As they disembarked the airship, the guards waiting them at the end of the ramp formed a wall around them, closing them off from the crowd that had gathered. As they walked, Twill peeked up over the shoulders of the guards to see the elaborate buildings of the city. Everything seemed to be made out of expensive stone and metals. It was a different style than she was used to, and she couldn’t help but feel awed by it. The people too dressed differently. They wore more vivid colors, looked around excitedly without fear of any soldiers telling them to move on, which was very typical back on the ground.

They were led through a gate and into a plain looking building. Inside were more people all dressed in similar uniforms. There was a large flag displayed on the wall that caught her eye. The mascot that was stitched neatly onto it was a golden owl sitting between a book and a sword. Another flag on the opposite wall was of a massive looking airship.

As they entered, everyone inside seemed to stop whatever work they had been doing to gawk at them until a loud voice broke through the air.

“Oi, you lot act like you’ve never seen land-dwellers before. Get back to work.” A woman stalked forward grinning at them. She had wild, curly black hair and a patch over her left eye. “We’ve got some rooms set up for them, divide them up and my group will get their info.”

She was quickly deposited into a room which had nothing more than a desk with two chairs on either side of it. Taking one of the chairs, she became aware for the first time that Noctua had disappeared. Twill blinked. She hadn’t notice him leave, but perhaps that was for the best. Who knew how people would react to him.

Twill jumped when the door opened abruptly and in strode the woman from before. She was still grinning. When she sat in the chair opposite, she kicked her legs up on the table and leaned back casually.

“Let’s make this easy, shall we? I've got a nap to get back to.”

Ryuuji walks along with the rest of the group while taking his surroundings carefully, although outwardly he doesn't seem interested at all but he's actually quite impressed by the city. Although none of the people staring at his group shows any violent intent, he keeps his guard up just in case of any sign of violence that may be hiding under the surface.

When the groups are separated and he's led into a room with another man who looks middle aged but the sharpness in the man's eyes tells him that he is not a man to be trifled with. He looks straight to the man's eyes and they soon gets into a short staring contest where both of them are trying to read each others value. They both broke eye contact with each other at the same time soon enough, slight respect for each other is earned just enough as the man flips a document inside the folder on the table before speaking, "Special agent Gibbert. So... I'll cut straight to the chase, who are you and where did you get your sword from?"

As they were separated into individual rooms, the guard behind Balian pushed him roughly into his own. "Hey!" He grunted before the room closed before his face.

"Drem," a voice spoke from behind him. He heard the clacking of armor before he turned around, seeing two men walk in. One had steel plated armor and carried a spear while the other was dressed in robes and looked at him with a serene expression. "Drem, Zeymah." The robed man spoke again, gesturing to the chair in front of Balian before sitting down on the chair across the table in the room. The armored figure growled at the robed man's words.

"Tol Jul Los Nid Zeymah!" The armored man snarled at Balian while the other palmed his face in annoyance of his guard.

"I can understand Dragon Language, y'know...." Balian crossed his arms and stared at the armored figure in defiance.

"Well, then understand this...Land Walker, you are no Dragoon! You are Vodahmin!" The armored figure all but screamed in Balian's face, spitting at the scowling man. Balian merely wiped the saliva off his face and sighed, he sidestepped around the indignant figure and sat down in front of the other man. The armored figure growled again and placed a hand on Balian's shoulder, "Do not turn your ba-" The armored man didn't get to finish his sentence before Balian grabbed the hand on his shoulder and flipped the other onto the table, shattering the table and dropping the armored man on the ground. The robed man sighed again. "Peace, my brothers...."

"I would, but this guy keeps..." Balian began to twist the hand painfully, "yelling at me." The robed man sighed for the third time and looked at the man, "Derasto. Enough. We have arrived to talk to him, not fight him." Derasto winced and nodded as Balian let him go. He got up and went back to the man's side, leaning against the wall and looking away from Balian.

"Forgive Derasto's impertinence. He has recently gained the rank of Captain and is...eager to prove himself."

"Pfft, I bet."

The man continued, ignoring Balian's retort, "I am Emir, leader of the Dragon-Keepers. When we have received word that a Dragoon is headed for Fortis, our curiosity was piqued. Though we remained isolated.... We have heard news of what has occurred to the mask of Konahrik. Krosis." Emir looked down in sadness, "After all these years, our mission would've been completed.... Krosis. It was not to be. But, we are here to welcome you, brother, and see if we can be of any assistance."

Translation: Drem: Peace. Tol Jul Los Nid Zeymah: He is no brother. Vodahmin!: Unremembered/Forgotten. Krosis: Sadness/Sorrow, can possible be read as "Sadly...."

The woman chuckled to herself, opening a folder to reveal some papers and took out a pen. “I’m Selene, by the way. I’m going to have to ask you a few questions.”

Twill nodded reluctantly, watching as the woman lazily flipped through the pages.

“So, what’s your first and last name?”

“Twill,” she responded, but then hesitated. She didn’t want to reveal any information that could get her siblings in trouble, though she wasn’t entirely sure the sky city would have any way to track them down anyways. After a moment, she finally replied, “Twill Sentri.”

The dark haired woman made some marks and then asked, “Age?”

“18.”

She whistled at that and looked up, her brown eyes surprised. “Kinda young, aren’t ya? To get involved with illegal airship flying.”

“It was a job,” Twill explained. “I needed the money, and I wasn’t even sure if I believed an airship to be a real possibility.”

Selene smirked and flipped through some more pages. “Eh, they don’t need to know all this.” She tossed the pen down and leaned back in her chair again and looked her over. “So, you’re a bow user? We don’t see that many of those around here. Most people like guns, but I can respect a good bow user now and then. Got any magic?”

Twill blinked, but nodded. “Yeah, some.”

“That usually comes in handy too, when trying to make a living. I’d recommend you get a ID card or something. Makes things a bit more legit, but I don’t really care as long as you guys aren’t causing trouble.”

Twill held up her hands in the negative. “No, we don’t want to cause trouble. Just a job that sort of turned into a curiosity. I’m sure after a bit of sight-seeing we’ll be ready to head back to our homes.”

The chair Selene had been lounging in fell to the ground with a loud thud. “Go home?” she repeated, giving a short laugh. “You’re joking right?”

When Twill only looked confused, she went on, “You mean, you guys weren’t warned about air travel? I mean, I assumed whoever knew about the airship knew the rules too.”

Twill shook her head. “What rules?”

Selene sighed and gave her a sympathetic look. “You can’t go back. It’s not possible.”

“Can’t go…?” she repeated, bewildered, her heart beginning to thud wildly in her chest.

The dark haired woman shook her head, her expression sad. “You can travel into the air, but you can’t return to the ground. The barrier won’t let you. It was put in place during the war, you know? The rebels kept the air technology and the government down there put up the barrier to keep us out.”

Twill felt the room spin as the news sank in.

“I'm sorry but, you’re stuck here.”

Ryuuji leans back on his chair before crossing his hands in front of his chest while marshaling his expression to that of boredom before answering, "Kurokaze Ryuuji, 25 years old. Got the sword from my adopted father after he passed away."

Gibbert's left eyebrow rise slightly as he looks at Ryuuji's pose and inwardly smirks, not many has the guts to be that bold during interrogation with him for years so Ryuuji has pique his interest. The fact that he can't detect any sign of lies from the answer yet giving the absolute minimal information also raised the young man's score in his book.

Ryuuji's expression is still totally bored when Gibbert pulled out his sword from under his chair and puts it complete with the scabbard on the table, he had guessed that its either going to be used as a bargaining chip or the older man is using it as a bait for him. His latter guess turned out to be the more accurate one as Gibbert talks again, "This sword... is a family heirloom of a family friend of mine. Forged with true dragon fire and magic metal called Aerolcum. Sharper than razor, light as feather and sturdier than oridecon. Moreover, imbued with magical properties of the five elements, truly one of a kind and not many can use it." He turns his eyes to Ryuuji and asked, "I assume you can?" Ryuuji nods slightly but stays silent.

Gibbert nods before continuing as he takes the sword and cradled it on his palm as he sits back, "When I was handed this sword to be inspected and heard that it belonged to one of the passenger in the airship... I recognized it straight away and then... I knew I had to talk with you." he puts the sword away before leaning forward once again before speaking, "You see... my friend was... lost at war decades ago. MIA as they call it now, but before we just call them lost...."

This time, Ryuuji never lets him finish the sentence as he interrupts, "I was handed that sword from my father, an honorable man and I'd appreciate it if you don't assume that he is a materialistic person who'd kill...."

Gibbert raise his hand to stop Ryuuji's talk while shaking his head side to side, "No no... you misunderstand. I know your father didn't kill my friend, after all, you being able to use it means that you're legitimate successor of it. Besides... your name also tells me that: Kurokaze means black wind which in our native language is: Vulven, the name of my friend's family."

Ryuuji's eyes widened as he put the pieces together, "You mean...?"

Gibberts smiles a bit as he answered, "Yes, your father was one of us, dweller of the sky."

Leaning on the wall by the door Twill had gone in he looked throughout the room. As he watched the people walk around he felt really out of place.....no one was an elf, they were all humans. He thought for awhile wondering why no elf's were here but he decided to just give up on that train of thought and wonder what was happening in the room behind him. He couldn't really hear anything it was just mumbling.

"Damn this is boring." Zerva said putting his hat over his eyes due to the attention his ears were getting him.

Two girls began giggling and pointing at him, "Do you mind! I take it you've never seen an elf before?" He yelled. The girls just walked away laughing even louder now.

"Tsk typical." he mumbled.

A women about 20 years old walked up to Zerva. " I take it your from that sky ship if im correct." She stated. "Please follow me."

Walking into the room he took a seat in front of the desk that the women sat down at. "I'm going to make this quick and easy for you. Tell me your name, age, and what your doing here." She said sternly.

Zerva sat there. "The names Zerva Ragnin, I'm 18 years old, and im just working as a body guard for the young lady you have in that other room." He said relaxing.

As he watched the expressions on her face changed as she looked at him he got kinda nervous. "It's kinda weird....what I mean is i've only ever seen one elf here before you arrived but she left here a few years back she looked a lot like you as well." She said. Zerva looked at her stunned his sister had been here before. "Ma'am that was my sister. Though she died 2 years ago in the war." he finish.

"Sorry to hear that Zerva." The 20 year old women handed him a card, "This will let you roam around the city don't be getting into trouble now, don't want a handsome young elf in jail now do we."

"Well...supplies would be nice. And, well, I'm not really sure what else to do." Balian shrugged as he looked up in thought. "I guess, you can help me and my group with supplies first and get the airship all nice and repaired for when we leave." Derasto let out a loud, mocking laugh at Balian, who scowled again. "You don't get it do you? Once you're inside Fortis, you can't leave...ever."

"What?" Balian stood up in surprise and anger at the Dragoon's revelation, "But...What...?" He just stared as Derasto laughed at Balian.
"Derasto. Enough." Emir's voice broke Balian's stupor. "Yes, I'm afraid that the Land-walkers have created a barrier blocking your descent. I am sorry, brother." Emir bowed in sorrow and regret. "It is one of the reasons why we were unable to retrieve the mask of Kahnorik ourselves. Krosis. We are prepared to give you housing and food, should you need it."

"Me? What about the rest of my party?" At this, Emir's warm demeanor chilled, "No. No outsiders, only you....Brother." Emir caught himself and regained his composure. Balian narrowed his eyes. "I can see where your so-called captain got his arrogance. Now, let me out. I'll take care of food and boarding myself."
