I'd personally want Kakashi to decline the offer and give it to Naruto. I think everyone would want Naruto to be hokage at this point xD Lol.

 

But here's a thought. What if Sakura became hokage? 

Why on Earth Naruto-verse would Sakura be made the Hokage? The reason Kakashi would be offered this position is because he is older, wiser, calmer and overall just way more mature compared to the likes of Naruto and the other teenagers. Kakashi is like the transition between the older and younger generations. Kishimoto mentioned this via Obito- Kakashi is supposed to act as a support to the younger generation until they are ready to take the responsibilities themselves.

 

The elders should rather make Naruto the Hokage if they are going for someone from the younger generation. Giving Sakura the position makes absolute zero sense.

I think Sakura would only ever become Hokage in an alternate universe where Naruto died before he could be one and she keeps his dream alive through her.

I'd love to see Naruto seated in the hokage chair. If it is Kakashi rather than Naruto who is next in line, I wouldn't fret too much. I think he holds the respect and acknowledgement from the village in much higher regard than becoming hokage. Plus, there's always room for a 7th face on the hokage mountain.
