Starts where last episode ended with Sasuke agreeing to return to the village but for hos own reasons.
Naruto and Sasuke face off on the roof where they first fought Naruto reiterating that hes bringing Sasuke abck as a friend. Sasuke tells him hell take Naruto down.
they start off fast and furious chidoris rasengans swords and kunais and fireballs with Sasuke remembering the time as a kid when he couldnt make a fireball and the uchiha were still udner suspicion for the kyubi incedent
he says the fignht with naruto is destiny ever since they met at the academy so long ago. he recalls how he was a rival to Naruto from the start determined not to lose to him, he became the top student while Naruto was the bottom and a loser but only felt crushed by everyones expectations. Naruto says it was all so long ago.
Sasuke remembers a day when a dog fell into the river he thought abut going to save it but someone says hed be swept away too if he did so sasuke did nothing but watch as Naruto dove into rescue the dog before minato saved them both. Sasuke feels bad because all he could do was watch Naruto do what he couldn't.
he recalls the uchiha near coup detat being averted by minatos negotiations and how he changed his views of the Hokage and Naruto that day thinking they could be true rivals but how Naruto didn't change seeming to stay the same idiot. Naruto says it wasn't his fault and he tried to change while sasuke says the wanted to grow strong with Naruto together.
Sasuke gains an edge in their fight but Naruto counters with multi shadow clones reminding Sasuke of what Naruto single handedly stopped sasoris 100 puppets as kids with mass shadow clones.
Sasuke retaliates with Susanoo. saying how Naruto left him to get stronger on his own and how he always tried to catch up to Naruto who kept getting further ahead of him. Now he doesn't want to catch up he just wants to destroy Naruto and uses Susanoo to wipe most of the clones out.
Naruto counters with Sage mode and a giant rasengan that doesn't hurt the Susanoo then he uses a rasenshuriken which causes Sasuke to have to evolved the Susanoo to survive it. the building theyre on explodes separating them for a moment as Naruto thinks it not enough yet.
Naruto says he was able to come as far as he has because sasuke was his rival but Sasuke says not to underestimate him or the uchiha and lets fly with a massive energy wave from Susanoo that blows Naruto away.
Inside Narutos mind though Naruto asks Kurama for his power as Kurama says that sasukes serious about destroying them. Naruto asks for kuramas name and thanks him for the power which Naruto uses to go cloaked form. combined with sage mode
As Sasuke readies an amteratsu arrow he says hell finally end Naruto and their destny. Naruto says just try it as he takes on full kyubi form and readies a biju bomb. the two blasts meet with explosive results wiping a large area out.
Naruto and sasuke rush each other one last time both punching each other in the face at the same time which causes a double ko.
Naruto says he always has been and aways will be sasukes friend, Sasuke say the punch hurt and Naruto says of course it hurt idiot its from a friend.
Sasuke admits he was always just jealous of Naruto and his ability to act so freely. Naruto helps him to his feet. and the story ends with Naruto becoming Hokage and bringing peace as the child of prophecy
tsunade half asleep as she finishes reading it grumbles about jiraya playing favorites. then is woken by Jiraya who is alive and well. but then she wakes up to find Dan standing voer her as the Hokage. She says she was reading jirayas new novel but dan says she was just dreaming. he says maybe she can nap a little more before the 5 kage summit.
jiraya slightly younger version give Nawaki her younger brother a new porn novel but says keep it a secret from his sister which tsunade overhears becoming agitated.
