#673486 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by A_Soggy_Cactus on 25 November 2014 - 06:34 AM

New updates from the movie are stating that Sakura tells Naruto that he only loved her due to his rivalry with Sasuke and she will never change her feelings about Sasuke.

Are you kittening joking me? Seriously? kittening hell, man. I didn't think it was possible for me to take this ending less seriously, but apparently I can now. Holy kitten. This isn't even about pairings at this point, I mean it is, but underneath all of that, this just ruins everything about both of their characters because this exchange between them is completely ooc in the worse way possible. Naruto looks like an kitten because it shows that his love was only about rivalry, which from what we've read in the manga, it CLEARLY wasn't. I don't even need to cite examples to show how unbelievably and plainly wrong this is.

And Sakura's "never wavering" feelings for Sasuke makes her into a bad character in light of her development while she was away from Sasuke for the majority of the manga? Sakura would be an awful woman if she chose Naruto over her first love eh, Kishi? No. This is objectively wrong. I don't care how you try to work around it. Does stuff like this happen where you can't choose who you want to be in love with? Yeah. It happens. And sometimes it's for the worst. Love comes with a price. And sometimes that price doesn't seem like it's worth it, but you keep on loving anyway because you can't help it. But this is kittening fiction. And it's a kittening shonen. There's suppose to be a happy ending to this and it's suppose to make sense. Does stuff like this happen in real life where women choose the kitten? Yeah. It does. But does that make it right? And I'm not defending this whole "nice guy should the get the girl instead of the arrogant kitten" argument because there's so much that's wrong with that type of thinking. And that's a completely different discussion on its own. But when you see Sakura around Naruto... and her being HAPPY around Naruto... and seeing her start to have ROMANTIC INTEREST in Naruto... that makes her a bad character? For her to move on from something that has hurt her to something that not only makes her actually happy, but shows ACTUAL CHARACTER GROWTH? That's bad? That shows a bad woman? Don't even make me kittening laugh. Well, than what does that make Naruto: A character who never gives up on ANYTHING, gives up on his first love to be with Hinata? This makes Naruto equally as bad if not worse within your own twisted logic, Kishi. kitten, it's so awful.

You want to spontaneously(yes I know it was in the works since 2012, but for a series that has been in the works for 15 years, yeah, it's kittening spontaneous) add in a movie to cover gaps in your own original work? Fine. I mean, it's moronic, but fine. As long as you do it right, by all means. But when you have something like THIS, where both characters are acting ooc in negative ways in order to achieve what you, supposedly, originality wanted... can't you see that you're just creating even more problems instead of bridging the gap in your story in order for things to make sense for your ending? No. Things are making less and less sense and it's not even a good story anymore. It's sadistic and it's tasteless. What a kittening sorry excuse for a "romantic sub-plot". /rant

NaruSaku is the most tragic ship.

Sorry for the language. Just incredibly upset right now.

#669657 In the end, which was the main pairing? NH...or SS?

Posted by A_Soggy_Cactus on 23 November 2014 - 04:19 AM

He doesn't plan it.

But he did, though. And that's why it's so kittened up. I always found it funny how so many people called Kishi insane and in my mind I thought, "Okay guys, he may be a bad writer, but let's not get carried away." But after his most recent interview on the subject, no, he is absolutely insane.

#665015 A song that describes how you feel about NS

Posted by A_Soggy_Cactus on 19 November 2014 - 03:39 AM

I'll take a different approach. I wrote a song about NS. I wrote this towards the end of October when stuff about "The Last" started really heating up and people started loosing hope, but we still had reasons to believe that NS would be endgame. So I wrote this while all of that was happening and finished it two days before 698 came out. I have the music and everything, but it's not properly recorded. It's got a Taking Back Sunday/kind of old school Coheed and Cambria vibe to it. At least that's how my friends have described it. Here it is:

You’ve got this idea in your head

That you’re not too pretty cause of your hair

And you’re all alone, what are you gonna do?

I’ve got this image in my head

There’s no one left

But I saw you, your back turned to me

Just hang on, I’ve got a lot of things to say

And we we’re at that age where

We we’re just looking for attention

I'm going after you and...

You're going after to him

Well, I did my best to keep him from leaving

Because in loving you, I...

I loved your world

I understand and I always knew this was what you wanted

But I’m still smiling for you

If they say we’re heaven and earth

Then we’ve gotta be star crossed for what it’s worth

Remember, I promised you everything you lost

And if that means it’s over, but if it means your happy

Then that’s just fine, that’s just fine

If I didn’t love you, I’d refuse for you to leave

So if we’re not meant, where ever you go

I hope you know, you’ll be my everything

Your green eyes haven’t changed

And I still

Melt from head to toe

But I wonder if maybe

Something’s new with you, you said

You don’t want to lose me too

But I know there’s more

I can feel it in my throat

“Listen well, will you marry me? And are you well in the suffering?”

And you always say

You can only do the smallest things for me

So what? Who cares?

You know that’s all that matters

I know you still don’t know who’s worth holding

And I’m still here waiting for something in the air to change

You know I could never tell her anyway

If I can’t keep my promises, then there’s no point

But I think she already knows, she knows

You followed me for miles

And you can’t get the words out

If they say we’re heaven and earth

Then we’ve gotta be star crossed for what it’s worth

Remember, I promised you everything you lost

And if that means it’s over, but if it means your happy

Then that’s just fine, that’s just fine

If I didn’t love you, I’d refuse for you to leave

So if we’re not meant, where ever you go

I hope you know, you’ll be my everything

Oh, I can’t believe you when you say those three words

Don’t expect me to think that you turned everything right around

I said, “I hate people who lie to themselves,”

But I don’t hate you

No, I don't

But how you can you love someone who’s killing you?

You let it happen and you don’t move on

While I’ve always been here shouldering your load

Someday, you’ll have to choose

And until I can tell you everything that’s built up in my chest

I’ll keep watching

If they say we’re heaven and earth

Then we’ve gotta be star crossed for what it’s worth

Remember, I promised you everything you lost

And if that means it’s over, but if it means your happy

Then that’s just fine, that’s just fine

If I didn’t love you, I’d refuse for you to leave

So if we’re not meant, where ever you go

I hope you know, you’ll be my everything

I know I already gave my goodbye post. But shipping slightly aside. Please please please, for the love of all that is good, please, my god, read this http://shinosays.tum...ough-ive-gotten

Just one last thing to read before people start to leave. Warning: It's depressing, but it's the truth.

#641837 What did NaruSaku mean to You?

Posted by A_Soggy_Cactus on 06 November 2014 - 04:02 AM

*Looks around*

Okay, I guess I'll start. I'll just preface by saying I've posted more today than I have in my entire stay here. Yeah, I'm one of those members that only posts whenever something big happens. But trust me, I shipped(still do) NaruSaku hard.

Relationships are suppose to make more sense in stories than in real life. In fact, everything is suppose to make more sense. In real life, there's no such thing as foreshadowing or symbolism or anything like that. Life has unexpected turns that don't make sense and they can either be good or bad.

In Naruto, NaruSaku made sense. Kishi had all the right tools to make it happen, but he didn't. But that's not what my post is about because I've already talked about my frustrations concerning that. NaruSaku reminded me of people who marry their best friend. I'm at that age where I'm just now seeing that happen with my friends and it is the coolest thing to witness and be a part of. Because you know these people. You've known them for a really long time and you've seen their relationship start as really close friends and then you see them get closer the more you see them around each other and the more you hang out with them. And then before you know it, they're planning to get married. That's just one of the coolest things to me: to marry your best friend.

That's how I pictured NaruSaku. Two really close friends getting closer through hardships and just going through life side by side and then maybe becoming something more than that. Their relationship just made sense and I really believe it should have happened, but it didn't and that's sad.

Slightly off topic, but still relating. I'm a musician. I play in a band. I write my own music. We're not super big, but we tour every once and awhile and it's really cool. Sorry, very off topic there. Anyway, Naruto and Sakura's relationship inspired me to write short stories. And I incorporate those short stories into songs. A lot of them are about love, naturally, but they're also about going through hardships and just about anything. Because NaruSaku is not just romance, there is a very defined and deep friendship between the two. And they experience life together. The good and the bad. And they do it well. And so I write about that very thing. Taking inspiration from my own life, and from NaruSaku.

#467837 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by A_Soggy_Cactus on 28 May 2013 - 03:20 AM

Things are indeed looking good for NS, I'm not sure how to add to this.

I'll try to defend Naruhina and Sasusaku to make this debate theard interesting..

Ok, So...What If Naruto didn't say Sakua was his girlfriend right away because he was aware of Hinata standing right there? Maybe He still loves Sakura but he feels like it's just not going to happen. So he feels like pretending she is his girlfriend, just for a little bit.

And maybe after the war he will assume she would rather be with Sasuke. ( He would either stay single forever like Jaraiya, Or pick Hinata as a "2nd choice" )

But that's not romantic at all.. ( xD ...I'm a terrible NH defender...lol.. ) :sweatdrop:

Anyway guys, feel free to completly destroy my NH defense.  :hehehe:

As for SS....Sakura hasn't "gotten over" him yet, many SS fans think her not having a Fangirl reaction to Sasuke shows her feelings are deeper then someone like Karin. ( I like Sasukarin btw, but that's what many SS fans tell me...)

So, What are the chances that Sakura has "deeper feelings" for Sasuke? Many still use that love letter moment to prove that Sakura's feelings for Sasuke are much more then a simple crush.

The only real problem with the SS ship is....Sasake's lack of romantic feelings for Sakura. :ermm:  ( Still not sure how that can even BE a ship at this point, Sakura is single-handly holding it up. ( assuming she has those feelings...)

So, that's my SS defense. please break it apart and destroy it guys... :thumb:

I'll take a crack at this. If he was aware that Hinata was right there, and assuming that he loves her from an NH perspective, he probably would have denied it. Why would you lie about liking someone when the person you already actually like is in the same room? Again, NH perspective here. You have to remember that Naruto is pretty obvious with his feelings. Even Sai, who's known Naruto the least out of all the rookies, can even see that Naruto loves Sakura. I'm not going to pull out all of the examples, but it's pretty obvious both in part 1 and part 2 (see the build up thread).

SS is one-sided. There's no denying that. You could argue that NS is one-sided but the difference is that there is actual development that can be driven towards them being paired at the end of the manga. You can't do this with SS. There just simply isn't enough time for Sasuke to develop feelings for Sakura. And why would he for that matter? Itachi is his first love obviously XD. Likewise, there just isn't enough time for Naruto to develop feelings for Hinata anymore. Anything immediately following the Pain Arc would have been his chance. And for Hinata, there isn't enough time for her to develop herself as a character anymore. It's like her only goal in life is to live for Naruto. At least Naruto and Sakura have independent goals.

As for the love letter and Sakura saying that, "There's somebody else." Think about that panel where she's thinking about Sasuke. What's her facial expression? Is she happy when she's thinking about Sasuke? Nope. Not a chance. And what image of Sasuke does she see? This cold hearted blood thirsty avenger-- not the team 7 Sasuke. Even Karin could sense how menacing and cold his chakra was. This is not the same Sasuke that Sakura use to "love" (I'm not saying she doesn't anymore, but just give this some thought). But maybe I'm avoiding the question. Why does she say that there's someone else? I think she's just confused. Each time Sakura and Naruto have seen Sasuke since he left (Land of Iron and after he killed Danzo), he has made dramatic transformations in his character and in his goals. Think about how this has affected Sakura. That's A LOT to take in about someone you care about and it's gotta be worse for Naruto even.

...I hope that makes sense.  :sweatdrop:

I've never really debated pairings before. Totally new to me.
