The more I read the synopsis of this movie, the more I don't see "NaruHina" in this. All the synopsis talks about is Hinata only and her feelings and he regrets for not coming up front with Naruto earlier. Why would she feel regret ifs NaruHina was already canon? If this does make NaruHina canon, wouldn't they say that this is how Naruto and Hinata got closer and not how Hinata is dealing with these regrets? This would be even more true if Naruto was with Sakura and she was still watching from a far. We also got Hinata's confession in the manga so we know Naruto already knows her feelings, but this acts like something has stopped Hinata from talking with him about it more. I don't know. Based only on the information we got so far...nothing is fitting in right.

it's one sided. No surprise really. Lol they are jumping the gun as usual.

So after thinking about this trailer and it's implications there are several issues that I've noticed if NH becomes canon in this movie.  We know that at the very least in the beginning NH is not a thing/still at the base friendship stage, and this is the most glaring problem I have.  What this means is that there are going to be no panels of Naruto pursuing Hinata in 699 when IT is released.  It also means that all events in the manga where Naruto's actions could be construed as supposedly changing his feelings to those of a more romantic light in regards to Hinata are essentially confirmed to be purely platonic.  So where does this leave us?  Well that means the entirety of the romantic subplot in Naruto isn't even present in the manga itself, and instead 100% is completed in the movie (that is, if NH becomes canon).

This wouldn't really be all that bad if Kishimoto didn't care at all who Naruto's love interest is and thus didn't bother with romance in the first place.  The problem is he did bother with the romance, and despite being a shonen, romance in Naruto has had quite an impact on the plot.  We all know of the various unrequited love scenarios, but the most significant imo is ObiRin.  Obito went completely insane after and because of Rin's death, thereby causing all the horrific events that have led up to where we are now.  You could even argue that the main ongoing conflict in Naruto is simply because Rin, Obito's love interest, died.  Now consider Kishimoto that has been building up the Sakura/Naruto relationship for a while now and it only keeps getting stronger.  There are panels all throughout the manga displaying Sakura's change in feelings for Naruto, and argueable Sasuke.  On the otherhand we have Naruto, who has stagnated with his relationship with Hinata as merely a good friend  (and that's actually being very generous).  I say this relationship has stagnated because as I said earlier, the instances where people have argued that he is starting to look at her in a romantic light are debunked due to no development between the two from 699 to The Last.  Kishimoto doesn't ignore romantic sublots, they are a core part of the manga.

Romance IS important in Naruto, and Kishimoto does take it seriously.  I can't seriously believe that he would develop other pairings, especially something like ObiRin, then have his main character's romance be completely non existent for the entirety of his manga.  That is essentially what it means if NH is canonized in the movie.  It's a direct statement that Naruto and his potential love interests had no meaningful development.  No one is going to tell me and have me believe that Naruto was too shy to confess to Hinata in 699, not the loudmouth, heart worn on his sleeve Naruto.  No, Naruto feels only comradeship with Hinata through and to the end of 699, or else canonization of NH in the movie doesn't make sense/is in an alternate universe.

As for NaruSaku, we still don't know how their relationship stands in The Last.  I hope that they are already a thing in the movie, but I'm somewhat doubtful of that.  That presents similar problems with NaruHina becoming canon in the movie, but not quite as bad imo.  I honestly don't see a good excuse for a Naruto pairing to not already be canon by that time unless it's neither Hinata or Sakura, or an open ending.  Leaving such an important plot point unresolved or spending all of its serious development in the movie is nonsensical when the author obviously does care about the romance (and especially since he already put in the development for the NaruSaku bond).  Despite all this I'm somewhat on the fence with the whole thing.  I'll certainly be dissapointed if NaruSaku doesn't become canon, but at the same time if NaruHina does become canon, the absurdity for the romantic development to only occur in a movie post manga will be enough to make me laugh and feel a bit of pity for those who actually ship the two together.  Who could actually be pleased that their otp's develpment and canonization were in a movie and not present in the manga at all?  At least a NaruSaku movie canonization has 699 chapters of development to back them up.

In this world, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity or law? Is it like the hand of God hovering above? At least it is true that man has no control; even over his own will.

I can't imagine Kishimoto not thinking of Sakura's insecurity over the size of her forehead when he made Kushina insecure of her hair. Just can't be a coincidence, and I don't want to believe it's not going to be brought up somehow. It'd be awesome if Naruto complimented Sakura on her forehead next chapter. It'd be the best possible callback Kishimoto could go with.

Anyway, since some of you are talking about stats,I think Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura have all surpassed their Sannin masters rather clearly and would all score 37 in total in the fourth data book.

Just gonna copy and paste this here: Yes, which was interpreted the wrong way by many Naruto fans. Lots of fans believed she meant find someone who shares the same temper as her, which points at Sakura (Since really that is the only thing they have in common. Seriously that's it. Don't believe me, read the manga again. And Naruto is exactly like his mother personality wise, as stated by Kakashi, Tsunade, etc. in the manga. So to Narusaku fans it would literally be KushinaxKushina, in terms of going by their logic.) What Kushina really must have meant, must have been: Find someone like me who loves you, as I do. Her motherly advice was something that any mother in her place would have said. It was just motherly advice, that's all it was. She wasn't telling him go after Sakura or Hinata. She doesn't even know who they are. So finding someone like his mother is irrelevant to both NaruHina and Narusaku. Still looking back at Kushina's and Minato's past has a very eerie resemblance to how Naruto treated Hinata when they were children. Like Minato, Hinata stalked Naruto, watched him from afar when they were kids, and secretly cheered him on. Just like Minato, Hinata didn't regard her life, when she jumped in to save Naruto against Pain. Minato saved Kushina when she really needed saving as well. Both of them are quiet, and keep to themselves, Kushina and Naruto are loud and obnoxious. The parallels don't stop there: Kushina was changed by Minato and began liking her red hair, Naruto changed Hinata, and she  began liking herself more, and gained more confidence through his bright cheery personality and guidance. Why would Kishimoto, go through the trouble of matching these two couples and share some similarities between them if he never intended NaruHina from the start? Using a parallel to support one pairing against the other, isn't a good idea, because it really doesn't matter to what Naruto wants for himself. Eat your vegetables, and respect your teachers, Naruto does the complete opposite to what his parents wished him to do. Going by Narusaku logic: He would actually obey his mother go with the girl who shares one thing in common with her. Naruto has been in love with Sakura all of his life. He can't change his romantic feelings. (Erm, the manga says otherwise) (Sakura doesn't even support Narusaku)  That is completely ludicrous, in the end Naruto will choose whom he will be happy with, and it doesn't matter what his parents wished for in him. They will be happy with his choice no matter which girl he chooses. The Last Naruto movie points towards Hinata, the girl the author intended Naruto to be with throughout the manga, because he focused so much attention on this beautiful pairing, and has backed up a lot of development supporting them all this time. (Manga wise, not Anime which is filled to the brim with pointless fillers including the RTN movie) It's no surprise to me that Naruto will choose Hinata and finally see that she's been there for him all this time. His heart will finally understand what it means to finally find something that he wants to protect and always keep safe. Hinata will do her part and continue to support him and cheer him on. Her personality will balance his out, just like Minato was to Kushina. They will finally be together after everything they have suffered and fought for, then start to find their own happiness within each other.

I'm actually debating with NH fans. Lmao I'm done now. There's like a hoard of them. The paragraph above was one of the posts I've replied to. Isn't it comical. MINATO=HINATA. :hehehe

...Minato stalked Kushina?? however, While yes they are both quiet, they're both quiet for different reasons..

Minato isn't shy and lacks self confidence, he's more...to himself...calm and level-headed...laid-back..whereas Hinata is shy and  lacks confidence in herself

I don't know about the whole stalking thing, but I don't think Minato stalked Kushina...I believe is was more of how Sakura was watching Naruto when he was younger..not hiding behind trees..

In fact, take away Sakura's fiery personality and add a laid-back personality to her...to me, Minato is more like Sakura

They're both not from prestigious clans, or hereditary bloodlines, yet they worked their butts off to become strong shinobi..and both are great analytic fighters in battles, as well as intelligent when it comes to attacking..all Sakura is...is a fiery Minato xD

The only thing Minato and Hinata has in common is probably being quiet..

This person also went on to say Minato had no regards to his life going to save Kushina...but from what I read...he was sent on mission with others, but was the only one to pick up her red trail of hair..again, proving how intelligent he was

And Hinata isn't the only person to be changed by Naruto..others were also changed by him, one of them being Sakura

Why do they always bring up the whole "personality-balance" argument?? is that even supposed to matter? lol

That bolded line though...they've actually been through stuff together? LEL

Gotta love how they always completely disregard every character and Sakura for their precious fillernata-chan smh

One more thing...they claim Sakura and Kushina only have 1 thing in common and it's their temper...but..

- aren't both said to be very beautiful?

- don't both have insecurities that only their romantic interests find charming about them?

- don't both hate to lose

- don't both enjoy pranks?

- Dont both use verbal ticks?

- Didn't both have the same view on the hero before knowing them for who they really were?

She also stated she didn't know what to say about the girls he should choose, but to pick one like her..and not any weird ones..

If I tell someone that a person reminded me of them, will I only be talking about their feelings or the way they are? Someone that's like you, is someone that shares the same qualities as you, personality-wise, not emotional-wise..if it were emotional wise then she could be meaning any girl that likes you

and while they always pull the "they meant someone that truly loves Naruto and for a long time" nice try NH-tards, but for all of you watching us in the shadows...unlike creepy Hinata..Kushina fell in love with Minato the moment he complimented her on something she hated the most and got to know him for who he really was that she hadn't noticed before...sounds like a similar possible event that might just take place this week..

Agreed, he shouldn't. but SP are huge hinata fans. And when NS is canon there needs to be an explanation about what happens to Hinata as she's well liked. I think we'll see her go through her own journey in this movie, get stronger, have her feelings addressed by Naruto, and be rejected but thank Naruto for helping her become stronger by allowing her to adopt his ninja way. She'll become the leader of the hyuuga, abolish the branch/head family crap, and Naruto will fulfill his first love, with Sakura.

Seeing how some Japanese tweeter accounts also call out the BSness of these marketing, I'm hoping it is genius...

Oh well, doesn't matter. What happens, happens.

Yeah, a lot of the japanese people actually are suspicious of the marketing SP is doing. They don't get persuaded that easily  :th_yeah:

Its post like these that make me doubt NH happening at all, and if it does, also makes me remember how absurd the romantic subplot of Naruto is. If NH happens in this movie, that is dumb. It could still happening, but it would be dumb (No offense any NH shippers lurkers who reading this).

In general I am skeptical of this whole movie being canon, mostly because of the plot and the sudden focus of Hinata. It is probably canon, yet it just doesn't... seem important enough to be consider canon... You know what I mean?

thinking about it,

If chapter 700 is supposed to be an epilogue and Naruto IS with someone....based on Kishi's interview of wanting to write him as a father, which would mean he is married.

then can't we already assume it's Sakura?

Cause if....Naruhina hasn't become canon yet...until the movie.....and Hinata didn't even tell Naruto her feelings yet...

...that means Kishi would just completely jump toward the end of the manga and have Naruto and Hinata as a couple without any buildup beforehand? Like Naruto getting over Sakura.

Which would be crazy weird.......Cause the last thing Naruto hinted toward Narusaku was that Sakura was pretty much his girlfriend to his father.

so logically (I'm assuming Kishi is logical here) Narusaku is the only ship that can POSSIBLY be canon in the last 2 chapters.

Sasuke already said he couldn't accept anyone but Naruto.....and Hinata would still be keeping her feelings a secret.

also again a movie is filler.....so Kishi shouldn't expect everyone to go see it just to make sense of the manga.

Another NH troll: Naruto grabs the ripped scarf after Hinata gets kidnapped, wears it as he's on his way to save her, and then gives it back to Hinata once she's rescued because he thought it was hers.

LOL.

Didn't Kishi's assistent mentioned in one of this tweets that Naruto stopped chasing after Sakura after the pain arc? :/ I mean he knows the ending, so if NS is end game, why would he say something like that? Weird.
