So, in your opinion, what's the worst ending to an anime or manga ever? For me: 

 

1. Usagi Drop 

2. Naruto 

3. Katekyo Hitman Reborn 

 

Usagi Drop

To be fair, I never read Usagi Drop, but I did read summaries and info on it to see if I would actually start it- but when I accidentally found out the ending, I was completely....disgusted. And I'm even more disgusted at the fans who try and justify it. Think Naruto's ending- but with pedophile incest. And for a series to run for so long to just end that way is just heartbreaking.

 

 

No need to further explain the ridiculous of Naruto's ending. 

 

Katekyo Hitman Reborn

Oh my god this ending was awful. It was my personal, most hated ending until Naruto reached its conclusion. It was as if the main character threw over 300 chapters worth of development out of the window. He couldn't even decide on his final love interest. What's worse is the chronological order the ending took place as well. Why add such weird chapters at the final end of the story? I will forever be disappointed in KHR. To me, it's another Shounen Jump failure.

Explanation on why the Gantz manga ending was just so bad...

 

 

 

I recall a summer back in 2005-2006 when I picked up Gantz the first time. Little did I know that late evening and my sleep would be gone instead dedicated to Gantz the moment I read the first chapter. Before I knew it I was over the first 100 chapters into a story of personal survival, to save the earth, unspeakable monsters, and ultra tight black suits. My mind filled with contents I wouldn’t wish to others unless they’d agree to it. I confess that this is not a rare experience as many who have picked up Gantz reacted in a similar way – they can’t put it down. Much like those freakishly bizarre aliens. That’s because Gantz is an experience on its own. Everything has to end at some point. I think what really bothers me about Usagi Drop is not the manga by itself- but the fanbase instead. Much like Naruto's. The fact that people will reach till the ends of the Earth just to justify such a horrible ending shows how delusional otaku and anime fans really are. All it takes is a simple imagination of you falling in love with one of your parents to see how morally wrong and disgusting Usagi Drop's ending was. But the fandom will insist on using the same excuse the Naruto fandom uses- "it's okay as long as the characters are happy". It doesn't matter if they are related by blood or not, it still mentally incest.

Yup definitely agree with Usagi Drop's ending, I'd put Listen to me girls I'm your father, and my little sister can't be this cute endings close though not quite at the same ick factor as Usagi.

 

While I agree with KHR's ending being dreadful, I probably wouldn't put it at the worst I've read, though that could be because I've felt the manga was planned to end after the future arc, everything after felt like the mangaka had to continue because of SWJ pressuring her. Plus the whole Tsuna resetting himself after each arc had become the norm by then, so it was almost like I expected it.

It has to be Naruto. Everything that ever made the series any good crumbled with two chapters and a movie.

 

Another one is Tenjho Tenge. I understand that there are some anime that has to end ambiguously because the manga hasn't finished, but, Tenjho Tenge seemed to start off so good but then went into a tail spin. It was rather disappointing. It's even more so when I actually looked up how the manga actually ended.

Well long ago I would have said the ending to DBZ since I didn't like how it ended. But now I have to say that Naruto is Number 1 for me I mean my god.

Well, this is not really the ending itself b/c I haven't seen it and NEVER will, but I still wanted to mention it:

Boku no Pico- I took a glance at it, and it was the worst anime-related decision I've ever made. In a way, I found out about it through a misunderstanding: When I first started Boku no Hero Academia, a new Shounen manga, I was still a bit forgetful about its name. So, when I saw the title of the anime mentioned on youtube, I thought instantly, that the title referred to the manga. The whole time I went about saying how much I loved Boku no Pico, before someone called out to me and said that I seem to be a big fan of hentai...

I don't have anything against yaoi, but child porn? Uhuh, that is unethical and disgusting. They dared to make three ovas out of this kitten
