Yeah I was wondering if the last chapter would be soon, as they claimed in the manga they were writing within the manga, the mangaka should be able to give their manga the best ending when all their goals are achieved and not drag it out because of it's populairity and this manga has achieved all it's goals but as I hadn't heard anything I wasn't sure when it would end, great ending, but it's a shame we didn't get an extra long manga with the wedding included.

Another great manga coming to an end, that makes a few still popular manga's ending. Negima ended last months, this month it's Bakuman and next we have air gear ending in a few weeks. Bleach is on the final arc, also looks like the case with Naruto, if rumours about Fairy Tail being planned to be around same size as the Mangaka's last piece is true then even that should be ending in a year or so. It's no wonder people are panicking about the state of Maga's in the coming years, there is nothing that is taking the place of these great manga's.

Yeah, I agree that an manga needs to end when everything had been solved, dragging it because of the popularity is one of the worst things that can happen. I don't mind bleach and Naruto ending, since I personally feel that both series had been going for longer then they should. But makes you wonder what comes next now that the most popular series in japan are ending one after another... and fairy tail, I'm not sure about this one. While the dragons issue is not solved, I don't see it ending.

If I remember correctly, Mashima plans to end it with twice the amount of chapters for Rave. Since Rave ended around 300 chapters, I'd say Mashima might end it at around 500 chapters. Which seems to be the right amount for a manga like FT to end.

As for the manga industry panicking, I agree. People are saying it's going to be the Dark Age of manga all over again.

I'm not sure about Naruto, it feels like Kishi has actually rushed towards the end ever since Naruto started training with the toads. Like how Danzou was dealt with, we are still finding out about his scheming yet he barely got time to do anything as a kage, it was an antii climax. Bleach shot itself in the foot, it started out with finding out Aizen was the main antagonist, and instead of going the typical route of having other sub arcs, and missions the next arc pretty much had Aizen being the main boss, If the last arc and the current arc was placed inbetween the battle to reach Aizen it would have made much more sense and probably worked to the manga's advantage instead of feeling like they were just tacked on later to take advantage of the the manga's popularity.

So it's double? I read around the same, though considering how the manga has been going recently, I wouldn't mind it ending soon. The latter half of the S-Class exams up until last couple of weeks has been dissapointing, it's only recently started picking up again.

I can understand why people are pinicking, I had high hopes for Beelzebub, and Medaka box replacing Naruto and Bleach in popularity but they both sort of fizzled out around 60 chapters and don't hold the same appeal anymore. Maybe the future for Manga is shorter series afterall.
