down about the open pairing ending to Negima is because we ended up getting UQ Holder which softens the blow a bit, and the fact Negai is about 10...and being chased by a bunch of 14 year old girls.

As long as the last few pages provided enough context (unlike the ending did) it would be perfectly okay for it to be open.

Honestly, if we were unaware of the ending weeks before the final chapter, I really doubt the majority would be okay with a open ending.

Most people spent too much time, I spent too much time, getting threats, repeated arguments, and debates, for an open ending. I talking shipping wise. It would just be like Final Fantasy and VK, the shipping wars will never end. Shipping wise, I rather a conclusion, even if I end up in the losing side because what I hate most is not knowing in a open end. I might believe NS is canon, but opposing shippers will believe their ship is canon. And I can't argue against that because NS isn't canon (if open end). Plot wise, As long as everything is answered, I'm okay. But I don't think I'll have the motivation to continue shipping NS because I spent five years wanting NS to see them together. Open end to me is just like not being canon, because I have to live through FF and art, fanon in general. The only perk would be SS and NH not being canon, but I still feel that I wasted my time getting attached for so long.

I already been through ships being canon/ non canon. NS was the first ship I really put so much time and dedication towards, and by them not being canon, it taught me not to put so much effort into parings in shounen in general, because it can become toxic, and I won't lose sleep over mediocre shounen were the author could give a crap about romantic development.

I kind of expected an open ending...even more than a solid NS ending. Just because that seemed to be the way Kishimoto wanted to go, from the way he treated other relationships and the novel, The Gutsy Ninja. Kishimoto just seemed to shy away from big declarations of love (like the kind of crap we got in The Last, ironically). So I really thought an open ending, with a positive emphasis on NS, was the way it was going to go.

Boy was I wrong....

ehhh. I have things i like about open endings, and things I don't.

Open endings leave room for imagination, but at the same time may lack closure.

but compared to what we got, oh yes. I certainly would have preferred an open ending.

A part of me actually believed we would be getting a party 3, with them being more "young adults", and that would be where the pairings were dealt with. Of course I also thought Sasuke was going to either die, or sacrifice his eyes in order to return to the good guy side. Instead he just acted like a kitten head and only stopped after getting punched hard.

Yes BUT at the same time i would have been terribly disappointed with NS not shown happening coz NS was part of the story and after all the years i invested in it,i wanted naruto to get the girl of his dreams. The story was not built for an open ending but if the ending was open i still would have been okay with it.

I've always contemplated what an open ending might be in this manga... hmm, I think the only thing that the ending I agreed with in a sense was Sasuke becoming a drifter, but I think it should have been with his team and not because he was allowed to, but because it was the only way he was allowed to stay alive. The only thing that would suck about the open ending would be no resolution to Naruto's semi-complicated love life. But I suppose it could sorta be hinted at in some manner.
