#990685 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by Serenity Namikaze on 17 October 2023 - 09:32 PM

Oh they are Phantom not trying to give them any excuses here this is the kitten they wanted now they have to live with the trash.

I know a former NH shipper but was one of the few who liked Sakura but after Pain and what Hinata did which as I remember he said: Did this dumb ass kitten really jump in just to say she loved Naruto without a mother F...ing plan

And after that he began switching to NS he wanted Sasuke six feet under ground. We do talk about the BS and he said he was happy he dropped out of NH after Pain.

With all the craziness that we had  to deal with regarding the NH and SS fans (and still do, with less intensity), we can easily forget that they are NH and SS fans out there that are chill and can see reasons.

Some fans can enjoy the idea outside the canon reality (like fanfiction) and hate the canon, some can accept that the writing was kitten but accept the rest and some, while not agreeing with everything, can admit that NS (with SK) was the most logical pairing(s) that would affect the story a lot better for the majority of the main characters and also, would have a much better flow with the story in general.

I have a friend that was shipping NH and I told her, read the integrality of the manga vs watching the anime and you know what, she did and said that it did make a lot more senses to have NS as canon and understood now a lot better my points. She even said that while she was no longer a fan of the serie, that with all what she compared, she would have probably change from NH to NS for sure.

Hell, when starting watching the anime, I was a NH shipper (not an hardcore one tho just enjoyed it a little) but as soon as I started reading the manga, I switched instantly on NS. With that point in mind, I totally get why, only anime fans (mostly the westerns fans), ship hard NH because right from the very beginning (at least, with the fillers episodes between the first part and shippuden), SP was bias with Hinata.

He should but boruto hasn't exactly portrayed him to be all that strong now

And Shikamaru is better in terms of strength?

Making Shikamaru the Hokage instead of Konohamaru is probably because Konohamaru isn't really important in the overall story and Ikemoto (Kishimoto as well, previously), didn't bother developping him better. Shikamaru was probably the logical choice because he worked for years close enough to know the drift about the job plus, he's smart so yeah.....

Personnally, I find this decision pretty stupid, while Shikamaru is smart, being a real leader isn't just about that but again, I didn't follow anything regarding Boruto so I can't say much about him. Ikemoto should have made at least Kakashi come back, I don't approuve Kakashi as Hokage in the first place but making Shikamaru the Hokage feels like an insult to Naruto.

I love Shikamaru's expression. He ships it.

I also adore Shikamaru's expression

Naruto actually worrying about Sakura (instead of not giving a flying kitten about her in the last because he ''lost his will to live thanks to losing Hinata"   :bash: ) is totally Naruto, even if he loves someone precious and ''lose'' them, he would always react to another's suffering, especially for him, no matter what!

Anyway, can't wait for more as I presume we'll get some very good parts soon

Kishimoto is at his strongest in short self contained stories.

I totally agree on that but I also believe that all the harassment/fights he had to endure surely didn't help.

If he had more supports with what he wanted and less greedy/bias people in his envirement maybe things would have helped a great deal for him to do at least better than what he did.

But yeah, overall, short stories was and always will be better for writers like Kishimoto because he has proven in the past (with the help of his first editor) that he can be a good writer and has proven it once again with this one shot.

Wow, color me surprise. Minato's story was on point. Masashi, you had one job. Where was this writing during the end of Naruto?!

I had the same reaction, this one shot was high top quality!

This writing was not applied by the end of Naruto most probably because he was tired of it all and it did show and not just about the pairrings but everything in general. He had to constantly fight with people working for him that didn't have the same vision with his fight editor and him as well and that pretty much told him their biased views instead of thinking on what would really matter most for the story in general.

On that part, I can't really blame Kishimoto for giving up to what these people wanted even if it still regretful that he did gave up.

Now, he had long break of writing and drawing so he was really more up to his game, so to speak.

If the people pushing him so much would have gave him the time to let's say, grief about his father's passing, maybe he might would have giving us something a little more worth reading in the end.

Overall, I'm glad to see him back, even if it's much later then I would have liked and even if it's ''thanks'' to a popularity vote and not because he could have done it in the original story. I guess we will take what we can and hope that if he comes back writing, he'll continue to write as good as that.

Wow, they didn't screw over Kushina then; I am shocked that they didn't try and pull something like this since I feared they wouldn't even add her and just have a Hinata clone that would have died. But I am happy they do remember Kushina.

Yeah! I must admit being suprised to see Kushina in this one shot (wasn't expecting anything in fear of being disapointed) so seeing Kushina just feels even more precious  Also, while nothing is translated yet ( or at least, I didn't look further to see if people did try translate this lol) but it is quite nice to also have more of the Uzumaki background with Mito and young Kushina in a flashback.

As for an Hinata clone that would have died ( lol at this, sorry), while it would have been possible, I feel like this is something that SP would do, not really Kishimoto (unless he would have been forced somehow but since it has been long established that Hinata does sell well, doubt they would still try to push on Hinata)

I feel more convinced then ever that nh and ss was not what kishimoto wanted after that minato one shot spoilers

We had proof before (even if it wasn't all that clear for most of the time) but yeah, this one shot prouve even more that Kishimoto never wanted NH/SS.

So far, the only 2 panels I've seen that NH and SS try to compare with. One where kushina is behind a tree (kinda like younger Hinata stalking Naruto) and Minato acknoledge her presence ( probably say hello again, I have no translation on that lol). NH already jumped on this but while the pose for Kushina is somewhat copied, the meaning behind the scene is completely different. As for SS, there is a scene where Kushina hug Minato that on a bed (mostly in the hospital), kinda like the scene when Sakura hug Sasuke in the early manga. Again, it is somewhat copied but it doesn't feel the same as for one, Minato seem to smile at her hug and Kushina and him are most probably dating by now.

Again, from what I seen, there are still a lot more parallels toward NaruSaku. For example, there is one scene that show Kushina losing control over the kyubi, minato try to help but get attacked by a tail. This is similar to the scene when Naruto transformed into the 4 tails and Sakura get kicked out by one of the tails. There are other panels that show a clear parallels but this one I must admit surprised me as it is clear as crystal where Kishimoto got his insparation for this scene.

@Bail O' Lies : I can't tell how much Minakushi are in this  yet as I didn't see everything however from what I've seen, it is heavy on MinaKushi goodies.

Well it look like spoils from the new Minato one shot are out   (mostly on twitter, sorry, don't remember how to post pictures here with the spoilers tags)

For those interested, Kushina is there, interesting Minakushi goodies, the popsicle scene with Jiraya recreated, Mito Uzumaki with young Kushina flashback and it's only the beginning.

My Favorite part would be that Naruto gives Kushina's scarf to her because. I would have cried that he gives it to her and she is a spinning image of Kushina.

Also it would have been much more respectful toward Kushina's gift toward her son and it would also mean in a way that Naruto acknowledge Sakura as being similar to his mother therefore, wouldn't need a direct message that Sakura is like Kushina.

I feel like since the nH fans got what they wanted they no longer care since Hinata is with Naruto. Plus they also thought Sakura fans would all be gone by now.

That is true still, you would expect Hinata much higher than Sakura and yet, even in North America, she's only ranked 7, compared to Sakura who is second place.

Considering the fact that Hinata is supposed to be the favorite out of the 2 in North America, it's even more surprising.

i checked the poll results again and i didn't even realize sakura went up a little in north america to 2nd place and she also got 1st place in south/central america, pretty amazing

Considering that in the past she was hated in the west, it is indeed very surprising to see her so high in the poll results, especially in the north america.

Not that it matter much since it won't change much for her in regards if her role in the manga or worst, in the anime but it is a very nice surprise to see this result nonetheless

I love this!

There are many many more videos such as this. Unfortunately the artist did not do any NaruSaku only other parings we shall not name.

This is nice

Unfortunately, this is the reality for years now, artists that makes NaruSaku are rare to find, compared to other pairings that shall not be named lol

There are some on twitter like Shrimp chips (she also have an account with more adult arts), Bloom and Ranya are one of the few that I remember that are still doing NS arts

#988869 The Great Naruto Discussion Thread

The smart move the way I see it is to end Boruto in whatever way doesn't really matter, leave it for some years in order for people to not have as strong feelings towards it as they do now, to forgot a little bit about it. Then announce a movie. I say a movie because they need something big and also small enough to get people hyped for it. Coming out with a manga or anime continuation won't have the same effect. Plus I've always believed that the best way is to redo the Naruto vs Sasuke fight. Why that point? Well because no one will ever reboot the whole series or start somewhere at the halfway point. That's just too much to erase. But mainly because having a fight especially a good animated one on the big screen with those two will be the big thing that they need.

I agree that ending Boruto first before ever considering a reboot is essential. As for leaving it for a couple of years, that always depend on how desperate they are to try to make money again out of this franchise I guess. I would agree however that waiting for a little while would be the best choice, not letting the Boruto mess affect the reboot too much.

As for the reboot itself, I agree that they could easily take the option of just making small changes at the end of Naruto like no Kaguya and the last 2-3 chapters, for example. They could also make more changes after Pain arc, change some chapters here and there like Neiji's dying for the sake of having a NH moment, if they decide to make the reboot a NS ending, for example. For both options, It would be lasy on their part but that wouldn't be the first time we see them cutting the corner short however, that wouldn't be the smartest choice in my opinion. Like Derock said, redo after the whole Ninja War arc from the end of Pain Arc (outside Naruto meeting Kushina) because yeah, the whole thing was a big mess in many aspects. It would require a lot more from them but it's not impossible if they really want to make something worth bring real money.

The only thing after Pain that was great was Naruto meeting his mother because we finally were able to have more of the main character backstory. It was still a little annoying to have some Uchiha in this but at least, we got more about Naruto, which was really refreshing. So yeah, one of the changes that would be great is more about Naruto's background, his growth to become a real leader making hard choices and being a real model to the world and not just by making childish talk no jutsu. I also think that making Naruto realize that while saving Sasuke is important, it isn't and shouldn't be is main focus at least, not after confronting Pain. While dealing with Sasuke is part of dealing of the whole circle of hatred theme, it isn't the only way for Naruto to deal with this problem either.

About Naruto's lineage, another thing that should be adressed more is Karin being an Uzumaki. Not only because she's underdeveloped (and the developement happen way too late in the story) but again, it's another part of the main character's story that never happen, which was a real shame in my opinion. Make her interact at some point with Naruto or giving her detail about her power, the same as Kushina has, for example.

Another change would be of course, to make Sakura more relevant. Kishimoto was way too subtle with her developement before Pain, which resulted in making her being hated/misunderstood alot. While I agree that Kishimoto isn't the best when developping his female characters, he did show that he can do it, when he has proper guidance like with his first editor. Again, it's not about giving her lots of spotlight but meaningful developement here and there and not just making her part of the team 7 reunion in the war only to make her stand aside, like Kishimoto did. Make her team up with anyone or even take the lead to face one foe again, not just being a medical med nin in the background. Another idea would be to make her actually helping Naruto dealing with Sasuke, like she promised him to do, deal with him together. Not to say that she has to be there for all the fight but she doesn't have to be excluded either.

There are so many things that could be done that yeah, would require lots of work but would be in the long run, a much better way to give a more worthy ending to the original story.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I can't stop laughing. What have they've done? I thought some of the animations were bad, but this, this is on a different level all together.

At this point they should just admit defeat and leave it on a shelf for a while so people forgot about this and after a while reboot it.

It can not be saved otherwise.

I remember some of the past animations from SP being bad but it was usually from actions/fight scenes, not static poses like that.....seriously, that's a new low and coming from SP, that's saying a lot lol

It's like the Hinata situation all over again, give one character, for example, this Ada chick  all the animation budget (saw some pictures of animation for this character and her eyes/eyeshadow had soo much detail, it was crazy) but for the rest of the poor losers that doesn't deserve SP attention ( SP : Naruto!?, who's Naruto? some poor secondary character.....not really important), cut as much as possible  :twitch:

I don't know this Ada chick since again, I don't watch/read Boruto but that made me think about Hinata's confession episode all over again....

Not only the animation is bad but the official illustrations of Ikemoto isn't all that great either. Kishimoto had 1 week to produce 1 chapter while Ikemoto has 1 month and not just that, he has experience after working with Kishimoto all those years, one would assume that he would have had learn and evolve his art but what I can see is that the progress isn't that impressive, at least nothing compared to Kishimoto's art at the beginning vs let's say, before shippuden.

Plus the story being all over the place, it's no wonder that Boruto is on Hiatus (or rumour of being cancelled or whatever).

I agree that cancelling this, leave it to rest and then make a proper reboot would be the only option but again, with the very same people that kittened up the end of Naruto and now even worst Boruto, not sure how a reboot would save this mess.

In terms of a reboot/remake/alternative ending at the moment unlikely, but I wouldn't say impossible. After all digimon recently had a reboot series and I believe ikemoto wanted to originally do a reboot but did boruto in the end, as I beleive that's what etheir Jump, Pierrot or both wanted.

Best bet would be to test it as a multiverse or elseworld/what if story so you see how well it does and not upset those thank like the boruto continuity and don't want it fully erased. Plus I do feel most genreal audiences are more open to multiverse stories after marvel and dc doing them for films.

Granted in the sense they have already done it once in a filler what if about Naruto's parents being alive, but this time don't make it a dream. Heck they could do more with the road to ninjaverse if they wanted.

Considering that they already opened the possibility with RTN and like you said, with all the Marvel/DC multi universe and what if stories, they could pull up that scenarios quite well if they really want to test the water in a much better way than voting polls that only shows popularity, not really what can actually sell.

They could do series of one shots, in the ninja world but even in other worlds like the one ending of peirrot showing Naruto and the gand in high school. Whatever they do, one thing for sure, they have to focus on the Naruto aspect alot more than the Boruto one since Boruto clearly doesn't work out.

This solution might respect the fanbase that are still there while maybe gaining some that are curious about it but really, like I said before, I hightly doubt they will do it, even if it's after Boruto is done. If they were smart enough around the ending of Naruto, they wouldn't have been in this mess in the first place and frankly, even if they do pull this solution, like many have said previously, the majority of the fandom that made Naruto a succcess is no longer there and won't come back even if it's out of curiousity (or at least not to support their products).

But yeah, I do agree that if they really want, they could pull this and it could work....if they are smart which, we all know for years now, they aren't.
