It was confirmed. There were actual pictures of it and it looked like anime style. It was in Jump or something I think. The images weren't working when I linked them, so i just took them out.

So does that mean it's going to be a movie or will it be aired on TV? If it will be on TV I wonder if it's going to be subbed by Viz and placed on Crunchyroll or if a sub group will pick it up if we find out it's otherwise.

Since they said 'broadcast date', I'm figuring it could be either TV or movie depending on how literal the translation is.

People probably wanted to see it animated, but the company probably didn't want to place it on after the "fillers of doom".

Maybe it will be an OVA, since it was what, only 6 or so chapters long.

Actually, the Gaiden will air as part of the regular series, and the next movie comes out August 1st.
